Switched from Poly to GF

I'm always so undecided with my resort choice. I love GF, Poly and YC. I thought I was doing pretty good this time. We decided to do Poly for the marathon. We're doing a Grand Gathering the first week of our summer vacation and we're staying at WL (paying for 4 rooms so price does matter) and then we were moving over to the GF for the last week.

Well I got my Disney Visa code today and they didn't have any availability for the code at Poly so we switched to the GF. Now I have to figure out what to do with the second week of our summer trip - Poly or GF!

What great places to have to choose!

Great news Robyn - what discount rate did you get at the GF?

I have stayed at the Poly before but toying with the idea of GF. What makes you prefer it over the Poly? Or do you like both best?

I got the Disney Visa Discount. It was free park hoppers and waterparks and more option and a small discount on the room. It was a $700 savings over the regular GF rate with the same options. We saved a few hundred because I wouldn't have booked the water park option for January normally.

I really love the GF, the Polynesian and the Yacht Club. GF will probably always hold a soft spot in my heart because that is where my Disney obsession began - it's also the first resort that we started taking the youngest kids to. Last summer we went with the YC because we got a really good upsell code. Kids love all three resorts. DD (8 almost 9) prefers Polynesian 1st, DS (7) prefers YC and DD (10) tosses back and forth between GF and YC.

So I'm basically letting the discounts decide where we stay between the 3!

That's a good deal. I think getting a discount at one of them would sway me too, as I need two rooms for nine nights and we're doing the cruise afterwards!
