I just purchased a brand new Nautica bathing suit for half off, who can beat that? However, I also have a pair of mens swimming trunks that I planned on wearing in the first place because I am to put it nicely "pooh-sized," I am about a size 22 in womens, should I wear my new bathing suit and not worry about what others are whispering about my thighs or hips? Or should I stick to the trunks and a tee-shirt to avoid embarrassment? I know not everyone is judgmental but there are some out there, I just don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable having to watch my "thunder thighs" jiggle as I'm walking around the pool area.

This is no offense to any other "pooh-sized" men or women. I just know I have thicker thighs and big hips, other "pooh-sized" men or women may carry their weight elsewhere.

I am pooh sized also . I was at a pool party this last weekend. The sisters of the person who held the party were also in attendance. They make pooh sized me look like piglet. 2 of them wore the shorts and tank. The other 3 wore a bathing suit. The bathing suits looked much better. Don't be embaressed. Just have fun. If people stare let them. I bet your haveing a better time if that how they are spending their time in disney. I would join you but we are not going until next may.

Wear your swimsuit and be comfortable! :)

You can wear the shorts over the swimsuit as a cover-up, then decide if you want to remove them or not when you are at the pool.

But if your swimsuit fits you well and you like it, go for it!

Be sure to apply and reapply the sunscreen though! *LOL*

I think you should wear what makes YOU comfortable, weather you are pooh-size or size 0. I don't think you are going to make others uncomforatble by wearing a bathing suit.
Although I am not pooh-size I am very uncomfortable with my size and I keep a cover-up or shorts on until I go in the pool. This is how I am even in my own back yard (yes I have issues).
Go and enjoy yourself in whatever you chose to wear and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
Enjoy your trip
Laurie

You are never gonna see these people again anyway :laughing::laughing:

Seriously, as long as proper decorum is adhered to (no hiney floss please, it's a family show) I could care less what others wear.

Don't worry about it and enjoy your new bathing suit!

OMG are you my twin sister? I wear a size 4 and yet still hate myself in a bathing suit! I wear the cover up to the last minute. We have an inground pool and I hardly ever go in because I hate the way I look in a bathing suit.

okay girls. We all hate ourselves in swimsuits. I decided I dont care. I am wearing what makes me comfortable. I will be happily swimming tomorrow.

Not that it matters, but just so you know where I am coming from, I am considered by most as very in shape. I could not be less interested in judging others' body sizes or shapes. I am good with how I look, and I teach my daughters to be the same. I would never imagine that others would care what I look like as they do not know me. My daughters and I extend the same courtesy to all around us. Why would we ever concern ourselves with how folks around us look? We assume that all different shapes and sizes around us are all wonderful people who are living life and loving it. Where whatever you please, and feel wonderful doing so.

I was just there last week. I am a size 24 and I wore my suit to the pool. I will never see these people again so it really doesn't bother me. Enjoy your vacation!

You should wear your swim suit and no on will look twice. You will draw way more attention to yourself dressed up in a men's suimsuit and a t-shirt than a regular swim suit.

I have friends who go to Disney every year during free dining. They have never seen anyone they know. Wear what you want to wear! Disney is hot! Make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Agreed with PP....wear the suit and don't think twice.

Of course if that is what makes you comfortable.

I don't care what people think...I am what I am and will enjoy my life, it is the only one I got.

Pooh, piglet or eeyore...whoever (lol) At WDW you will see every size, shape and "what was that?" and to be honest you don't think twice about it. Everyone is to busy doing their own thing to be concerned with "that person over there". Honest.

I was able to go swimming last time at WDW (first time couldn't fit it in had to much to do...lol). And I slapped on the bathing suit and headed for the pool, all size 22 of me. :) And never looked back.

Enjoy this is your trip!

Ladies...life is much too short to waste it worrying about whether someone is talking about how you look in a bathing suit!!! If people have nothing better to talk about, shame on them! Remember, someone is always going to look better than you and someone is always going to look worse. Have fun!

Well said!!! :)

As a fluffy mom I wear whats comfortable. I found a great skirted suit at Avenue.com. In fact spent the day with my 3 boys & possible future DL at a local theme park and actually walked around in my suit. No worry, very comfortable & had a great time.

Everyone is a light weight frolocking in water - get out there in your brand new bathing suite & ENJOY yourself :thumbsup2

Thank you - I am enjoying and appreciating everyones honest and thoughtful answers. Everyone is right, there are people of all different shapes and sizes, and there will be someone skinnier and heavier than me. I admire people that society deems "gross" because of their size that just go out, and wear their skin proud! Thanks again to you and everyone who answered!
