Swimming at the resort

Ooookayyyyy ... that suit with the bra top is not what I expected.

Right now I feel like my leg is being pulled. First of all, that suit does not seem to come in a size 22 and secondly I don't think someone who would have "men's trunks and a tee-shirt" as a back-up would wear a traditional bikini that exposes their butt and belly like that.

Just to make things clear ... if someone is a size 22 and they can rock a traditional bikini ... YOU GO GIRL! I have seen many women bigger than me love their bodies enough where they completely sell the sexy swimwear. But I just can't see that from someone whose second choice is wearing a men's swim trunks and a t-shirt. The two are complete extremes.

Not sure I follow, no the suit does not come in a 22. The largest they had was a 16, however, somehow, it does fit and does not look too tight or clingy...but I thought bathing suits were not supposed to be loose fitting either. It has just enough breathing room. I am a size 20-22 in jeans, sometimes an 18 depending on the brand. However, the most room I need in jeans is for my hips and thighs. I don't carry most of my weight in my midsection. And as for a "bikini" that exposes my butt as well, I am proud of my big booty!!

I have also decided that I do not give a mouse's tail about what anyone thinks of my choice of suit, or my body. If they don't like it, they don't have to look at it. I feel comfortable in my suit. The only person swimming with me I will care about is my DP, and she loves me for who I am, and that is all that matters!! :)

Girlfriend, I got hips, thighs and a booty on me! I have decided that I don't care what others think, and I'm going to wear my TWO piece suit!!

Good for you mama! :thumbsup2 The suit is lovely-but your self confidence is GORGEOUS!!!

Any unkind comments made say more about the people saying them then you.:snooty: Don't the small stuff or the small people;)

I know you were not talking to me ... but my next trip is in mid-August. I'll be wearing my Land's End tankini when splashing with my swim-team DD. I am VERY lucky to live in Wisconsin and have the Land's End Inlet (with Outlet sections) nearby. The big Land's End Warehouse sale is this weekend. I am thinking about driving the 45 minutes to Dodgeville to see what they have tomorrow. I have been losing weight since I bought my bottoms last year and I think I might need a smaller size :cool1:.

My husband is from Wisconsin! LOL! Small World. Go for it Robin! Lands End has some great suits! I love the tankini's definitely sexy and at the same time modest, if that makes sense! BTW, I'll just miss you at Disney. Our trip is Aug 5 through the 15!! Where are you staying?

I would go for it! Like I said it's a beautiful suit!

Well thank you, I appreciate the compliments and very gracious comments of yours! You seem like a sweetheart with knowledge of fashion! If I remember reading correctly, you will be there mid-august?? We will be there August 10th-18th staying at POP! Not too much longer for us to go!!

Why in the world would you choose a swimsuit 2-3 sizes too small online? No woman in their right mind would do that. You're found out, honey. Move on and find someone else to troll. I'm done feeding you.

Sweets, I'm not sure why you're getting defensive here. I know some people here were just giving you an honest opinion, that's all. I think some people were confused by your choice of a size 16 bikini when you state the you are a size 22. Then you mentioned that you would wear a men's size trunks over your suit to cover any larger areas (hips and thighs.) This just didn't make sense to most of us on here. Plus, you wanted opinions on what you should do? Your question was should you wear your swimsuit or a man's trunks and t shirt. I just assumed your swimsuit was a one piece, not a tiny bikini. There are a lot of swim suits that would look great on larger women and some are very slimming. But I think the swimsuit that you chose is for someone that is a size 8 or smaller. It's a beautiful suit but I think it's geared for some girls/women who are very small. But if you do want to wear it, go for it. That's all.

I am the furthest thing from a troll, and I don't appreciat your false accusations. As I stated before, yes I do wear between a size
20-22 and sometimes even an 18,:3dglasses
depending on the brand. Logically maybe I did buy a swimsuit "2-3" sizes too small, but the point is that it FITS. I also think a woman who is a size 8 would wear a suit around that number, because everyone is shaped differently and things fit people differently, and every brand is different! Why would I "troll" about something personal about myself, the accusation is undeserved and doesn't make sense to me.

No no, I was not being mean or defensive at all, I'm sorry if it came across that way. I was simply stating that instead of being uncomfortable in my new suit, I was taking everyones advice by not caring what other's thought. This is why sometimes I dislike typing and reading online because you can never hear the other's tone of voice or see a smile or smirk. I don't see how a size 16 and a size 8 are comparable by any means, though. And as I stated before, yes, in some brands, I can range between a size 20-22. In Old Navy jeans, I can get away with an 18, and even my old 16's fit, but because they are worn in. Maybe I've lost some weight and hadn't noticed? I'm not sure, but for whatever reason, my new suit fits, and I think it looks nice on me. Although I appreciate honest opinions, I am NOT a "troll," I have been truthful and honest throughout this thread as well as others. I have no reason to lie.
Sorry about the confusion.

And it wasn't purchased online, I bought it at Macy's and tried it on there. If you don't like what you're reading, then take yourself elsewhere. And again, there was no reason to be rude and make false accusations.

I am so upset with how I was portrayed because of a stupid size issue. I even tried the bathing suit on once again after I was name-called to make sure that I wasn't crazy! Even DP said it looked nice and not too tight or too small looking, and she would be the first to tell me if didn't look right! Maybe I came across bigger than I actually am, I don't know. I also can't express enough that brands vary in size, material, etc. I'm also not sure why I can wear size 22-20-18 jeans, yet fit into a size 16 suit. All I know is that I am very hurt by someone's accusations because it could not be farther from the truth. If someone could explain to me how to upload pictures, I will take a pictre of the suit and size off an on myself, but I have come in contact with very nice, generous and sweet people and don't want anyone to think I'm "trolling" or lying. :3dglasses

Sorry but I have to agree with RobinB. How do you go from wearing men's shorts and a tank top to a bikini if you're worried how you'll look in a bathing suit?

Maybe it's just me - I'm still a size 4 but after 7 kids and surgery life hasn't been kind to my tummy! I always wear a one piece (and because I'm insane), usually a skirted one.

I think we were all taken for a ride on this one!

Like I said in above posts, I have come to the conclusion that I don't care about how I look in my suit! I am comfortable in it, and really don't care how other's think I look in it! I will be on vacation, and like others have said, I won't see any of these poeple again, so I deserve to enjoy my vacation and my new suit as much as the next person! But thanks for concern! :)

Maybe I just didn't know the exact definition of "pooh-sized"?

Another question, just for my peace of mind. So, you said the suit I chose, which is a size 16, would be for a woman who is a size 8? If I didn't understand that correctly, please let me know. Otherwise, that is a jump between sizes, even more so than someone who averages 18-22, going to a size 16, so, with that being said, I don't see how someone being a size 8 would come close to fitting into a size 16 bathing suit? I'm just trying to understand your logic behind this theory! Please do not think I am insulting your intelligence, as I know you are very knowledgeable in fashion!:)

Why ask for opinions then - you wanted people to weigh in.

Here's the confusion - first you weren't sure you even wanted to wear a bathing suit, then you go to a bikini.

I just purchased a brand new Nautica bathing suit for half off, who can beat that? However, I also have a pair of mens swimming trunks that I planned on wearing in the first place because I am to put it nicely "pooh-sized," I am about a size 22 in womens, should I wear my new bathing suit and not worry about what others are whispering about my thighs or hips? Or should I stick to the trunks and a tee-shirt to avoid embarrassment? I know not everyone is judgmental but there are some out there, I just don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable having to watch my "thunder thighs" jiggle as I'm walking around the pool area.

This is no offense to any other "pooh-sized" men or women. I just know I have thicker thighs and big hips, other "pooh-sized" men or women may carry their weight elsewhere.

You called yourself "pooh-sized" in your original post.
