Sweet 16 Ideas

Sorry to intrude on your board, but my DSD is turning 16 next month. She wants to have a Luau party. Any ideas of how to decorate or activities to plan. I just want to make sure I don't embarass her if you know what I mean!

Also, How about gift ideas that aren't jewelry, but something that would be a good keepsake!

Luau partys is a cool idea thats like Hawaiin riight ? well if it is l when they get there give out leys [ flower neclaces] in all diffrent colors . games ?? i dont know maybe a DJ and dance floor

when you say gifts do u mean for ur daughter or the guests ??

For a keepsake present, you could take pictures and make a scrapbook.

im so glad someone brought up this topic i turn 16 in february so im trying to figure out what to do as well. .i think im going to go down to the kemah boardwalk with my friends for my sweet sixteen. . .so my advice to you go to someplace where you know you'll have fun and its one of your favorite places to go. .and make sure to only invite your really tight friends thats the best way i think it would be to have a great sweet 16

I dont know. I went to Disney for my sweet 16 and I got to bring my best friend, we also went on the Disney cruise. And on my birthday, my mom made a scavenger hunt. After we finished each task my mom gave us a gift. And it was a braclet and then a charm for every park that we had a task in. I thought it was really cute.

well, i am not 16 yet but i'm sure, every 16 year old would like a car! thats probally not what you mean but, thats what i'd want! um, cash, cute clothes, cd's, or take her out so she could pick what she needs them wrap it up for her to open on her party! jmho!

My 15th birthday is in a few weeks, and for a party favor, I'm burning my friends CDs. I take a bunch of songs they like, and make it into one CD. It's a pretty cool idea, it doesn't take too long, and your friends will love it

A picture scrapbook sounds like a great idea for a gift for her! I was planning on hiring a DJ, but her mother said it was too expensive. So she is compiling a list of songs with itunes that we will be playing. Her mother and I are having it at a small banquet facility, so there will definately be dancing. Luckily she doesn't think of me as a "stepmonster", we get along very well, and her father and I just want to do and give something memorable for her.

This is an awesome idea! I could even print out CD labels with "Nicole's Sweet 16 on them"
