Swan & Dolphin Weddings FAQ

I think I have heard of people dressing up as brides at MNSSHP but usually their policy is no wedding attire. Personally, I wouldn't do it. You'll make a lot of people really mad. We've had a few posts of people sneaking into MK in wedding attire here and many of the DFTW brides get really upset about it because it seems like cheating. If Disney catches on to what you are doing they have the right to ask you to leave the park and not return and that would be a not-so-fun way to end your wedding day. Plus, you'll likely really ruin your dress if it is a long dress.
This is very very true. If you do decide to do this I would recommend not posting about it here on the DIS! :lmao:

Hi Meg sweetie and welcome to our elite little group. I think that you have made a decision that you will not regret!!!
As our other lovely girls have said, you are perfectly entitled to wander around the BW and DD in your wedding attire - anywhere, in fact, but the actual parks.
I agree with the others about not risking going in into MK in your dress. CMs can tell the difference between a 'fake bride' and a real one and things could get difficult!!!!
Welcome, happy planning and keep us up to date with everything!!!!

I understand and thank you girls for your input :thumbsup2 I knew the odds of doing such a thing were very slim, I just figured i'd throw the idea out to see what ya'll thought. Thanks again ladies!

My son and his beautiful fiance are planning a s/d wedding in about 2 years. Just wondering where your guests stayed..at s/d or at disney resorts?

Hi and welcome!!
Congratulations on your son's forthcoming wedding!!
All my guests stayed at either BLT or AKV as I paid for them using my DVC points.
I think we have brides on here who have guests staying at S/D, other WDW resorts and also off property.
Let us know how the planning progresses.

Welcome!! My guests are staying wherever they choose. We are assuming most will stay at Disney resorts or off property. :)

Welcome! We stayed at the Caribbean beach resort (A Disney Moderate resort) and we set up a grand gathering through Disney to link all of our reservations so our rooms would be close together. You can book a room block through Disney too, we just opted not to because the free dining promotion was out during our stay and it was a better deal than what Disney was offering us.

I did a room block for rooms in Boardwalk, Coronado Springs, and All Star Movies. They are staying in the room block or booking their own.

Faith is always taking care of me and everyone else! Yes I did write a post about it and you have the link. Go check it out and then if you have other questions ask away.

I literally just saw that after I commented.
Do you have to book 10 rooms (or did I make that up) and then you get a discount on those rooms?
Thanks :) xx

Oh my gosh, that is a small world!
Yes, everyone is Woottob Bassett is lovely ;) x

I believe you do have to have 10 room nights! :thumbsup2
Yes, when I was working on a room block through Disney leisure travel they told me that at least one night during our stay we had to guarantee 10 rooms.

To book your own room block you just contact Disney leisure travel and they'll help you out. They took my info and a coordinator got back to me with a price, I thought it was too high and said my guests probably wouldn't go for it so she gave me a better price. Ultimately we didn't book through them because free dining came out and it was a better deal for our guests.

We wound up not going for the room block because the rooms were pretty pricey and I honestly found better discounts through sites like Kayak, Travelosity, and AAA.

Plus, I didn't want to worry about having 10 room nights as a lot of our guests are FL residents or were going to stay off property.

I know it's working out well for Teresa though!

Yep you do have to guarantee 10 rooms on 1 night of the stay. It does not have to be throughout the whole trip. Plus they are giving me credit for the DVC rooms I have booked. I just sent them our confirmation numbers for those reservations and they will give us credit for those rooms. So that makes 4 rooms and we know Greg's brother booked his so that is 5 and then his parents booked their room so that is 6 so far for one night. I am almost done!
