I AM taking Jan 2nd off for a 4 day weekend the following week though.

Heading to Mass. today to see parents and oldest DB whose family is going to the Carribean (as in the St John, USVI , not CBR ;) ) for Xmas. Then back again Xmas day for dinner. I SWEAR I am going to WDW next year for Xmas! HOHOHO

Ann....I'm thinking the same thing. Mike will get time from college and as for Justin.....I don't now if he would be playing basketball or not...but it could be worked out.
I want to see the Christmas decorations at all the hotels. It sure would beat this hectic holiday rush.

Back to wrapping now

Hi everyone. We wrapped gifts today, and are preparing for a visit from our DD & family. We are also discussing maybe coming to WDW at Christmastime next year, but it's too early to know for sure. We have been several times the first week of Dec but never at Christmastime. The decorations are absolutely beautiful.

Hello to All!!

We had Luminaria tonight. Hundreds and Hundreds and Hundreds of people come from all over Jacksonville to see all of Avondale streets lined with luminaries. Two blocks from our home there is a live nativity. Horse and carriages and horse with trailers on the back ride people around. It is a wonderful night and in the 40's so much more like Christmas.

No four trees for me this year...Just too tired. We have a tree in our living room which has a big bow, white lights and an angel on the top. I am not kidding. No decorations!!!! We did put a few lights outside yesterday and lined our brick walk with 24 luminaries, so from the outside it looked pretty. George and I both remarked that we will miss this one night when we move to Fleming Island in June.

We leave for Swan at Noon on Christmas, so I may not be able to log on before then as I have soooo much left to do. Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!! All the best to you and your families...

hello everyone!!! :wave2:

i'm back at work now...no more vacation for me...:( at least i only work 2 and a 1/2 days this week...and then 3 and a 1/2 days next week. (just found out we're open jan 2  ) oh well...

i love my house!! it's so big compared to anything i've lived in before!! i promise to post pictures as soon as i can! i found the digital camera but i can't find the cord yet! lol

we're started painting the downstairs. i know...let the home improvements begin! we've chosen three colors to paint all in the downstairs area...living room/dining room, family room, and the kitchen. the floorplan to very open so all of the colors need to coordinate. so we chose a light taupe, a darker taupe, and for the accent wall...PURPLE! we've got the darker taupe walls done, well we still need to do the one in the kitchen, but they look fabulous! we started on the purple wall...well...it's not exactly the shade of purple we were expecting at first. first coat was kinda like fuschia. added second coat...it's now magenta...we'll be adding a few more coats to get it to the right shade!

we've gone on a kind of shopping spree! we have been on such a tight budget that we haven't been able to eat out or buy things on a whim. well...that's certainly changed for now! we've been eating out...probably more than we should...and we've been buying stuff left and right! but it's all been stuff that we need. plus christmas gifts. we bought new dishes! target had one heck of a deal...we just couldn't pass it up. we now have twelve settings that all match...plates, cups, saucers, bowls, another kind of bowl...and then the matching completer set with salt and pepper shakers, gravy boat, napkin rings, etc. we got all of that for $45! these are similar to our new dishes...

we've also bought a new vacuum cleaner...a bagless kind! other than that, we've just purchased little things that we've needed here and there...but now we have to wait til after christmas...we have both asked for so many things (house related) that we don't know what we should or shouldn't buy!

Busy day, but not too bad...

And then tomorrow night have the kiddos for Christmas Eve Eve.... there will even be an Elf coming by!!! (er, um... do you think that someone could arrange for it to be Zooey?) ;)

Tons of gifts under tree for the rascals, so will be two big days o' Christmas present opening, for certain.

Yikers, had no idea that you were that close MS!!!! Would have surely dropped by to say "hello"!!!!
