I'm like you on the decorating Debbie...the only things out are last year's and this year's JCPenney Mickey mini snowglobes!!

Just popped in for a hello...Some interesting family goings-on here the last week or so...haven't gotten into it here, but we are going to see one of my stepsons tonight...he has been estranged from the entire family for nearly 2 years... he got married in May and had a baby boy last week...and wants to reestablish contact ....it's a bit complicated, with lots of pain and anger for DH and his other kids especially, but ...we'll see how it goes...I will get to meet our newest grandbaby at least... send a little PD this way for tonight

I'm feeling better today but cough is still bad. Still not sleeping good.

Anyway another Basketball season is starting and Mike is playing varsity ...of course....that goes without saying....
he's one of the smallest on the team but definitely talented. But the GOOD NEWS is that Justin MADE the JV TEAM
He tries so hard and it paid off !!

I don't know who remembers that last year...as a freshman he tried out and didn't make it. He became manager....which is a someone who helps out the coach with details, book keeping, stats, etc. just to be a part of it.....but really wanted to play.
So we're happy for him!!

I should mention that while athletics come naturally to Mike ...Justin is the natural when it comes to academics....Mike has to work hard at his grades.....so that balances them out and there's no jealousy between them.

So I'll be watching A LOT of Bball games and I'll have a sore butt from those bleachers

we had our quality check this morning on the house...we now have appliances!!!! next wednesday is our homeowner orientation...and we should hopefully close on monday the 15th!!

that's awesome about making JV debbie!! congrats!!!

ann...how is the newest grandbaby? pixie dust to you...i'm sure it's not an easy situation.

Debbie--great news about the boys both of them!
We bought those padded fold-up seats last summer to use at football and hockey ....you could use them in basketballm adn soccer in bleacher seats too. They help the back AND the sore butt! The visit last night was..........mind-boggling in some respects...way too much to try to explain here.... but a beautiful healthy little grandson ...... and positive steps in what has been a very troublign situation...

and I don't have my tree yet. We were going out tomorrow to pick one at a local farm.....if I can't get out to the farm and get my tree this weekend....I'm going to store and buy a fake one
and thats that....Jerry has no say in the matter cuz he's the one that wanted to wait till this weekend.

morning

i loved trying to find the "perfect" tree...but i'd do that the day after thanksgiving...where i lived with my ex, there was a christmas tree farm within a mile from the house. i loved it, as long as it wasn't muddy!!

we got a fake tree a few years ago and it's served it's purpose well...i think this year, we're going to try to get out into the masses on the day after christmas. we want to try and find one of those taller, skinnier fake trees...that way, we'll have 2! the one we have now is alright, but some of the branches are beginning to fall apart. so we'll put that one up in the game room in front of one of the windows and then we'll put the skinny one downstairs in the family room. that way, we don't have one of those trees that sticks 3 feet out into the room, therefore forcing you to rearrange everything just so you don't bump into the tree everytime you leave the room!

we realized last night that we have to do most of our packing this weekend! assuming we close on monday, the 15th, we want to be able to move in that day...well, depending on what time we close. so anyway...we originally thought that we had 2 more weekends to pack up the place. not so...this weekend is totally free. but next weekend...we have DH's work christmas party on friday night...then my christmas party on saturday night. usually not a big deal...but my christmas party, we go up north (3 hour drive) to the company owner's home. he hosts everyone there and cooks a massive meal for us...it's lots of fun! and then he puts us up in a hotel overnight. so...that puts us getting home on sunday sometime! we have this weekend and all of next week (after work of course) to pack it up! yikes...

it's already snowing here...i think we're supposed to get up to 3 inches by tonight...

OK, this is going to sound strange...but I WANT it to snow and be crappy outside tonight - I'm supposed to go to Barry's A&E Live By Request, but I have standby, standby tickets...long story.

If enough people don't show up, I'm in! Then I'll deal with getting home in the middle of whatever horrible conditions are out there (priorities, ya know?)

So help me do a little "snow VIP cancellation dance", wouldja?


Either that, or FIND me someone who can get me in da door!

Debbie- you and I think SO much alike (the tree thing this time) that it's scary I'm hoping we can go out early tomorrow and get one before it gets too bad out there.

We went out in it this morning when there was only a few inches...got a tree from a lot nearby, (after checking the 3-4 lots within a mile of her and going back to the first one then went out for breakfast and have been home watching it snow ever since

a tree at walmart last week and they forgot it in my front hall....so hubby and I got in our trusty 4x4 truck and headed to Portland.....what a drive.......came back after a few hellos and looking good pregnant lady ....and then came back home......then had to go to Home Depot for some other stuff and then came back home......then ......hubby says....lets have D'angelos steak and cheese sub.....so we get two large number 9's......oh they were soooooo good......part of mine is in a big baggy in the fridge....for a snack.......I hate snow....but you guys already know that ....right???????.....Kimberly my daughter spent a few days in Florida visiting her best friend for her birthday....the best friends birthday.....and she may be stuck down there.......whaaaaaa......she is supposed to fly tomorrow at eight am from Orlando to philly and then Philly to Maine.......I need my daughter back in this city....so I can call her anytime I want ....we shall see......stay warm all the people with one or more feet of snow.....***I plum wine for anyone??????????

Thanks to everyone doin' the do...a few VIPs stayed home, and I got to go into the show! I didn't have much on camera time to speak of...on the way in at the beginning of the show, Barry DID shake my hand! I know it's not much, but it was enough to make me like a fool the rest of the night. Of course the show was too fab, but I'm biased. I think it's being re-broadcast...maybe on the 14th? For all those of you who are dying to see Barry sing Christmas songs.

We travelled through a freakin' blizzard to see this man - something I wouldn't even do for my FAMILY. Priorities...priorities!
