I am hoping someone out there will help me. I think I recall some sort of boat ride near Cinderella's Castle that had these beautiful swan boats. Am I nuts or did this ride exist? :confused3

I know it was a long time ago, in the 70's, but were they really there??

From allearsnet.com:

The Swan Boats ran from 1973 until 1983, but finally became too expensive to maintain. The boats were constantly taken out of service with engine problems and even a re-design didn't help much. The old boats have been rumored to still be in use in Orlando's Lake Eola Park, but that rumor is false. The original Swan Boats accommodated up to 26 guests, whereas the Lake Eola boats are quite small and foot-pedal powered. I have heard that the original fleet was sold at Disney Property Control, but no one knows what became of them after that.

Thank you very much. :yay: I am glad that I did not imagine them. :lmao:

I remember riding on those when I was a kid! Those boats were boring to me when I was a kid, but now I think I'd like to float around the moat and relax.

The Swan boat dock area is still there at the Magic Kingdom. It's a great place to take a break since hardly anyone goes down there. There are Swan boats over at the *gasp* Swan. Not sure if they are the original ones but they are there. Not as enchanting but kind of cool.
