Survivor - Vanuatu

Are the men complete idots:rolleyes: , or what?!?! They deserve to implode!! If this keeps up, we're going to have a Survivor 1st of all women in the final 6!

I totaly agree, this TC should have been a no brainer. RORY! He was the one that should have gotten the boot. Not Brady.

But is was SOOO nice not to have Mia there. The women had a chance to really talk and get everthing out in the open. But I still think that Eliza will be a problem. But guess we will see.

And what a great reward. To have someone who knows how to live on the island show you have to survive on it. That was just great!

And did you hear Jeff after the women won imunity? He said "Well now you know that you will be here for at least one more day." Or something like that. I wonder if the women caught that. So I wonder if that means that they will be starting off with a immuntiy challange early on the next show?

Although I wanted to - my kids had other plans at 8:00 on the past couple of Thursdays so I haven't watched Survivor at all and just read this thread to see what was going on - I will try to respond to your questions with what little info my brother & His friends have told me about Mia:

Most of the girls are all from the midwest and what I would term as normal - they tell me that Mia is just really out there and that she is not the type of girl you would want to hang out with - they said the whole time they were around her she just seemed really bizarre - they didn't really see her as the wife who would bring a dish to a barbecue with friends

Her ex seems really sketchy on the details of their romance - or lack thereof - he swears they are working things out - but she did move out of the house they owned together in TX and moved back to NJ/Boston where they met (I am not sure which place she is currently living in - that seems to change a lot) he plans to sell the house and follow her - I am thinking he's delusional and from what I gather about her personality she may be playing him - my brother and his friends think something just isn't right

I saw the said ex in June at my brother's wedding and he told us that his girlfriend was on a reality show produced by Mark Burnett and that he talked to Mark Burnett on the phone all the time - he had no idea what the show was and actually thought that Mia was the host of a new reality show - he told us that he was not willing to sign a confidentiality agreement b/c he stinks at keeping secrets and so she could not tell him anything

My point is this - neither of them seem to stable to me and their stories seem very inconsistent - I will send my brother an e-mail and see what he might be able to find out - but judging by his previous fact-finding missions for me - I don't think we will learn anything new!

I couldn't agree with you more. I sat there watching that show thinking how stupid are these guys. Big surprise for those smart guys next week when it appears that they are mixing up the tribes a little bit. I guess none of those Men every watched the show before to know that they would be mixed up before the merge. Than the women will start picking them off left and right.

GOOD for the Women. They are using their heads.

Also they are sending all the good looking guys home. Now there is nothing left to look at. I wish they would have kept Brady. He was a hottie.

I can't believe the men are so stupid as to get rid of ALL the strong competitors so early in the game! C'mon - the women had that tribal guy show them how to survive on the island, so the men know that the women will be eating and keeping strong; the men needed to keep the stronger (younger) guys around for a while longer!

I wish they wouldn't mix up the tribes next week; like somebody else posted, it would be neat to have the final 5 or 6 all women!

As much of a pain as Eliza is, she really came thru on that challenge. I would have been fumbling around, but DH (the engineer and real good at these things) said right away "put them on the diagonal"; next thing I know, Eliza said the same thing. Thank goodness they didn't choose Scout to guide them!

I don't like the people as much as the previous survivors. The men are old and boring. Mind you, I am their age too! I hope their plan of voting all the youngs guys backfires on them when they merge. The women are definetly smarter! I would get rid of Eliza next.

I'm with you! I have found this season to be somewhat boring (is it just me?), so if they take away all of the cute guys, it's even less fun to watch.

This season is so strange. I have not connected with anyone as of yet. It doesn't appear that any of the men have character.
Like on seasons past you always had someone that was interesting. Like Boston Rob and his schemeing.
These guys are So boring.

I agree that it's just boring this time. I have not connected with anyone either. And yes, the men are not playing a very smart game. IMHO they didn't do a great job of picking people this time around.

i also agree that this season has been somewhat boring, next weeks show looks like its going to be good, the volcano errupting or at least an earthquake and it looks like a merge is going to happen. ::yes::

nawh, I don't think they're going to merge next week. It's way to early. I think they're going to either give them new buff's and have they trade camps or have them draw buffs out of a hat and mix up the teams. (Like they did in the AllStars before the merge. Remember when Amber was the only one who actually traded?)

I agree with you. But I am hoping it is something new that they have to do. Not drawing them out of a bucket like Allstars.

They need to add some excitement to this season

yeah, I think it's sort of boring so far. There are no interesting characters or storylines. I don't even watch the men--nothing good there. It's got to be hard coming up with new stuff. I'll watch until The OC starts up.

ETA: I did like the guy coming to camp to help out the ladies. That was really interesting. Hopefully, the women will be able to build on that knowledge.

Yes, I remember Jeff saying that there was a "key" to figuring it out and that was it.

Interesting how they did 2 mental challenges- I don't remember them doing that before. And the women kicked the guys butts in both of them.

If you can remember back to the Amazon (the last time they had guys vs. girls), they had 2 tribe members come and pick survivors to be on their teams. I think that would be a good way to do it.

And this wasn't the first time they had someone come to help them. In another season they had the red berets come and help them but that didn't go over very well.

And I just wanted to slap Eliza in the beginning when she was arguing with Lisa- she is so immature.

I believe every season starts out the same. I can find lots of old messages, from a variety of message boards, saying how Survivor 5 is so boring, or Survivor 7 is so boring... The game always starts off slow, and we don't really like the contestants much because we haven't gotten to know any of them yet.

I'm not convinced that the strongest team physically wins the early challenges. Many of them are (perhaps by design) focused on balance, or mental challenges, or are physical challengers where being small is an advantage, etc. Physical condition does become a major factor later in the game when everyone is getting tired.

I was just thinking the same thing!

All the hot guys are gone (except one) and this will make for a boring season. I'm sure I'll watch to the bitter end again, but this bunch is so "BLAH". I really don't care what happens now.

Seems mighty strange that someone could be gone from work for six weeks without his superiors realizing it.
