Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Well I guess I was wrong.........but that's OK. I expected Burton to win immunity. Didn't you just love Jeff's comment about Darrah's weight........how nice!

I just loved all the       at tribal council tonight. Sandra's face was priceless!

Jonny at the end........I haven't seen him look like that.....ever!

Hey, I just realized we didn't get a "next time on Survivor" clip. I was waiting to see how Jonny reacts with the girls......watch out. Burton isn't there to protect him........how the mind wanders......:scratchin Now that would be a good end to Survivor.

All I can say about Burton's comment at the end was........dah! I'm sorry but I thought he was a arrogant idiot from the start...."I can trust Jon, he's a great guy, blah, blah, blah," Who stabbed Burton in the back way back in episode 4 - Jon voted Bert and Ernie (:crazy2: ) saying "too much of a threat - Can you dig that, sucka??" If Burton didn't take Jon to the reward than I believe the outcome could have been much different. IMHO that was the stupidest Survivor move ever! Arrogant Idiot.......
(sorry sydally......Burton was a bit of eye-candy though.....)

Can't wait until Sunday!

Did you happen to catch the jury's reaction to the vote-off of Burton. It was great. Rupert, Rhino and Krista were all laughing and hi-fiving. I only wish they could have voted off Burton and John. I hope they get him next time and he doesn't sway Lil.

This was the best episode of the entire season!!!! We always record it in case we get interrupted for some reason, and this is the first time as soon as the show was over we watched most of the show again!!!!

I kind of thought the girls were going to hold together, although you can never be positive. But they were showing so many comments of the guys putting down the women, you can kind of tell they are being set up to look like fools (of course their own fault).

The reaction of the jury was THE BEST!!!!!! And Darrah's face after winning immunity!!! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This episode was SO satisfying! Yay girls! Buh-Bye Burton....and Jon is just so lame----dissing the girls to the camera but at Tribal Council saying how great and strong the are...I loved how when he was saying they all had rode coat tails to get where they were in the game, the showed Darrah picking up her immunity sword. How do you ride coat tails when you win 3 immunities in a row, huh Jon? :p

It was a great show!

I was hoping for Johnnie Rotten to get the boot (and the knife).

But I will settle for Burton this time and JR next.

I see they gave Darrah a bikini top. I guess they were tired of editing her boobs out like they did last week in the underwater challenge when her tube top kept falling down.

She won it last week when she, Lil, and Jon won the reward's challenge to the hotel.

And what was with Burton's comment at the end that he hoped Lill could live with herself for breaking their alliance? Did he forget that just a few minutes prior HE broke their alliance by voting for her? I don't think Jon will be able to sway Lill now that she saw both he and Burton voted to oust her after saying they'd carry her to the final three. Can't wait for Sunday!

In retrospect, I think that Darrah has been playing the game better than I gave her credit for. She has quietly managed to be on the right side all throughout the game and that doesn't continuously happen by accident IMO. We haven't seen her much and I assumed that was due to her not doing anything but now I wonder about the editing.

I don't really think that the competitions are set to help certain people win. They are (supposedly) planned well in advance and the producers have no way of knowing who will still be there. Besides, there are no guarantees. We were all yelling for Darrah to hurry but if she'd fallen in the water again, she might just have lost to Jon.

Planogirl,

That makes sense...I take it all back :-) I plead my total disallusionment because of what happened with Big Brother.

Don't you wonder how Burton is going to feel toward Jon once he views all the taped footage about the lies, etc?
I think he'll see that aligning himself to Jon was a mistake.

I agree that D is playing the game well. She and Sandra have my vote for final two.
My opinion is that Lil will not be voted winner even if it goes to Jury. She was voted off once by the tribe, and I don't believe the jury will reward her since she would only be sitting in the final 2 because the producers brought her back. Goes against the basis of the entire show and simply isn't fair to the other one who did last without the producer's help.
Should be a fun finale!

I was thinking the exact same thing. How can he rant about being betrayed by the person that he just betrayed?

Hello kettle... this is the pot.....

I agree with everyone else, it was a great episode. I am thankful that the women finally got together. I was also amazed at all of the awful things that Burton and Jon were saying about women.

I loved the look on Jon's face at the end, I think he was in shock. I also loved the jury hitting their fists together.

I can't wait until Sunday and will for sure tape it to watch after the kids go to bed.

I would like to see D & L go to the final two because I think that D would win as well. She has been one of the quietest and sometimes that is the smartest way to play the game.

I cannot believe what Burton said about Lill. What an incredible *****. (Use your imagination -- I couldn't come up with a word that was suitably negative, and even if I did, the system would have to have filtered it out!!!! :) ) She should feel bad about turning on him -- WHEN HE ACTUALLY JUST VOTED AGAINST HER???!!!???!!!

I am not convinced that is the way it is done.
The earlier poster is indeed correct. By law, the rules of the game are set before it begins. The rules include those revealed to the contestants and those not revealed (and each set must be declared as such). Given the scrutiny Survivor has gained from the lawsuit, you can rest assured that the law is obeyed to the letter.
And if Darrah is not sitting in the winner's chair on Sunday night I will be very surprised.
Me too.
I do know that last summer I watched my first Big Brother. And I had the live feeds. What actually happened in the house, and the edited version shown to the TV audience were as different as night and day. It is all in the editing. It left me with a huge distrust for the producers of these shows.
That shouldn't inspire "distrust." They're SUPPOSED to edit what they tape so that the broadcast gets the best ratings. It's what commercial television is for. Editing doesn't change the competition, or the results of the game. It just makes watching the game more interesting for everyone.

Soon to come.... Jon tries to sway Sandra's vote by convincing her he is the only slime ball she can beat

Just a guess

Say, does anyone else think Burton sounds like Tom Brokaw?

That said, what a great episode. I sure hope the gals stick together and vote scumbucket Jon off next.

I'm a newbie to survivor, just tuning it in this year. Love the show-and Ruppert!! How does the last show work? There are no more tribal councils? Are there only skill games the last show? Thanks

Just saw Burton on the Early show. He denies saying anything negative about women? Was I hallucinating last night??? I used to think he was a hunk but by the end of last night's show I was JUMPING FOR JOY when he was booted. What a jerk!

A woman called in and asked him about the line he said about Lil being able to live with herself. She asked How can you live with YOURSELF? He felt no pain, he seemed to think she was the one who broke the alliance so he could live with himself. I'm glad that he can because I couldn't imagine anyone else living with his self importance. UGH!

Love, love, LOVED the show last night!! And with Burton talking about Lill breaking the alliance -- well, not only did he VOTE for her at Tribal Council but didn't he hatch the plan to pull Sandra in as the "final three"?

Glad the women played the guys like they did last night. Buh-bye!!

And, I'm sorry, but Lill has to go NOW. I've never heard such whining, oh-woe-is-me, forehead slapping dribble in my life. I'm the same age as she is and she's a disgrace to 50 year old women.

Loved Rupert, Christa & Rhino celebrating on the jury that Burton was out. Never seen such reaction from usually a stoic jury!!

LOVED last night's episode!

If I were one of those women (well if I was I would have started voting out those jerks when they had a 5-2 advantage but I digress)... If I was there right now I would be lounging back and telling my new "cabana boy" aka pondscum Jon to "fetch me some water and a coconut and make it snappy" :teeth:
