Survivor: Palau...official Thread

I'm embarrassed to say that Wanda was from my state. Not sorry that she didn't make it. I didn't like Jolanda either.

My husband informed me before the show started that Wanda was the teacher of a guy that he works with and from what he told my husband about her, I was not surprised that she didn't get picked.

I was so bummed that Jonathan was sent home, I was really pulling for him, he just got over beating testicular cancer. Poor guy. Maybe they will bring them back half way through to shake things up. I cant imagine them doing that within the first 10 min but they did say they were going to shake things up this season. I also think Wacky Wanda makes for good tv and i think they will use her again for ratings.

I've never watched Survivor from the beginning before. To be honest, I've never watched more than a couple of minutes of a couple of episodes before. I watched tonight and I'm hooked. I definitely would've picked the blonde muscle guy over the hairdresser though (okay, maybe not for my tribe, but for me personally! :) )

No help my butt! They got there and found a map to water, tools, shelter stuff, shoes.... I was very disappointed with the misleading advertising they did for this one. They made it sound like 3 people were gonna walk off b/c it was too tough to stick around and that was definitely not the case!

Thumbs down for the first episode, but I will still watch.

Does anyone know if they are going to re-run this episode? Sadly, I missed it.

ITA I think that those two will be back midway through the game!

I felt sorry for the the people who didn't get chosen, that had to suc* and it must have made them feel like they were in school all over again... I also felt bad for Angie after she was so happy that she had something in comon with that one guy and then he doesn't even pick her after he was picked, that was pretty cold :cold:

We were wondering if Jonathan did something to annoy people? It was weird seeing him not get picked.

For the first time they voted off the same person I wanted. Jolanda looked like a big pain in the neck. I know I don't like Cory, between him telling everyone to get rid of Jonathan, then not picking Angie who he felt so connected to. He looks like a slimeball.

I think he was just quiet, he spent all day working and just never stopped to talk to people. Even that jerk Coby(I really don't like him) was complaining Jonothan didn't talk to him. Poor guy could just be shy and they took it as him being stuck up maybe?

I liked the episode, I never put much stock in the whole they won't have help thing so I wasn't disappointed. I think this season definitely has potential to be better then the last one, I thought last season was a real snoozer.

I saw the Survivor:Palau preview show on the TV Guide channel, and I can almost guarantee that one of the [first] three will be Wacky Wanda. She was interviewed on the show for all of about 30 seconds. And it took a lot of willpower to stop myself from throwing something at the screen while she was on. Something heavy.
She was even more annoying tonight. I hope they don't bring her back, but I have a feeling that they will. Jonathan looked really depressed as he was leaving. Do you think it was because he lost, or because he's gotta spend the next 39 days holed up in a hotel with Wanda? :rotfl:

OT: Boy, is Palau beautiful!!!

I kind of liked the new twist of picking teams etc. What I didn't like was how they really left us not knowing really anything about the winning tribe's new beach etc other than they lost the "fire box."

LOL~ I'd be depressed too if I had to stay with her.. :bitelip:

I'm glad it was Jo too. WAY too bossy.
I'm kindof rooting for James because he lives in my town. I don't know him, but he seems like a "good ole country boy". But OMG that accent. :rotfl:
I PROMISE we don't all sound like that. I think this is the first time anyone from Alabama has been on Survivor and there are THREE! How funny is that?

UGGG, DH forgot to program the TiVo for Survivor tonight, so we only saw the last 15 minutes. Do they have more than 2 teams, and how did they vote off 3 people tonight. Who were they, as I only saw them vote off Jo. Since I didn't see the entire thing, I don't know if that was a good choice. It seems as though they got rid of one of their strongest for competitions too soon. I would have gotten rid of the other girl... forgot her name, but she is the one with multiple piercings and tatoos.

I have a feeling that part of the reason he was not picked, was because he was not talking to any one. I'm sure if he had had more time to get to know some one, he would have been picked. Then Caryn had already made some kind of pack with Will when they went to get the water, so I think that is the reason he was picked over Jonathan.

But I am glad that Jo is gone. I like Angie. I could not belive that Jo was trying to tell every one that the reson they lost the challage was because of Angie. Jo was the one who wanted to take EVERYTHING... and they are all at fault for not working together to make the boat go in the right direction.

Hey! Guess what? Besides being from "my neck of the woods," Ian Rosenberger (the one who got the "temporary" immunity), used to work at Disney World in 2000! :earseek:

I was looking at his biography on the CBS site and it said that he worked at a street performer at a major amusement park. So I did a little more searching and I found this resume for him: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/i/a/iar104/ . In it is says
Performer The Walt Disney Corporation, EPCOT Summer 2000

-“Tapestry of Nations” Parade performer, manipulated a 23 foot tall body puppet in a parade

setting for over 750,000 park guests

-participated voluntarily in Disney University classes on human relations, customer service,

showmanship, and the “Disney Way”. Earned an honorary “Ducktorate” degree for efforts

over and above job criteria
.

You KNOW that I have added him to my Survivor Fantasy Team! ::yes:: :teeth:

They came to the island by paddling themselves. Jeff meet them out in the water, pointed out the beach that would be home, and told them that their are two immunaty necklaces. One for the first man to the island, and one for the first woman to the island.

The first man to the island was Ian Rosenberger, the 23-year-old dolphin trainer from Key Largo, Florida. The woman, by a finger was Jolanda Jones, the 39-year-old lawyer from Houston, Texas.

They were not seperate tribes at this point. They broke up, some building shelter, others finding water. Some aliances were even being formed.

Day two, Jeff showed up and they were then split into two teams of 9 (18 total) so this means who ever was not picked would be "voted" out of the game.

Ian and Jolanda got first pick. Ian picked first, it had to be a girl. Jolanda picked second, had to be a boy. Then who ever they picked would pick the next person.

When it was all said and done. Wanda Shirk, the 55-year-old English teacher from Ulysses, Pennsylvania and Jonathan Libby, the 23-year-old marketing associate from Dallas, Texas, were sent home.

The two teams were formed:

Blue team: Ulong
Jolanda
Bobby Jon Drinkard
Stephenie
Angie
Jeff Wilson
Ibrehem
Kimberly Mullen
James Miller
Ashlee Ashby

Brown team: Koror
Ian
Katie Gallagher
Tom Westman
Janu Tornell
Gregg
Jennifer Lyon
Coby
Caryn
Willard

For the first night after the tribes were made, they still slept on the same beach.

The next day IMMUNITY & REWARD CHALLENGE: SUPPLY DUMP. This challange had them running through an obstical course, then picking up their choice of supplies water, food, tarp, fire box. They also had to pick up paddles, then they had to run through a swamp and woods, with all that they had picked up, to get to a boat. Here they could put down what supplies they had brought with them, get into the boat, go out in the water to a team flag. Get the flag and bring it back to land.

Brown team: Koror, won the challange, because they only grabed the fire box. While Blue team: Ulong, tried to take EVERYTHING, it was all Jo's idea. Another part of the reward was the winning team could make a choice of either staying on the beach they had been living on for the past two days or they could go to a new beach. They picked the new beach. They also got to take the fire box with them. But they had a problem when going back to there new home, their boat hit a wave wrong and it capsized. The fire box is now on the ocean floor. (But from the previews it looks like they will be trying to get it in the next show.)

Blue team: Ulong, now had to go to TC to vote some one out. Jo, was making the rounds to try and get Angie voted off. Saying the she was the wink link, an outsider and the reason they did not win the challange. But it was not to be and Jo was sent home with 6 votes to Angies 3.

Am I the only one who thinks the winning tribe were idiots for choosing the new beach? Why not go with the devil you know, where there's already some shelter and water? Granted the new beach might be nicer, but maybe not--it just seemed silly to me. But then again, I'm not a risk taker.

I couldn't get why everyone was against Johnathan--he didn't seem to do anything stupid, was just quiet. Wanda, on the other hand, I figured was "gone" the second she stood up on the boat and started singing. I probably would have thrown her to the sharks right then!

I find Angie very annoying--I don't care so much about the tattoos, etc., but she seems to have a poor attitude (wo is me!), and didn't seem to do much or be in good shape. I would have kept Jo, just because she's physically strong. But I really like Janu, aka "Monkey Girl", the Vegas showgirl who shimmied right up that coconut tree. You go, girl!
