Survivor: Palau...official Thread

Am I the only one who thinks the winning tribe were idiots for choosing the new beach? Why not go with the devil you know, where there's already some shelter and water? Granted the new beach might be nicer, but maybe not--it just seemed silly to me. But then again, I'm not a risk taker.

I totally agree - they just won, why not take the beach that already has a shelter - why do more work? And now they have to try to retrieve their fire box from the ocean floor. Some reward. :confused3

Oh and Wacky Wanda - the minute she stood up in the boat and started singing, I KNEW she was gone. If they pull a stunt like bringing her back later on in the show........oh, I don't even want to think about it!! :crazy2:

I think I would have been tempted to push "wacky wanda" off the boat when she wouldn't stop singing. What a Lunatic! I'm glad she's gone. If she made the cut I don't think I would have been able to watch this Survivor Series. :teeth:

Hey! Guess what? Besides being from "my neck of the woods," Ian Rosenberger (the one who got the "temporary" immunity), used to work at Disney World in 2000! :earseek:

I was looking at his biography on the CBS site and it said that he worked at a street performer at a major amusement park. So I did a little more searching and I found this resume for him: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/i/a/iar104/ . In it is says .

You KNOW that I have added him to my Survivor Fantasy Team! ::yes:: :teeth:

He is my favorite already!!

Poor Jonathon..Never had a chance...

Had to laugh at Wacky Wanda though..Easy to do while watching it on TV..You can always turn it off or fast forward... :rotfl2:

Yes, but don't forget this is survivor and they love to throw things in you are not expecting. My first thought was maybe there already was a shelter built and a food reward waiting for them. You know, be selfish make the other team start over but then it backfires because there was a suprise waiting for them.
Does that make sense what I am trying to say? It doesn't seem to be coming out right! LOL
I could see from the previews tho that wasn't the case.....

Poor Wanda should have kept her singing to herself for a little while. That is what did her in I think.

I can't believe they didn't keep Jonathon, he was nice to look at.

I have to agree I thought it was crazy for them to take the unknown camp.
20 people helped to build a camp and you walk away from it.

Also I am sorry but I never saw a wave come and turn the boat. It looked like it just flipped over to me. Maybe someone shifted their weight - like the one that said it was a wave.......Hummmm

I enjoyed last night's show but missed most of TC due to GS cookies being picked up (I'm cookie mom this year). Anyway, Jeff sort of told them to get their act together. Does anyone remember what he said and why? Was it something that was said during TC that I missed?

I do like the group in the Koror tribe more at the moment except for Coby. I'm not real sure about him. But he better watch himself. He looks to be a major instigator of trouble. And to turn his back on Angie....but that's what you have to watch out for when you play the game.

Never did know who Johnathon was until today when I read the boards. Still wonder what Coby had against him. Did anyone see the Early Show?

Wacky Wanda, what can I say except I'm glad we won't have to hear her each week....or maybe we will?

Jolanda, liked her until she began to boss everyone around. Didn't she watch previous shows?

I have to agree. I'll admit, I used to sing crazy songs like that for my children, but I wouldn't DREAM of doing it around a bunch of adults!

I can tell I'm in the minority when I say that I kind of like Coby. I think that he will be a very interesting player in the weeks to come....in a manipulative sort of way. And I was glad to see Willard get picked at the end. He kind of reminds me of Paschal (Pappy) from previous Survivor. I like seeing the mix of old and young on a team.

I am a terrible television watcher because I find it hard to watch every SECOND, but I do know that Coby was planting ideas to vote off Jonathan in every conversation that he had with everyone else. I did not SEE this, but Coby spoke about it when he was talking on camera. I don't think that he had anything against Jonathan, I just think that he used him to get people thinking about NOT voting him (Coby) off. Coby was talking about how nobody really knew anybody yet and did not have a chance to know whether they liked anyone or not. So Coby essentially planted the idea of voting off Jonathan into as many people's minds as he could - thereby saving himself.
Nothing personal, you know. :rolleyes2

What do you all think?

I had picked Wanda for my Fantasy Team. I thought that she might be the next Tina. Well as soon as I saw her on that boat in her black dress, I thought "Oh no. She's a goner." I felt sorry that she had to go so quickly, but I don't think that it would have been pretty for her if she had stayed.

Was Jonathon one of the 2 that jumped off the boat first? There was a guy and gal that jumped off the boat to swim to shore way to early...I thought maybe it was him.

Jonathan was the guy who jumped off the boat way early to try and swim in. On the Early Show he said from the boat it didn't seem like they were making much progress because they were rowing against the current.

Wanda said she trained hard before the show and is an excellent runner and swimmer. She's disappointed people didn't get to see what she could do. She also said they edited it to look like she was annoying people with her singing but she only sang for about a minute on the boat as they were rowing. She also said a lot of people were saying they wanted to learn the songs and pointed out people were crying as she left.

Jo said she was an athlete in school but didn't really have much to say this morning.

I thought this was one of the best first episodes ever and I'm hopeful for a good season!

I have some questions about the fantasy leage.... First... how do we check the scores? Is there a place where they list who was the first interviewed, first in the waer, first for tree mail etc??

If one of your players gets voted out, are you left with only three team members?

This is my first time doing this... I am tickled but confussed! Thanks for the help!

Jonathan looked really depressed as he was leaving. Do you think it was because he lost, or because he's gotta spend the next 39 days holed up in a hotel with Wanda? :rotfl:

Luckily, the early vote-offs get sent on trips to keep them from going home too soon. At least they aren't stuck in a hotel together!

I'm pretty sure that they are sent to an isolated hotel. They won't be in the same room, but they will be together. Maybe Wanda's not as irritating as she appears onscreen. For Jonathan and Jolanda's sake, I sure hope so.

I'll try to answer some questions:

To check scores, you go back to the Survivor web site and select the Fantasy link. If you accept cookies, it should go right to your team; if not, you'll have to log in. Then it'll show your score. (I checked my team this morning and they didn't have the scores from last night on yet; I think they might not do any scoring until the 2nd show.) When you're on the scores screen, there's a link where you can check scores from each episode (like X read tree mail - 10 points), and also if there were any bonus points earned.

You can trade players at any time (except for the day the show airs). There's a button you can click on to trade - it'll show your current players on the left and the other players on the right. And yes, if one of your players gets voted off, you can then trade that person for someone else.

Any other questions, feel free to ask! I've done the fantasy league a couple of seasons, but I never got a decent score. You can ever earn bonus points by watching the interviews online (I think they do them Friday afternoons) and answering questions, but since I'm at work, I can't do that.

Right before the last girl was making her choice between Jonathan and Will - Jeff asked Jonathan how he felt - he seemed a little cocky at that point - saying "Well, I did think I would get chosen before now"... which seemed to indicate that he knew, up against Will, that he would be chosen. Just an observation.

All in all... it was a great first show. I like when the mix it up, after 10 "seasons" it's hard to keep it fresh!

My DH who loves to scuba dive said he would have hoped to be voted off so he could dive for the next 39 days!!!!! He was also upset that they left the "fire" in the water. It will be difficult to remember where it is at if they left no one there. Why not make a rope out of your clothes to go and get it. Smart to send Ian the dolphin trainer down....I'm sure he spends a lot of time in the water.

I agree that Coby is the reason Jonathan got the ax last night. He admitted to planting the idea in everyone'e mind.

Always makes me surprised in the beg. of the season........some of the people seem to have never watched before. You want to be quiet, not bark orders, do not become a leader right away, and do not have the losing team blame you for the first loss!!!!!
