Poor Rob and Amber! They win $1 million dollars on Survivor and may win another million. They definitely have an unfair advantage in Amazing Race because their celebrity allows them to take advantage of citizens' good nature.

I just said to my sister in law last night that it is amazing how they are recognized everywhere they go. I was laughing hyserically when that woman who was helping them last night referred to Rob as "Boston Rob". I think we got to see a glimpse of how their "fame" can also be a disadvantage. People want to stop them and talk to them wherever they go. This must be annoying when you are in a race. They seem to be very gracious to all their fans and the locals they come into contact with during the race.

So, while I'm sure they do have a slight advantage because of their fame it also comes with its disadvantages.

I can't stand Boston Rob...Amber doesn't have enough personality to like or dislike...hope they'll lose on Amazing Race but have a feeling if they came in last it would be a lose the money round instead of being off the show. I haven't enjoyed Amazing Race this time because of their participation.

Kaitlin's mom, yes I read about the name of the winner being leaked out. Two sportsbooks stopped taking bets when one of the teams suddenly began getting a lot of action. I kept reading cause I wanted to know. It won't keep me from watching the show. However I probably will quit watching if Rob and Amber get eliminated. Like em or not they are entertaining. If you want to know who the betting action got heavy on PM me and I'll tell you! Don't want to spoil it for others(assuming they are the winners).

Did I mention, by the way, what a great cruise we had. Calm seas, better weather that in Orlando those two weeks (7th-18th) (rain, rain, go away) and thank goodness we waited out the wind and made it to CC!
What fun we've had with this.
P.S. I'm rooting for Meredith and Gretchen to win AR....what troopers they have been.

I also read about the possible winner. There is an Amazing Race thread over on the Community Board and there is also a possible theory of who the final 3 are and who get elimintated when. You would have to read back through the thread after episode 5.

Does anyone know why the beauty queen and the military guy (Ron & Kelly) didn't get a prize for coming in first this week? Usually, they get a trip or the cars. But, I don't remember them getting anything.

For me . . . I'm routing for the brothers. I think they are cool in everything. They treat each other and everyone else with respect and still can be competative in the race.

And, can you tell me how anyone can be in this type of race and not be able to read a map!? That did the girls out and I couldn't believe it.

Me too! I love Meredith and Gretchen - it really takes a lot for them to go in there and race with the young "kids." I like the brothers too - no infighting, they get along and support each other - equal workers. I'd have to say that in my opinion these are the only 2 teams I can say that about.

I love AR - it's such a great show. I wish I could find someone to go on it with. My DH has too many phobias (and I don't like yucky smells) - anyone want to go with me???

I love AR this time and I enjoyed R & A until this week when they didn't give money to M & G and they passed by the brothers. R & A will feel it if they have a problem later in the game. Overall though, I'm happy with all the remaining teams. However, I'm not happy with the way the beauty queen's partner treats her at times.

That will be the day AR will once again be boring.

I am a great fan of Amazing Race, but he is such a jerk (I'd love to use a harsher word, but this is the Disney Board) that it almost makes me want to quit watching the show. Why in the world would they put those two on another show....talk about ruining a show. Who would want them to win another Million? Where are all the good "regular" people that would play their hearts out to win a million? Where are the "new" reality celebrities. Who wants to watch them again. Their 15 minutes of fame was up a long, long time ago.

I think that it is soo cool that the OP met him, but I have to say I cannot stand him either...was getting scared after the first few posts, wondering why and how I was the only one! LOL Hated (strong word I know) him on both Survivors, especially the Allstars, and dislike them both even more on AR.
BUT in all honestly, if I ran into them, I would be wanting to get pics, and be proud that I met him too! LOL I am glad to hear that he is down to earth and friendly OUTSIDE of these shows....I hope that they are gone soon though. Someone needs to beat them to the yield!

I thought they got cars. Maybe I'm wrong, but it showed the host talking to them, and then it shot away to two vehicles. I wasn't listening too closely, but I got the impression that they were giving them the cars. Like I said, I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

Oh, and speaking of editing, did you notice at the end when the boyfriends came into the pit stop and made the comment about Rob/Amber not stopping, it then showed a shot of Rob shrugging, like "Oh well,", but when it went back to the boyfriends, you could see what looked to be Rob/Amber sitting WAAAYY away in the background on those beds. The show made it look like Rob was directly saying "So what if we didn't stop" to the comment the boyfriends made, but he wasn't even around when that comment was made.

Yeah, the cars were for Ray and Deana. I didn't see Ron and Kelly get anything except for the beds in the middle of nowhere. Phil even said "See those beds over there . . . "

The prizes are giving out randomly sometimes teams in first place get them and sometimes they don't. I know when the boyfriends came in first place they didn't get anything either.

And the Yankees romped the Redsox in yesterday's opener!!
I've been trying to convince my co-worker and her BF to try out for the AR. They are very athletic and competitive. I think it would be an amazing opportunity to rely on wit and instincts and stamina. Much more challenging than Survivor.
The art of editing really can misconstrue and re-context simple statements to make them work for or against a person. I would love to see the behind the scenes segments of AR.
