Oh!! I forgot to ask:

I started watching the first Survivor (Borneo) a little late in the game. Can someone PLEASE tell me what Richard knows about starting fires?

He said he could start one in a second, and when Jeff asked them if they had fire, and they said no, Jeff looked surprised and looked directly at Richard. Someone please fill me in!

They never really explained why Richard could start a fire in a second. I'm assuming he must have a knack for starting fires, which was probably evident in the first season where he won. Maybe he was a Boy Scout or something, I really don't know.

I don't know about Richard and fires as I started watching
the day he won. I think he is hilarious-always naked. I have
to wonder why more folks don't do it. Wouldn't you get tired
of the same clothes all the time? Kinda like wearing the same
shoes everyday, they start to smell. TMI
Well- I too think old winners should have been excluded or
all put on the same team so they wouldn't be the first booted.
Maybe they'll bring them back as the "outcasts" again-that would
be funny to see them all come back once voted off.
I have a feeling this will get interesting. Ethan's got much more
of a personality already in this one than he did in Africa. I like very few of these players. I'm rooting for Rupert, not that it will
do him any good.

I think they should have put the winners on the same tribe. Since there are only four winners participating they could have rounded out the group with second place finishers.

Did anyone get a score on the Survivor fantasy league (CBS)? My score still says 0. Also can't get realitytvplanet.com league to work. It won't let me log-in and Disboards team isn't listed under league leaders.

I hope they have the kinks with the leagues worked out that were driving us crazy last season.

I read somewhere that scoring would not begin until after the 2nd episode so anyone who has not traded Tina still has a chance to trade her without being penalized.

Are there any spots available on any teams? I am on DIS All Stars but will join another team if anyone needs a person.

I agree with someone else about Jenna and Jerri just riding on the raft instead of helping to push it. Jenna actually sat down on the raft right before they were getting ready to push it under the stick thingy and then she put the torch setting up so it would not fit underneath. Was she trying to lose to vote Tina out?

Just received a message from my mom who is in Las Vegas right now. My mom ran into Sue Hawk at some Smoothie Bar yesterday!

My mom said she was very nice, and they talked for some time and took pictures.

I called my mom back, and left her a message: "DID YOU PUMP HER FOR INFORMATION?!"

I'm sure my mom got nothing out of her, but how cool is that?

I watched it on Sunday and I may just watch it again tonight. I might see something I missed the first time. DH says it is stupid but I can usually talk DH him watching it. Besides, who could pass up another chance to see Colby again?

I heard Jeff Probst on the radio this afternoon. He said that this would be a very personal game. That the players have formed friendships outside of the game and would have to choose between their friendships and winning. It should be interesting.

As for Richard and fire... during the first season, there was a point where it was down to about five or six survivors. All signs pointed towards Rich being voted off that night. The immunity challenge involved being the first to start a fire from scratch to burn a string suspended above the fire. Rich won, and it was a very important immunity. Without it he probably wouldn't have gone on to win.

I finally watched last night since I couldn't stay up any longer on Sunday night.

All I can say is, "YAWN" about the first episode. I hope they get better. I'm sure they will, but I guess it's more fun watching people who have no idea what to expect instead of our favorites who have, "been there, done that."

Oh, and Richard just needs to be taken out back and slapped.

Well, due to circumstances beyond my control, I did not get to watch Survivor until tonight (Wednesday). When it became evident that things were happening here that would interfere, I had hubby set up the videotape and tonight was the first opportunity available to watch.

I heard first thing on Monday morning that Tina was voted out so that took a little bit away from watching the show. A little disappointing after waiting forever and then having to postpone it three more days. Good news is that the next episode is tomorrow so I don't have to wait that long.

So many things I wanted to comment on as I read all your comments and now I seemed to have forgotten it all because it is getting late. Oh! One thing was about Ethan and who he has dated. I think I read somewhere that he dated several of the Survivors including both the Jennas and Amber too.

Agreed that Jenna L. weighed down the raft by lying on it instead of help pushing it while in the water and then screwed up precious seconds with the flame being stuck and called for Ethan to rescue.

I'm worried about Rudy with next week's preview. Perhaps Rupert shouldn't have made an alliance with him because he (Rudy) may be down and out soon. Also, maybe it was Rudy who chose to vote for Tina which is why Rupert did same because of their alliance.

I was disappointed in Kathy being stupid in immediately being paranoid that the "guys" had an alliance going on and then trying to make a "girl" alliance and got caught doing same. How dumb can you be!?

I also caught Colby's look when he saw Jerry. It was not a very happy look.

The team I think I like the best so far is the Chapera team even though they are bickering over sleeping quarters versus fire and Susan is keeping herself separate and Alicia is flying off the handle way too soon - I like how they pulled together during the challenge and got the job done. I hope they don't self-destruct. Also, did you notice that they are the only team without a prior winner on it?

Gotta go check out Reality Planet before I head to bed. Can't wait until tomorrow night now.
