I don't think I saw it mentioned here, but if anyone is interested and missed last night's show, they are re-airing it Tuesday night at 8:00pm.

That was an interesting first episode. I didn't watch the first Survivor, just came into the game just before the merge at Australia, so I'm getting to "meet" the first season people for the first time, and I think I like Rudy. I even kinda like Sue for an entertainment value for the moment. No thanks on Richard.

I must have been tired last night, because I didn't notice *why* Rupert's team (it'll take me a few eps to learn the team names) was so far behind. If Jenna and Jerri were being lazy and not helping out, no wonder. I was disappointed to see that team lose the first run out, but I have to admit there are actually people I like on all *3* teams, so I would have been disappointed with any of them.

As for the vote -- I'm rather disappointed in Rupert. I agree, for the way that he seemed to prefer to play last game, he would have been happier teaming up with Tina and Ethan. But, I have to admit, while I'm disappointed in the vote (I wanted Jenna or Jerri to go), I'm not surprised. We did guess that they'd be eliminating past winners first chance they got. But I liked Ethan's reasoning behind why they *shouldn't* be "automatically" eliminated just because they'd won in the past. I'd forgotten how much I like Ethan.

As for fire -- Um. Okay, we have *how* many people who have glasses? Anyone ever heard of using a *lens* to make fire? And even if you *don't* have a lens, you can *make* one with water and a curled bit of hair. And if the "Real Science" (or whatever that show's name is -- science channel "reality" show with scientists "abandoned" on an island and told to make things Gilligan's Island style) challenge and solution is true, you can actually start a fire with nothing more than the water and hair, sunlight and kindling. It'd sure beat trying to do it the way they're going about it. Is there some rule that they *have* to make the fire with the stick and kindling? I do have to admit I liked Lex and Colby's (I think that was the pair, right?) way of switching off so they could try to keep things going.

Did anyone see the interview this morning? I'd like to see a transcript, I always miss that.

I don't have a transcript but I taped it and wrote down a few things that stood out to me.

In watching the clips that the Early Show aired, it looked like Rupert may have been regretful in his decision to link with Jerri and Jenna.

A comment was made that Jenna had it in for Tina from the get go. Tina responded that it wasn't just her but anyone that had won before was a target.

Tina said she knew it was coming.

She said that Tribal Council lasted an hour and a half.

She told Rupert at TC not to link up with Jerri and Jenna. She said her strategy was for Rupert to win.

Tina said that she was tickled that Rupert was there.

Upon seeing the group she was with, she hoped that they weren't her tribe.

All Stars was harder than Australia. There was no water and there was bugs which they didn't have in Australia.

She also said that Rupert was already dehydrated which played a big factor in the Immunity Challenge.

When she was asked how long she prepared for All Stars, she said that they all knew it was coming but there is nothing you can do to prepare for it.

She said that Jerri was different, had learned from Australia. Tina said that she told her that if she had been that way in Australia they wouldn't have voted her off.

Tina was asked if she was a member of the jury and she replied that she couldn't answer that question.

She felt her biggest threat was Rupert.

And when asked who she expected to be there and wasn't was Mike Scupin. I'm not sure if I spelled his name correctly. He was the one who passed out in the fire in Australia. She felt that he deserved to be there since he had to leave because of his injuries. She said that he was a great player and would have been a good addition to All Stars.

FYI - As far as using glasses to start a fire. That only works if you are farsighted. My glasses (for my nearsightedness) actually spread the light out. If you hold them is sunlight, they actually create a shadow directly underneath the lens.

I'll have to try making a lens with a curled hair and a drop of water. That sounds like a fun experiment.

I think Rupert is trying a different strategy this time, by allowing those who "would be" in control to dig their own graves, without having their wrath fall on him. So he lets Jenna and Jerri outst Tina, who could not have gotten too far in the game because of her previous win (right or wrong, that's the way it is) and doesn't let them make him a target by voting against them. And of the two winners, they needed Ethan's strength for the next days more than Tina. Jerri was very uncomfortable having Tina in her tribe, as well, so I'm sure all of those things figured into last night's boot.

Richard Hatch already knows he can't win again, so he's determined to go out an even bigger character than last time, and just shake things up as much as possible. Be prepared for him to get much worse before he finally goes!

I don't think Ethan gets involved with Amber. She and Rob are together from the start. I, too, noticed the editing, with Rob all dreamy over her. This is going to be the first real romance (versus lust) on the show.

I thought I had read someplace, maybe in TV Guide that Ethan & Jenna had thing going on, so I kinda figured she was not going just yet, but I was surprised with Tina.

I am wondering how long before a huge brawl between Sue and Rob M. breaks out.

I don't remember her being very "popular" during her 1st game. In fact, I don't remember her getting much "air time" at all.

ethan was/is seeing the jenna that won survivor from what i understand. shi ann did have a lot of air time between her conflicts with teammates and at the false merge when she gave info to the other tribe.

Go to www.realitytvplanet.com/games Select LEAGUES. Scroll down to Private Leagues and start looking for Survivor 8. So far DIS All Stars is the only Survivor 8 league listed, public or private! Click on Join and follow the instructions!

I think it would be a good idea to use the same user name as your DIS name---or at least close. I had to change mine a little as MaryJ was already taken---hence I'm MaryJ76 at Reality Planet.

Why is Shi Ann there?

That's what I was wondering. She was nothing compared to everyone else that's on All-Stars. They probably chose her as a fill-in for anybody who didn't want to do it again. And yes, Colby did look good last night, as usual.

I just got to finish watching the show. Thankfully I had taped it for my Mom because I feel asleep before Immunity Challenge.

I was really surprised that Rupert didn't go with the Tina/Ethan round. It should be a great season, I just wish Richard didn't think he had to keep his pant off, there really isn't anything exciting about it.

I joined the Reality Planet league, but was still registered as twhitesell. I can't wait for this coming Thursday and I'm so thankful it will be on early.

I saw where someone else mentioned it, but thought I would give a reminder for anyone that missed the show. It is going to be airing again tonight at 8pm at least in our area.

Regarding Shii Ann, I think she was included because she was shaping up to be a masterful player, and was the victim of a format shake-up (remember, that was the episode where the tribes were merged without there being an actual merge, and so they voted as seperate tribes still). I'm glad she's back--she was one of my favorite players, and I was sad to see her go when she was voted off.

Sometimes it seems that a lot of air time can be the kiss of death... as they have lots of time later to highlight the ones that are still around. Will be interesting to see if Shii Ann does make it there for a while...

Sure wish that they had left out the former winners, as seems like it will bog down the game somewhat, as everyone will be taking that into account, and surely they will not not let any of them win, or even get late in the game (ISSBHO)
