Survivor 41

I didn't mind that one when compared to all the hidden advantages. I think the merge shows have become very predictable and this changed it up a bit.
It certainly changed things up.

But that doesn't change the fact that the team that won, who were told they were immune from the vote AND were part of the merged tribe, ended up not being either of those things because the EP made Erica an offer that realistically, she couldn't refuse.

I think at this point I'm watching the season because I don't like not seeing things through. I'm pretty close to being out on 41 though. Certainly out on 42 because it won't be any different.

I am happy that Amazing Race is back in 2022 so at least I'll be able to look forward to that.

Just saw a commercial for Survivor that said 3 episodes left before finale. So how do we get to F3 in finale? Is there another double boot? Do we go into the finale with 5?

My favorite episode so far of the season.

I was initially worried when Erika came up with the plan to split the votes (even though I thought hey she's looking to move up in the ranks) because often the more you complicate the plan the more chances it gives people to back out or come up with some other not as advantageous plan. But I was so glad it worked out.

The look on Liana and Shan's face both priceless. Ricard, well dang he just made me start to rethink my opinion of him with that move. What I thought was interesting is it really did seem like him and Shan had two different ideas despite how communicative they had been. Shan I think probably thought she would get the final say on when they were start gunning for each other and that's a flaw for her. She undervalues the opinions and personalities of others. Ricard played it just about perfect here. I actually respect that for Shan and Ricard they had both played it without the talk of "final 3" like I think many times alliances between two people do.

Yeah it was a case of "game recognizes game" and while I'm sure Shan was super disappointed by the time she reached Ponderosa, I think she respected how well executed the blindside was in that moment.

It was a good episode... and then we get a preview where Julie Chen Probst announces yet another Twist. Ugh.

I feel like Liana wants so badly to be a power player, but her instincts aren't great. I think she would have been able to vote-first, apologize-later to Shan if they successfully gotten Ricard out. Her telling Shan about it set off the actions that led to Shan's demise. With 8 people left (during this ep), I don't really get how she was so offended about getting rid of Ricard. An "alliance" of the 4 of them PLUS Ricard is so short-lived at this point anyway!

Anyway -- was happy how it went down. We were fearful there would be another live tribal and they'd re-align again, so the fact that there wasn't surely shows how good of a blindside it was.

It's amazing how offended she seems to get when she sees her name written down at Tribal.

I think Shan intentionally said you got my vote to make it less likely they take Ricardt to final.
That's def. possible although I think they were already wanting him out. It's possible though that he curried favor by his move to get Shan out but that can also make him seem like a threat in being able to come up with plays. Will be interesting seeing this next episode for the ensuing discussion on just how big that play to get Shan out was.

Happy with that vote out but they were right in saying Ricard may have been the smarter play.
I did think Ricard might be the next one out after they voted Shan out but Xander's point also made sense that he is the bigger target than him so keep him in...but of course that's also the double edged sword. If you don't get him out before he gets too far you may never get him out and into the finals he goes. Strategically I'm not sure if Liana was voted out because she still had strong of a voice to DeShawn and Danny or that she was annoying them lol.

I do like the way that Erika and Xander talk to each other at least in the edits they seem to ping off each other without one being too overbearing..yet at least.

What did everyone think about the Live or Die twist?

I didn't mind it but I think I would have liked it better had Jeff not given the choice to opt out. I feel like if you're going to go there with such a big risk of being the first person to be out of the challenge make it so everyone is at risk. But otherwise I found it intriguing.

I was surprised it was a 1 in 3 chance. I expected 50/50.

Do or die was dumb. Rumors were that Heather went out via it. So rumors aren't completely tracking. Good cause I like a little mystery in what happens.

Glad Liana is out but Ricard was probably the better choice or Xander while you have the chance. The final 3 in the IC beasted it out man and they are the big challenge threats.

I think she was voted out because she was simply annoying and it reduced the alliance to two.
