Survivor 23--South Pacific--No Spoilers**Wed 9/14**

He won't make it to the finals. He simply moved from the bottom of one tribe to the bottom of the other and Coach is just stringing him along.

I didn't think he would make it this far and yet, he's still here. It's not over until it's over. Historically in Survivor, they have given the money to the one who has made bold moves even if they were hated. Of course they were exceptions but I have seen every single Survivor and most of the time that was how it was decided who was awarded the money.

I, for one, am glad Cochran jumped ship. He's been disrespected, mistreated, and used since day one on that tribe. Finally he had the courage to stand up for himself, put on his big boy pants, and make a move.

However, I hated that he instantly turned around and said "I'll explain later." Uh no, not one person on that tribe (except Dawn) deserves any explanation from you for what you did, Cochran.

I only wish Dawn had flipped too. I'd love to see every one of their cocky smiles wiped off as they each get voted off one by one.

At this point, I'd love to see a Cochran and Dawn make it to final 3. I like Coach & Edna as well.

Not sure I can even bear watching next week's episode, lol. Poor Cochran. I sure wish he'd give it to them, but I have a feeling they'll all come down hard on the poor kid and he won't say a word in his defense. :(

I agree with almost everything you have said, I think Coach and Brandon will have his back.

I'm not going to say anything beside I think Cochran will make it pretty far ;)

I agree 100%.

You're right, he owes them no explanation at all. Good for Hantz coming to his defense when that idiot Jim called him a coward. That was the gutsiest move he could have made.

I think a lot of people are underestimating Cochran. He's obviously not a strong player physically, but he's smarter than everyone out there other than Coach. It doesn't take long for someone to get in good with another tribe. He gave Upalu a 2 person advantage last night. That's gonna score big points with that tribe.

For those saying that he ranks 7th on the old Upalu tribe, I wonder if he might rank higher than we think. Upalu might think that Cochran's old tribe will all vote against him at the final tribal, making him a good choice to bring to the final three.

I absolutely agree with this! Almost everyone out there already wrote him off as a non-winner because he's no threat, not physically competetive, not well-liked, and lowest man on everybody's totem pole. If he's not voted off quickly, he almost has nowhere to go but up!

I'm glad he turned! He knew his tribe was going to vote him off 1st once the other tribe members were all gone AND be nasty to him while they made him wait for the inevitable vote.

I thought it was kind of endearing when Brandon (who I dislike a lot) said to Cochran at the end of tribal "stay by me".

I'm wondering, since they had merged, why didn't they go after Coach and Ozzy. I think I'd put them in my sights early on.

And was there ever mention of the other team knowing the big "Hantz" story?

I like Brandon, I don't know why people wanna make him out to be the bad guy

I don't think he's the "bad guy" or the villain (really doesn't seem to be one this year, though Ozzy and the Savaii gang seem to be willing to step up). I just don't like him, especially after his Makayla tirade.

Look for coach to continue to work his magic. When Cochran thought he was going to be the ultimate double agent, Coach saw right through it. He even went as far as to tell Cochran about his younger years when he was picked on also. Cochran is in Coach's camp, he just doesn't know it yet.:surfweb:

I wondered where the heck the decisions came for Keith and Rick came from? I wasn't expecting that.
I think they chose Keith because they asked Cochran who he'd like to see go first and Cochran said Keith because Keith treated him the worst.

I wondered where the heck the decisions came for Keith and Rick came from? I wasn't expecting that. And unfortunately, I had Keith in the office pool. :rotfl2:

Even if the flip doesn't bode well for Cochran, at least his conscience will be clear about moving from a team that berated him as much as they did.
Savaii discussed the reason for picking Rick and if I understood correctly, they were looking at the TC coming to a draw twice and having to do the rock thing. I don't quite understand the rock thing but something was said that Rick would be safe from the draw and they thought they had better odds than Upolu did and would take the chance that one of Upolu's stronger members picking the black rock.

I would have loved seeing their faces. It's a shame they robbed us of that unless it was just downright uneventful.

Some of it may be that he just seems crazy. I like him too.

I think Dawn and Cochran are still going to work together. It would have unnecessarily poisoned the jury for her to vote with Cochran last night. She's in a position hang in with Savaii and be Cochran's "double agent" now. If Upolu systematically takes out Savaii there will come a point when some of them will have to break from the group to keep control in the game. That's when Cochran and Dawn's stock suddenly goes way up.

I'll be interested to see what "explanation" Cochran has for his former tribemates. I don't think he needs to explain himself but maybe the attempt will reveal if he's really a good strategic player or just lucky up to this point.

From seeing next week's scenes, it looks like Savaii deals with Cochran fairly harshly. And then Jim?, the marijuana guy, trys to shake things up and pull some of Upolo along with him in a big move.

Bold moves yes, but the winners have also been able to show they were good at other things as well. Cochrane is not good at anything.

The fact that Coach can work his "magic" says a lot for this group of Survivors.

I liked that too.

And sometimes I don't care much for Brandon either. There are times when he is overly-dramatic, IMO.

And I like Cochran.

I dont care so much that Cochrane flipped, it was him turning around right away saying "I can explain!!" that I did not like.

Agreed. He is good at the video confessionals but that's it. Not a provider, not good at puzzles (so he says... I don't recall seeing him do a puzzle) not strong...

I actually don't think his flip was because he was making a bold move. I think he did it because he really didn't want to draw a rock. I don't even think he really did it because he hated his tribe (although, that certainly made it easier). He just didn't want to take the odds with drawing that purple rock. I am also unclear as to what Cochran got for his big flip. I didn't really see any guarantees or promises from the other side, besides a vague "we'll protect you."
