I am glad this season is over. The people were boring, too predictable, too much emphasis on religion, arrogant Ozzy, cult leader Coach... I just didn't like it very much.
I am glad, however, that Sophie beat Ozzy in the challenge and went on to win the $$. Out of the three remaining survivors I think she deserved it the most.

Looking forward to next season!! I hope there is no RI, nor returning players. Bring back two challenges each week-- one for reward and another one for immunity. Also, I liked when the last immunity challenge was endurance and the winner picked who would be in the final 2 with them.

I thought it was a good season. I knew Albert didn't have a chance at winning, he really sealed his fate not giving the idol back to Brandon. I'm sure that turned off some people.
Coach talked about honor and integrity, but then lied and stabbed people in the back, thus making him a hypocrite, so I thought that spoiled his chances.
Sophie played a pretty good game, although she apparently wasn't very good at the social thing. Once Ozzy was gone, I thought she would win.
I wasn't a big fan of Brandon, but he doesn't deserve to be mistreated by his family. He should just stick to his wife and kids, and tell his "family" to go stick it.

I agree! I miss the two challenges. It added a whole other dimension to the game. And when one of the final three wins immunity and has to decide who goes to the final two. I think that's how Amanda lost Micronesia to Parvarti...she chose Parvarti for the final 2 over Cirie, who voted for Parvarti.

A while back I purchased Season ONE on DVD. DH and I were talking about the changes that have occurred over the years (they don't eat gross stuff anymore, do they?) and I wanted to remember how it all started. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I think so. I didn't see any boot list info posted or challenge info prior to the challenge.
Some people consider it spoiler info to talk about the show while it's airing but to me that isn't a spoiler.

Agree. DMRick already posted that there were no spoilers. I just wouldn't check this thread until after I'd watched the show. There was speculation, but no spoilers.

I don't mind the returning players too much, but I too would like to see RI gone and two challenges/week.

I wonder if the show's producers wanted the 3 person finale so that if the one person nobody likes wins final immunity, the vote wouldn't be so obvious and one sided?

I think in the game of Survivor, most people going into it would know that hyprocricy and back-stabbing are part of the game.

What a lackluster final three. I didn't like ANY of them, but I suppose I would have preferred to see Coach win, since he was the mastermind and STILL managed to be pleasant.

Hopefully next season is better.

I think Coach should have won out of those three, as well. Sophie would not go against Coach the entire season, he was the one that called the shots. I think what killed him in the end was that he didn't really own up to them. Sohpie had the best argument at the end but I still don't think she deserved it.

I also would have been ok with Ozzy winning. He is not a social strategist but he does have the physical domination side.

I actually liked a lot of this cast. There were many "characters" -- Brandon, Dawn, Coach, Ozzy, Cochran, Jim... lots of different personalities.

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, with 3 people in the finals, they're always at risk for a two person tie. (4-4-1) I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

I wonder if the winner would be the one with the least votes against them during the season. That's kind of how they do it in soccer at tournaments we've attended...if there is a tie between teams, they go to "goals against".

I have a faint memory of the number of times your name showed up at a tribal council having an impact?

Unless you consider that challenge where they had to rip off pieces of the pig as a gross food challenge. That was pretty gross after all

Mare, what you'll find most noticeable is the low production quality! It almost looks like a home movie. And on the cut where Jeff Probst makes commentary, he mentions that the torches were right out of IKEA. It's definitely worth a watch!

I went and looked at the final Ponderosa clips out of curiosity. Cochran was basically shunned to the very end by the Savaii group. Brandon lost the most, 30 pounds. I felt so sorry for him. He was so proud of the way he played the game. He just knew that Russell would be proud of him. None of the jury cared for the final three, except for Cochran. His attitude was totally different than the rest of them.

During the reunion show, I noticed Whitney seemed to be over the whole experience and was no longer mad at Cochran. But Jim on the other hand still seemed snippy when Jeff asked if he would do anything differently he said something like "except Cochran"...or something like that. Jim needs to grow a set and get over it already! He acts like a child for heaven sake!

I would have liked to have seen Cochran go off on Jim, Whitney, Dawn and Keith when they acted the way they did to him at Ponderosa. I know I would have!

Yeah, after 20+ seasons you'd think most contestants would have a clue. But many feel that the hypocrisy and backstabbing is only supposed to happen to OTHER people, not to ME!!!

I don't think that Jeff spent much time with anyone but Ozzy. He did let Cochran have the floor some but cut him off after a bit. Ozzy, on the other hand, was allowed to talk all he wanted.

Does anyone know who Jeff thought should win?
