Survivor 23--South Pacific--No Spoilers**Wed 9/14**

I don't know which is harder to watch: Russell or his nephew! Brandon is just a nut case - I'm reminded of Jimmy Carter confessing that he "lusted after a woman in his heart". So Brandon finds Mikayla attractive and wants to vote her off for that reason? Idiot! You have to keep the strong players around until the merge, and if you can't control your raging hormones, then GROW UP! (Besides, how "attractive" can someone be after a few days of no showers, no toothpaste, no deodorant?) Ewwww.......

Not sorry to see Christine voted off; don't care who survives the Redemption Island duel. I REALLY wish they wouldn't let the tribes watch the RI duel - I think it would add a lot more to all their strategizing if they had no clue who the eventual RI returnee will be. Esp. since they have no idea when that person will be coming back into the game.

I was trying not to judge Brendan. The way he was looking at Makayla could have been staged. Maybe it was all about the editing. But then he opened his mouth. Saying that he was married and he was a "Christian" he had to get rid of Makayla because of the way she made him feel. Meanwhile, Makayla is oblivious to this, and I feel sorry for her. I've seen Law and Order episodes that start off like this. Seeing that Brendan has access to a machete. I'm afraid for her!

Brandon SO gives me the creepy-crawlies!! He is a good "christian" married man, so Mikayla has to go home because she is a young, strong, good-looking woman?? :confused3 WHAT?? Its not like she has "come on to him" or played the temptress or anything, she just is there. As my DH said last night, "she makes him tingle all over and he doesn't like how that makes him feel... poor little boy-child." He really needs to go away, and SOON! And I agree with a PP, it would be hysterical if he and Mikayla ended up on Redemption Island together and had to spend some "Quality Time" - and then she kicked his BUTT in the duel! ;)

I have to admit, I never liked Coach much, and was none too pleased when I heard he was being brought back. But last night, I LOVED watching him at Tribal Council. I loved watching sit there, quietly, peacefully, and metaphorically just reach in and gently stir the pot with that little smile on his face. And Jeff would just sit and giggle. Coach just let everyone incriminate themselves while he sat there and smiled his little smile.

I am liking Albert - he could go far. Very smart, very strong, well-spoken. I really liked when he called Tracy and Christine out (in a gentlemanly manner), and said that Coach's refusal to divulge who told him that they were voting for Mikayla spoke to his honor.

And of course - I :love:LOVE:love: Ozzy! I was so happy when I heard he was being brought back. :cloud9: I am a member of the forever-Ozzy club - I could watch that man climb coconut trees and swim in the waves in those tight little tye-dyed undies alll night long. SIGH.

All in all, not real impressed with the players they have focused on so far this season. Cochrane is OK, a little too goofy to last long. Papa Bear is a little too old to last long. The older lady who had the nervous breakdown early on gets on my nerves, and the poet-chick who is on Redemption is a NUTCASE. Jim (the medical marijuana guy) seems way slimy to me - wouldn't trust him as far as I could kick him. Tracy might be OK now that Christine is gone - couldn't STAND Christine. Brandon HAS TO LEAVE. Edna is fine, but I don't think she'll go too far, unless she finds someone's coat-tails to ride on.

All in all, I am liking Coach, Ozzy, and Albert - but 3 alpha-males will NEVER make the final 3.

Ozzy is a monkey! I never really liked him before, I actually really like him now!

Brandon creeps me out as well. I'm sure some of its editing, but the staring at Mikayla is creepy!

I almost had to turn off the show last. I cannot stand Brandon or Christine. I'm so glad she was sent to RI and I hope Brandon is soon to follow. He is obsessed with Mikayla. Personally I would rather see the strong females that can do lots of stuff as opposed to the ones that just lay around (and by strong female I don't mean bossy or mouthy like Christine).

Not not serious are you? This isn't live you know nothing happened to her

Chiming in after finally watching last night's episode.

Brandon is a crazy man. Stalker crazy. It's clear he is attracted to her and that's why he wants her out. Wonder if they ever ran a background check on him? Honestly this behavior is so red flag...it sounds like the kind of guy who'd date rape a girl, or kill her because he couldn't reconcile his own inner demons. Like an episode of SVU.

He HAS to go. The Hantz family is totally messed up.

Oh no I know nothing happened to her but just by the way he eyes her up and down with his mouth hanging open. It just creepy. There's something seriously wrong with that dude.

Note to Brandon: There are strong, attractive females everywhere. Are you going to ask your boss to fire a coworker because she's attractive? Are you going to ask the owner of the grocery store to kick out the pretty lady in aisle 3 because she's too attractive and you can't focus on shopping?

I think this is something you're going to have to deal with!

Wow! I agree the guy seems a bit strange but that is quite the characterization you made from simply watching a heavily edited tv show.

Sure is. I would certainly hope we are being spoon fed by the producers/editors and that he really isn't the lunatic he looks like.

By know we all know how heavily edited these shows are BUT if hemdoes give them the footage they can't edit it

If he isn't standing in a bush drooling or making comments during his Interviews then they just wouldn't have the footage to edit

So either he is nuts or he's a actor and he's ok with how they are making him looK

I don't think he's stalker crazy but he's got issues that's for sure

Is anyone following his twitter to see if be says that's not how it happened or they took that out of context?

The only good thing I can say about Brandon is at least he fessed up that he was the one to bring up Mikayla's name to Christine and Stacy.

Honestly, I think he is borderline dangerous. If he can't even trust himself around a pretty girl in a bikini on a desert island. You've got to wonder what "demons" he has in his past. I can't believe Survivors psychologists/psychiatrists let this guy on the show. Oh yeah, right. He is Russell Hantz' nephew. Gotta keep milking that cow. Blech!

I must be the only one who liked Christine.lol. I thought it was hysterical when she called Coach a temporary player on the first episode.

I think the fact that he passed the psych test suggests that it's more about what they are showing us, and how they are editing the show and less about Brandon actually being nuts. But, he is also related to Russell so he could have just been manipulating the situation to let him on.

For me, it wasn't what Christine said but how she said it. How she has said a few things has been very blunt and abrasive. She comes across as a token loud b**** and I am not a fan of those people. Because to be honest, in the beginning I though Coach would have a target on his back because he is crazy and Ozzy would because he is too strong in individual challenges. I thought they could be temporary too.

The looks he gives Makayla could be edited, maybe he's looking at something else, but that's it. They can't edit the words coming directly out of his mouth when he goes on his rants about her.

He has some serious unwarranted anger towards her only because she's young, attractive, strong and makes his married bits tingle. That is what I've used to form my opinion of him and, from the words coming out of his mouth, I find him scary creepy.

I don't disagree that he is strange but editing can do a lot of things. If he were truly dangerous, I highly doubt he would be on the show.

Personally, I think we all need to be careful about assssinating a person's actual character based on what we see from an edited reality show.

The producers are the ones assassinating his character. We're just reacting.

I don't recall the producers saying this:

It is perfectly rational to like or dislike a player on one of these reality shows but we need to remember that it is a very skewed version of reality. Big Brother is a perfect example. The actual show portrays the house guests in the manner that furthers the producer's storyline but when you compare that to the information that is taken from the live feeds, you get a completely different picture. From interviews with Survivor players, you find out that the same things is true there as well.

Maybe Brandon is as you say but we will never know based on this show.

That is MY reaction to how he is portrayed. You don't have to like my opinion or agree with me. It's mine all mine.
