Survey Sneak Peak for UK Friends

As many of you may know, I have a survey currently running called "The People of DVC." I was looking at some of the results so far and I think they're sort of interesting.

There have been 501 responses to this point in time. I picked out a few of the statistics that I think are sort of interesting, with a view more towards the UK and Europe:

• Of those people living in the E.U., 89.7% said the the U.K. was their country of residence (there were 26 responses from the U.K., or 5.2% of all responses. Another way to look at it, is if we don't think about country, but rather places, the U.K. would be the 5th largest number of responses. The order being, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Texas, United Kingdom)

• The occupation with the most responses (11.1%) was Education, Training & Library

• 69.6% all respondents indicated that they did not use their points outside for other than a DVC resort

• AP - 36% responded that they did not have own an AP, whereas 64% said that they either owned one or planned on buying one this year

• DDE - 69.6% stated that they did not own a DDE, while 30.4% said that they either owned a DDE or planned on buying it this year

• 42% of the respondents were between 35 and 44 years old.

• It's their treat - 36% of the UK responses from people who go to DVC with relatives other than their spouse/partner and their children/grand children, do so as their treat (they do not charge their relatives). The percentage for ALL responses was 48%.

The survey will remain open through unitl 6AM 5th March UK time. Still trying to get as many responses as possible.

Because there were so many UK responses. I'll see if I can do a bit of slicing and dicing for the UK folks.

I thought I'd let everyone know, that the survey is now up to 531 responses.

In terms of places (not countries) the ranking order for responses would be:

1. New Jersey
2. The United Kingdom
3. New York
4. Illinois
5. Texas

Miffy - no problem. It wasn't that much work at the end of the day. The tool is rather easy, and I had met some really nice DISers who reviewed everything.

I like surveys because I often wonder what other people think. It's interesting to see patterns and differences emerge.

I haven't quite figured out how I am going to make the results available. That might be tricky, especially since the tool allows a fair bit of slicing an dicing.

For instance, there are 552 responses (as of this moment), for household incomce, the majority 18.9% are in the $100,001 - $125,000 per year band. But if we look at just the UK alone, 22.6% are in the $125,001 - $150, 000 band, whereas looking at only the state of Illinois (my home state) 15.8% are in the $70,001 - $85,000 band.

So, I guess that analysis could be time consuming but really quite interesting.
