We are surprising our boys with a trip to Disney in 4 days! I am going to have a big box wrapped with a mickey balloon inside that will float out with little mickey tags attached! I would also like to put a letter in the box that says: Surprise! We are going to Disney World! Maybe with Mickey on the page. Can someone please make that for me! Thanks :)

What a cute idea! We are surprising DS and I do have a helium tank. I think I am going to steal your idea for him. To pay you back I am off to design a letter for you. I am not a DISigner but, I am a graphic designer so hopefully it is good enough lol.

I can't wait to see what your letter looks like!

Some other things you can include in your box:

Mel's (Bababear50) great countdown chains. You can find a link to her photobucket in the "Meet the DISigner's Sticky".

Maybe some candy with a cute Disney wrapper. Mel has some or I have some in my 4shared in the link in my signature.

A frame for a favorite future disney pictures.

I can't wait to see your DISign!

Here are a few other things you can add to the box...if you want to:

1. Mel's (Bababear50) count down chain. You can find a link to her things in photobucket in the "Meet the DISigner" thread.

2. Candy bar or some type of candy wrapper/candy pocket. Kids always love a little bit of candy. Mel has some great ones and I have some in my 4shared as well.

3. A photo frame for their favorite disney picture to put in their room. Put a note in there from Mickey telling them that is what it is for. If you look in my 4shared file...in the "mickey's grand welcome" file and the "mickey welcome letter" subfile...I have blank letters that you can use.

4. A t-shirt if you already have one made. Add a note to be worn at Disney for the first time...unless you have extras and you don't mind it maybe not making the trip.

Great ideas! I am planning on making Tshirts too...just waiting on the disigns! I got the idea for the balloon from the Disney commercials where you see the balloons floating to people! I was going to go to home depot because they have the mickey head paint sample chips and I am going to write their names on them! I think it is a cute idea! Feel free to use it and try the mickey paint chips.....they are adorable!

To really make it magical...have a friend/neighbor/extended family member drop the present (when they know your entire family will be home) at the front door and ring and run.

Then you won't be the one giving it to your child and it will be extra magical!

Another fun thing that I have seen is to string yarn/string all over the yard and have them follow the yarn/string to the present...just make sure they open it up inside so that the balloon doesn't float away.

 well see, I am slow. I guess when you don't have any clip art on your computer that is how it goes. ;)
Anyway here is mine:

The paint chips are a good idea! I used to have some of those Mickey balloon weights around but, I think I might have tossed them. I will have to go check. I like the idea of a shirt too. I think I am doing the tie dye ones (I did them before but, it was a few years ago).

My DS is 4.5 and I hope he is surprised! He was so cute the other day we were watching the MK park disc (I am trying to get him really excited) and I said "Oh I wish we could go RIGHT NOW but, we have to wait a LONG TIME probably when you are 5." and I kind of pouted about it trying to get him to want to go. He said "It's OK Mommy we can use our imagination." He is so sweet.

Adorable! My youngest is the same age and after our third rainy cold day in a row here he just said "lets go to Disney World right now!" I can't to be able to tell him that we are....on Monday!

If you make it a REALLY big box...you could include backpacks for each boy with travel games, food...bascially things to keep them occupied on the trip.

I have to say I LOVE all these ideas.. I sorta wish now that my 4 year old didn't know that we are going in January! party:

You could still take some of these ideas and do something fun. Some people have parties to celebrate their trip to Disney. Most people have a "one month to go" party. Maybe you could throw a family party (invite anyone else that may be going with your family as well...extended family, friends...if it is more than just your immediate family going). It doesn't have to be eleborate...espcially since it will probably be around Christmas...it can just be a dinner party with a few disney decorations.

Then if you really wanted to, you could still do the box and balloon gift for the party.

That's a wonderful idea... More planning to do!!! Woo HOo!!!
