Surf fishing at HH

Is surf fishing allowed at HH? Has anyone ever? I would like to this coming October with my two boys if allowed. If not we'll probably go to Edisto. Does anyone have any other suggestion for surf fishing in S Carolina? Hatteras is kind of far.

While I have never personally done any surf-fishing at HH, it is a common site at the beach. You shouldn't have any problem enjoying the activity.

I don't know what regulations the state has placed on fishing however, so that may need to be checked out in advance.

Has anyone ever seen anyone fishing off the beach at HH?

Or at Vero for that matter.

Fishing is the only thing I enjoy at the beach.

We were just north of HH (Hunting Island) last summer and some folks were fishing from the beach. They caught a baby shark! My boys thought it was VERY cool...but I'll be the first to tell you...that was one unhappy shark!
