Another day, more food! ;)

We had a day planned that was FULL of food! We had gotten up early and decided that we could just have a "small" breakfast at Cabanas.

So, here's my plate

IMG_1962.jpg

Scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and a grilled tomato. Regular fare. To be fair, though, there was a lot to choose from, both hot and cold items! :thumbsup2

IMG_1963.jpg

Tom had the same as I had, he just had added some toast, butter and jam and a breakfast wrap. :thumbsup2

Next up - Cove Cafe
you make the food look so good but cabanas was not top 5 places

Day 18, August 30

Day 18, August 30

Castaway Club Onboard Reception

There still was lots more food to be had. :lmao:

At 11am we were invited to our first Castaway Club Onboard Reception, since we had just turned Gold Castaway Club Members.

We were greeted with a champagne cocktail and some canapes.

IMG_1971-1.jpg

Tom had

IMG_1972.jpg

salmon canapes, while I had

IMG_1973.jpg

brie on crackers, topped with raspberrys. Both were equally yummy and there were lots of other options, but we knew we had another reservation in just half an hour.

When we had to leave we got a little farewell present.

IMG_2040.jpg

A Mickey rice crispy treat! :goodvibes

Palo Brunch Part 2

Next up was the warm course.

IMG_1982-1.jpg

We shared a four cheese pizza, which was wonderful!

IMG_1985.jpg

Tom had the Chicken Cacciatore, which came with Risotto and was moist and very tasty.

IMG_1986-1.jpg

I had the Eggs Florentine, poached egg on sauteed spinach, sitting on top of a toasted English Muffin, topped with Hollandaise sauce. Yummy! :cloud9:

Next up were desserts!

IMG_1989.jpg

I had taken a Tiramisu,

IMG_1990.jpg

a little chocolate tart, a chocolate covered strawberry and a vanilla cream filled profiterole. :cloud9:

IMG_1992-1.jpg

Tom had some fresh fruit salad with a vanilla cream cornel on top, a chocolate covered strawberry and some vanilla joghurt with granola.

To say we were stuffed when we left is kind of an understatement! :rotfl2:

Next up - Skyline
That food is holy cow look like the best i saw on the ship so far this is torture lol but good . and I so love tiramasu and i have to say after cooking with my brother in chicago I made my own chocolate dipped strawberries last sunday they came out good i will send picture .

Day 18, August 30

Skyline

In the afternoon, we met with two very nice friends, Ileana and Debby for drinks at Skyline.

Tom asked the server if he could order a

IMG_2003.jpg

687 special brew beer and sure, he was able to get him one. Guess Tom must have liked it a lot, as this was the second one he got. ;)

Us girls all had cocktails, unfortunately I didn't pay attention to what was ordered, but they all tasted very nice and looked fun too!

IMG_1999-1.jpg

IMG_2005.jpg

After having fun with friends it was time to return to our stateroom and get ready for dinner.

Next up - Palo
those pictures should be in a magazine those drinks look amazing WoW i missed alot Damn another excuse to cruise again :lmao:
you guys are bad influences .:lmao::rotfl::wizard:

Day 18, August 30

Palo

More food for us today, as dinner was at Palo.

We arrived a few minutes early, waited at Meridian and were seated right on time.
Again, Gabriella was our server.

We started our meal with some

IMG_2008.jpg

antipasti. They bring them out on a cart and you can decide what you want. We asked to sample the whole variety. There were olives, rosted peppers and fennel, bressaola and parma ham and large chunks of aged parmesan cheese, all dressed with aged balsamic vinegar. Very yummy!

Once these were placed on the table we were also served some of Palo's

IMG_2010.jpg

IMG_2011.jpg

freshly baked bread from their pizza oven, Grissini sticks, olive and ciabatta rolls, and focaccia bread

and some

IMG_2009.jpg

chive and basil infused butter.

Our starters were the

IMG_2012.jpg

Pizza Margherita, Tomato sauce, Sliced Tomatoes and Mozzarella for me and Gabriella told Tom that he would get a surprise starter, as there were several things he wanted to try.

IMG_2014.jpg

IMG_2017.jpg

Grilled Portobello Mushroom and Polenta with a Roasted Shallot Sauce and a parmesan crisp

IMG_2016.jpg

Sicilian Pesto Marinated Grilled Shrimp on a mussel, crab and cherry tomato ragu and

IMG_2015.jpg

Fritto Misto di Pesce con Olive all' Ascolana. deep-fried calamari, scallops, and mussels with lemon and deep-fried green olives, with delicious marinara dipping sauce. This appetizer sampler sent Tom to appetizer heaven! :cloud9:

Next up was the Palate cleanser

IMG_2020.jpg

Lime sorbet, cold and tart and so nice inbetween courses.

Tom's main course was the

IMG_2022.jpg

Osso Bucco di Vitello, slow-roasted center cut veal shank with gremolata and risotto Milanese. He had ordered this before on the Wonder and loved it and it didn't disappoint this time either. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone and the risotto was cooked perfectly. He really loved it.

But that wasn't all we got .......

We had told Gabriella beforehand that we had enjoyed the

IMG_2025.jpg

Lobster and Mascarpone Ravioli with a light truffle beurre blanc. So she brought us a small portion to share. Yum!!

I had ordered another favourite of ours, (or mine ;)), the

IMG_2026.jpg

the Beef Tenderloin "Palo" served with gorgonzola sauce, which was cooked perfectly and the gorgonzola sauce is perfect with the meat.

There was no question what we would order for dessert.

IMG_2031.jpg

Palo's famous Chocolate Souffle, served with vanilla sauce and chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice-cream.

IMG_2030.jpg

IMG_2032.jpg

IMG_2033.jpg

Gabriella prepared it for us and we just enjoyed this heavenly treat. The souffle is very soft and velvety and tastes wonderful with the liquid chocolate and vanilla sauce. :thumbsup2

Once we had settled the bill, we were served our digestive,

IMG_2035.jpg

lime sorbet on prosecco. Fresh and cool and tart, so good!

Next up - Cabanas

Happy Easter to you too Karin

Your Easter pics made me smile, which is quite something as I am feeling very poorly (bad head cold made worse by getting just in time for a long weekend, sigh!).

What I wouldn't do for one of those lovely cocktails right now (not that I could taste it).

I am glad I could make you smile, even though you are feeling under the weather. :flower3:
Hope you are feeling much better real soon. :thumbsup2

you make the food look so good but cabanas was not top 5 places

Jeff, you know what I think about Cabanas. :goodvibes

well i'm not commenting on cappacino LOL but your dring looked amazing OMG good . I have to ask and i know alot about food what is a Canapes ? they looked good both of them and the mickey treats is always a cake topper for a disney function.

Canapes are small bitesize treats. I think they are very old school French. ;) These were pretty yummy I have to say and we were pretty pleased with the Mickey rice crispy treats as well! :thumbsup2

OMG Palo looks amazing and those pictures are OMG good wish i could eat a picture or 2 :lmao:

Told ya, you need to do Palo on your next cruise! The food is amazing! :goodvibes

The boards can be a bit funny from time to time. :rotfl2:

Hi!
How wonderful that you are going to Australia next year, even if it means that you won't go to WDW.
And maybe there IS a cruise in your future ..... have you cruised with Disney before? It is an awesome experience!

More coming up soon. :thumbsup2

Day 19, August 31

Tow Mater Grill

After 11 nights on board we underestimated packing and had to miss our last dinner service on board. :sad2:

So once we were done packing we headed to Tow Mater Grill to pick up some

IMG_2161.jpg

Hot Dogs! Well, they were really yummy. Unfortunately they had already closed the condiments bar, so they were rather basic, but yummy none the less. :thumbsup2

Next up - Luigi's Pizza

Day 19, August 31

Luigi's Pizza

Our second option came from Luigi's Pizza. Again, we were finished with packing rather late, so there wasn't much choice left and they had just cut a fresh

IMG_2163.jpg

Pepperoni Pizza, so we took two slices as well. Not the very best pizza in the world, but hot and fresh, with gooey cheese on top.

It was time to leave the ship ........

IMG_2164.jpg

even the adult beverages were gone. ;) :rotfl2:

Next up - Debarkation Breakfast

Day 20, September 1

Debarkation Breakfast

It was time to say goodbye to the DREAM and the Fishermans

IMG_2186.jpg

We had one last breakfast on the DREAM .....

Tom had the

IMG_2189.jpg

Route 66, scrambled eggs, bacon, grilled sausage, grilled ham and hash browns. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either. ;)

I had a

IMG_2187.jpg

Ham and Cheese Omelette. And then it was time to say goodbye to our fabulous servers.

IMG_2195.jpg

Next up - In room lunch and dinner

Day 20, September 1

In room lunch and dinner

After 11 days on board a wonderful cruise ship we were hungry for some real simple food, so we stocked up at Publix.

IMG_2219.jpg

IMG_2220.jpg

IMG_2221.jpg

IMG_2222.jpg

...... some salads, pepperoni, bread and condiments ...... heaven on Earth, even though it is very "down to Earth" food.
It was very much enjoyed. :goodvibes

Next up - Enchanted Grove

Day 21, September 2

Enchanted Grove

After a breakfast that consisted of leftovers from the day before we went to the Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning for the Marcelline to Magic Kingdom tour.

After the tour it was time for a drink......

IMG_2260.jpg

Tom had the

IMG_2258.jpg

Strawberry Punch, which was very nice. Very cold, good strawberry taste, but a little on the sweet side.

I had the

IMG_2259.jpg

Raspberry lemonade slush. While I always loved that tart "drink", I did not care for this one. Either they changed the recipe or something was wrong, but this was just cold and rather tasteless and got thrown out after a few sips. Thank god, Tom's drink was large enough to share. ;)

Next up - The Plaza

Day 21, September 2

The Plaza

After some more rides we went to have lunch at the Plaza.

We were promptly seated in the little room off the main dining room and our server was quick to bring our Diet Cokes.

Tom ordered the

IMG_2278.jpg

IMG_2277.jpg

Cheese Steak Sandwich - shaved beef, grilled with onions, mushrooms, red peppers, and white American cheese served on a hoagie roll. The beef was very tender and juicy and there was lots of it, as well as a decent amount of melted cheese. The roll was a bit soft, but nice none the less. He enjoyed it very much.

I ordered the

IMG_2274.jpg

IMG_2275.jpg

Tuna Salad Sandwich - tuna salad with lettuce and tomato on freshly baked croissant. This was great too. The tuna salad was well seasoned and there was more than plenty of it. The croissant was fresh and went surprisingly well with the tuna.
We both had the fries, which were very good. Larger, chunkier ones, which were soft in the middle, but nice and crisp on the outside with just the right amount of salt on them. :goodvibes

Next up - Kouzzina

I love the fries at The Plaza!!! Can't wait to hear about Kouzzina, we love it!

UGH!! I made the mistake of reading near dinner time again.
I know what you mean...every so often just a bologna sandwich hits the spot...You need a little normal food here and there.

YUM! Love the tuna croissant at the Plaza. How was the service? Just curious, as our experiences have been pretty mixed.
