Support group for us no pin people!?

:goodvibes just call them tell them that u are looking for discounts and you are ready to book rooms, wife and i have been 3 times a year for the past 3 years, never got pin number just always called and got 40% every time. called last thursday night looking for discounts got 40% off mkv at contempoary, just be nice with cm and tell cm u adr ready to book

I've heard that advice a billion times - called in March and April no pin.

Called today and YES ..... I have what they are calling "choose your deal " attached to my name. It was 30/30/40 on room only OR free dining (QS for values, regular for mods/ deluxes) OR I think a kids deal (I cut her off on that one politely - our 'kid' is 10 aka disney adult).

So do call if you haven't recently - I took the FD and booked POFQ for Nov 29 - Dec 3!

She said I should have gotten an e-mail (it was for my last registered e-mail address - out of the 3 I was playing with FYI) but I didn't! So well worth calling!!!

I have given up. I would love a 40% pin so I could go deluxe. I would never pay $300 night for a hotel, especially with a 9 night trip.

Does getting a letterhead email mean anything for getting pins? I got two of them today on different emails.

Just wanted to say have a FABULOUS trip! Nine nights anywhere in WDW is awesome. I have friends who could stay Mod/Deluxe but they choose POP every time because they love it. You'll have an incredible time!

I've have zero luck with this whole PIN thing too. Was hoping to have a great deal to convince my DH we should stay onsite when we go in Oct. But you know what? Things happen (or don't) for a reason. Maybe you'll have a great PIN for next time! Think about booking Bounceback if there's an offer in your room, just in case! :goodvibes
 
Ok.... Can I join? I am checking my emails in the middle of the night.... I even assumed my husbands last name. I didn't do that when we got married but for a pin? ANYTHING!

I just called and I have nothing attached to my name. I also checked all 9 of my email addresses again today and nothing there either. She only advised to keep checking their website for new deals since they don't know when anything will come out but when it does that's were it will be posted.

I pretty much have given up and as I said before I am just praying for Disney Visa and/or public FD extending past 10/2.

From my experience it doesn't. I have gotten letterhead on 4 of my 9 email accounts and no pins.

Maybe others have been luckier.

I also gave up sometime last week. I now let days go by without checking my emails... may be I will have a surprise some day. At this point the public offer of 35% deluxe will have to do tho that extra 5% would be so nice.... oh well:confused3

I have gotten every tease email there is: the letterhead, the explore your resort, the create your own video, the order your DVD and every other email that has been reported circulating but STILL NO PIN on 5 diff email accounts. I want to close 2, but I am afraid because as soon as I do.... the system will decide to send an email to it and it will bounce back because I closed it.. tisk tisk
 
We got the letterhead and then nothing...They never send anything but the Disney HELLO newsletter to my email but DH gets stuff like letterhead, snowglobes etc.

So yesterday DH forwards me an email "choose your deal" with the public offers (with 3 letter codes) for FD or 30% off a value. It says "have we
gone mad" with the mad hatter on it. We already have our trip booked w/ FD but is this bringing us any closer to the coveted pin list????? I mean these offers are out there for anyone, but I never got any of these types of emails before, as I said NOTHING comes to my email. I don't need a pin for this trip anymore FD was my ultimate goal, (works best for my family of 5 w/ 4 "adults") but I want to know I CAN get a pin for the future. Next trip maybe there won't be a great public offer......
 
I got that Mad Hatter email as well and yes, it seems it's the same offer that's on the website. The only email offers I ever receive match the website offers. Frustrating.

Do people ever receive pins that are different and not open to the public? I'd love to see one of those. I was hoping for a 30 or 40% off for late in the year, but I'm not getting it. Will move our plans to next year. Hopefully, the discounts will continue.
 
I got the same email yesterday. :confused3 I got very excited until I saw that it was the public offer. I have gone crazy trying to get a pin for my October trip, but am giving up. Hopefully, they will extend some offer for a room discount to cover the dates that I am going.:hourglass

I keep trying.... right now I am attempting to not log on. I think that is the toughest thing to do. I am ready to give up and just hope for something for my mid October trip to be released.
 
:yay: I finally got the white rabbit pin!!! OMG! It was on the account that I set up with my parents address, and it's clear to me that that's what did it. So if you don't have a pin yet, you'll need to use the other tips, but set up an account with an alternate mailing address. At least that's what I firmly believe.

Our original plan was for my parents to come with us, and that was the plan until just about a week ago when they opted to book a cruise instead. So now I need to go into the profile and change it to my home address before I call Disney. Hopefully that will work okay.

Here's exactly what I did in my Pin Quest:

5/7 Set up new account on Disney with new Yahoo address (cleared cookies first). I put my parents address in, which Disney doesn't have because they always book thru AAA
On the profile, I put that I preferred the Boardwalk
Created two itineraries for different weeks - Oct. and December - both saying that we needed accommodations/ buy tickets on site
Looked at packages and saved a Boardwalk package with Deluxe Dining for December.

5/8 More Disney Park Magic Ahead email
5/10 Explore Your Resort email (Boardwalk for dates in my profile)
5/12 A Disney Gift for You email (download a snowglobe)
5/15 Thanks from your Pals at Disney email (stationery)
5/18 Choose your Disney deal email (current public discount offers)
5/19 White Rabbit PIN at 5:19 PM (Eastern time)

I would also note that last night after I got the Choose Your Disney Deal email, I clicked the link and checked out various October and December dates, and then saved two packages which I deleted this morning. I only went in to tinker around one other time, where I saved a Grand Floridian package briefly before deleting it, and I changed my preferred resort at that time to the GF also, which didn't seem to do anything. The White Rabbit Pin came at 5:19 PM today, and it's good for select dates through 12/16/10.

I'll let you guys know if I have any trouble using the pin after I change the address on the profile. I'll change it tonight and call tomorrow. My bigger concern is that the room we want in mid October won't be available with the discount, and our son, who was recently diagnosed with a thyroid disease, and for whom this trip is really for, does not want to stay anywhere but BLT. Not complaining though! We'll figure it out. Thank you all everyone for everything!! :cool1:

Like I said before.... it seems to be the use of a completely different address that does it. That's the only thing that worked for me.

For those still trying....

Try spelling your name differently too, so that they don't relate you to your old address. For instance, if your last name is "Smith", try spelling it "Smythe".
You can always change it after you get your PIN.
In addition to the new address and different spelling of last name, do NOT add your phone number, simply use a newly created email account and check that as your main source of contact (they may be able to link you to your old phone number).

I firmly believe they are targeting "new" Disney.com users with the thought that existing members in their system who have already booked trips in the past are already "hooked".
