My problem is that I don't know WHAT I should be eating!!! I posted a thread about how much to eat maybe a week or two ago after you said you came in at 2000 calories... I was like WHAT?I could never eat 2000 calories and lose weight- on the contrary I'd gain. I just don't know how much I should be eating. I probably hover between 1200 and 1450 on most days during the week.
When I posted the question people said anything from 1200 to 1600 I think.
This week I've dropped to below what I was on Friday so the weekend "weight" is gone and I'm down another 0.6lbs but that's nothing really abnormal. Still in my same "range."
I didn't work out Monday but did 50 min of cardio and abs/stretching on Tuesday, then did body pump yesterday and going for a run today. I've got free lunch at work the next two days so let's see how good I can do. It's always a sandwich, chips and dessert (today will be a sandwich, tomorrow will be chick fil a). I'm hoping to at least not eat the chips!
Great work this week everyone!![]()
when you start running over 15 or so miles a week and doing strength training and cross training your body for sure needs more calories, esp for fuel for longer runs. If I were you I wouldn't go below 1600 if you are working out hard. You will end up doing more harm than good! Just make sure you are making good choices with your calories....lots of fruit, whole grains, veggies, not a lot of processed/refined stuff and you will be good/fuller longer

Ugh. Sunday I was starting to feel better, ate a pancake for breakfast and we got subs (and fries) for lunch, which I ate half for lunch, half for dinner. By last night I was feeling up to taking a walk so I did, it went okay but I was definitely a bit more tired, but I managed to get my running intervals in. My last run was Thursday and I didn't want to have more than 3 days inbetween, last time I skipped 3 days it was really hard for me to get back at it, felt like I was starting over. Last night we watched a movie and I had popcorn and I was at 1550 calories for the day. So not a terrible weekend but not great either.
I'm not too worried about it, but still still not great to see. It is looking like I'll need to take another walk tonight, they are calling for bad weather the next few days. I'm excited but very nervous - I only have 1 more walk with running intervals - then it is straight 25 min runs - which increase to 28 and 30 min over the next 2 weeks! I can't believe I've made it this far and also can't believe that I'll be running 25 minutes in just a couple of days!

I guess it's not so much the running alone, more of knowing what I'm supposed to do, where to go, where to get in line, what time to get there, what time to get in the area to start, how/where to warm up, etc....all of the "unknowns" when you've never done it before. I'm sure once I do it one time I'll be more comfortable!

Cleveland 1/2 marathon today, time 3:02 which is alrighty by me. i haven't plugged my Garmin in for pace yet b/c the mileage was off at the first mile and it took to the finish and still wasn't quite caught up. i've never had this happen before but after mile 1 it was pretty consistent so i used to pace my miles, i was getting anywhere from 13:33 to 14:17....
Ugh...
