Anyone know of a good supermarket not too far from Disney?

I believe there's a Goodings just outside WDW and
also not too far away there's a Publix.

Goodings is very expensive. I would go down the road to Publix (intersection of 535 and 192) or Super Walmart (192, about 2 miles east of 535).

Thanks for the info. I was going to post this question myself. We never needed/wanted a grocery store stop before, but now we're getting ready for our first trip home at WLV next month.

I guess this depends on how many groceries you are going to buy. We usually go to Goodings because it is close, is a lovely store, has a great selection, and we don't buy a tremendous amount of food--but it is expensive. Last trip we went to the SuperWalmart. Frankly, I thought it was a huge, crowded, dirty store. The prices were better but the traffic going down route 192 was horrific. Perhaps we picked a bad time to go. This time we are going to try the Publix and see what that is like. From what I understand,Publix is not far from Goodings so it might be a good compromise.

I will try to give you directions to the supermarket we always go to. It is a Publix and very easy to get to from OKW or BWV. Get to Buena Vista drive and turn onto the road that takes you to Wide World of Sports. Sorry but I can't remember the name of that road but it is near CB and is where they are building the new budget place. At the end of that road (the entrance to WWoS will be right in front of you) take a left onto Osceola Pkw. About a mile down the road on the right you will see Opera Land Hotel being built. Take a right. Just ahead is a highway under pass. Just after you go under the highway is the entrance to Publix on the left. Good luck.

Is the Goodings you are talking about the one in the CrossRoads shopping center at the end of the Hotel plaza?

Thanks for the directions Terry, I was wondering how to get to PUblix also!!!

Mickey_Maniac,

Yes, Goodings is at the end of the hotel plaza. It's directly across the street. If you turn right at that intersection, and travel about 2-3 miles, Publix will be on your left. Couldn't tell you the name of the shopping center, but it was very easy to get to.

Goodings is in Crossroads Plaza, right at the end of Hotel Plaza Boulevard, near DD. Publix is where the directions of a previous post put it...it think the intersection of 535 and 192. Goodings is a nice supermarket, but EXTREMELY expensive!!!!!!!!! Publix is also a nice supermarket, and much more reasonably priced. I have also been to the Supewr WalMart, and was not overwhelmed by it, but it would do in a pinch, I guess. My vote is for Publix!!

If you're using Tiffany TC or a local taxi, they will gladly take you to any of the three places at no extra charge (up to 1/2 @ market). We use Goodings 'cause its convenient and never found it crowded). Don't mind paying the extra cost, 'cause it still cheaper than the General Store.

Best of luck on your trip!

Thank you very much for the useful information for groceries. It sounds like Publix is only about 20 minutes from say, BWV? I don't know my way around. :( Is there a large pharmacy nearby?

The Publix is maybe 10 minutes from BWV or OKW. DO NOT take 192 there, take 535 to 192..it is right at the intersection and 535 is much faster!

Thank you very much. I don't know my way around & I have been waiting for a couple years to get into the BWV. This is incredibly useful info to me.

We stayed at the Poly in January & I went to a WalMart in what I think was Kissimmee. With all the traffic & road construction, it was about 40 minutes each way. WalMart was packed late on a Sunday night, & I stood in line over 30 minutes :(

Goodings is way to expensive! We went ther once or twice years ago, before kids. Publix is good, but I always go to SuperWal-Mart, later in the day. This is also a good place to find some inexpensive"Disney" memorabilia that I give to the kids during the trip as well as inexpensive pool toys.

Map to Walmart From BWV.

Not the fastes route but gets you the idea of where to go.
Publix is on the same route about 2/3 of the way.
