Get up at 6:30am, ready for my trip to the concierge desk, to sort out the mix up from booking in, first I head down to The Maya place and buy 7 of them refillable drinks mugs, fill them up and have a juggling act to get back upstairs, note to self take someone when filling up 7 mugs LOL
Anyways I go down at the concierge desk for 7am, had to wait 5 mins as they where late opening the desk. Oh and I was up early as I wanted to get to the parks early and I guessed going by last nights getting booked in that this problem would take a while, so best to get in early and before the crowds looking to book dinners and so on.
Anyways they go, oh computer never downloaded the information so they need to wait until they can call the person that would deal with Disney UK people at 9am, so was given complementary hopper tickets for the day while they sorted out the mess of the reservation on my room. I had them book us Tonys Town Square at Magic Kingdom for that night also. When I got back later that day I found they had rebooked me in to the hotel, but same rooms, that all seemed fine, but you will find out as my trip report goes along how it wasnt.
The 1st proper day was spent like this:
In morning we went to MGM, the thinking was get the big rides out the way and if everyone in the group can cope with that, then none of the others would be a problem. So in at the deep end we fast pass Rocking Roller Coaster and go into Tower of Terror. Just before we went in we asked for a Baby Swap (correct term is Rider Swap) and the guy joked that they only had babies that cried available for exchange at this time, oh how we laughed
So much to our surprise the rider ticket was valid for 4 days and for 3 people, the brain started ticking over at this point.. Anyway more on how to use these to great advantage in a later post.
We got 3 snacks on the plan that day and also used our counter service for the first time in ABC Commissioner or something like that. Nothing great but at least they knew how to take the full order off both rooms without causing a fuss.
So it was back to the Hotel, now AKL has a nice decent sized pool and the girls all tried it out, along with my son while the parents tested the pool side bar
Later in the evening we went to Magic Kingdom, it was 3 extra hours night, and we also had dinner booked at 9:45pm. So watched a bit of the parade, collected our wrist bands for the extra hours and headed off for the meal. Dinner was nice, however they had us on 2x tables of 4 but I was pre-warned in the morning that would be the case so not a big deal. However what was a big deal was each table had a different server and while both got told the meals should be split correctly over both rooms, they both didnt do it correct. I think the guy who had 2 of us in 1 room wanted to make a bigger tip by making sure 3 where on his bill (but he also included the infant to make 4!!!). So this resulted in 4 coming off the room with 2 people and 4 coming off the room with 5 people.. do the maths, thats 1 person extra they charged for that they shouldnt have.
Any how here is the part I found odd, as I was walking along on the way to go on some rides I was trying to work out what they done, I notice this error and I notice another bigger error. We had 1 full days worth of dinning plan missing from both rooms, that like £140 worth of dinning plan gone. Confused as anything I thought I would sort it in the morning as I did not have a clue what was going on. Of the the rides, and enjoyed all the infant style rides as these where the emptiest that late at night, guess most people taken kids home to bed, but not us cruel parents, we made sure and drag ours on The Pooh ride, Snowhite one, Peter Pan and the Hunted Mansion LOL
So for Day 3 post when I get time, I tell you about missing and extra food.. by the way this story of the missing dinning plan credits and how they went from worse to worse lasted like 6 days or so.. You would not believe how much of my holiday I spend at the concierge desk
and when you consider every other time I been to Disney I have been max of 1 or 2 times to a concierge desk per trip you would be thinking what happened this time, as I was.
