Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

Very good deal!

I have been using my hipster as an everyday purse. The size works for me. I tried the cargo sling out at the store and I felt it was too big for everyday use.

I have to find it in a store, I think, I can't picture the measurements in my head and am afraid it'll look like a diaper bag if it's too big! But I do carry a bunch of carp around...:rotfl:

I think the hipster has even been revamped since the one I have is a retired pattern so it's the older style.

The cargo sling is only an inch or two smaller than my messenger bag and that does feel like a diaper bag! :lmao:

You know me, I have to weigh in on this one. The hipster (neither the new or old designs) are too big or feel like a diaper bag. My goal is to do a Vera versus Vera update this weekend where I compare the two. Yes, I am that much of a geek :).

Oooh! I can't wait to read about it. :hyper:

I am attempting a pretrip report, too, if you'd like to take a look. Your countdown inspired me to make one of my own-although I did it differently.

Five Vincelettes are going on a trip! Hopefully that link works-This is the first time I have tried that!

Also, I'd like to weigh in on the Vera Bradley debate: If you think the Hipster is too big you could always try the MiniHipster. That's what I thought I'd do for my trip this past October. I don't really carry a lot though, and I went with the Libby instead. I loved it!

Both you and Jackie are contributing to my need for a new dis-bag.....:lmao:
Before I joined the DIS, I never thought I would need so much stuff for a Disney Trip. :rotfl2:

I am headed over to check it out! :thumbsup2

I think the hipster is perfect for me at Disney, not too big, not too small, just right. :goodvibes

I just want to wish all of my readers and DIS buddies a very Happy New Year and may all your dreams, disney and otherwise come true in 2009. :goodvibes

With that being said, the last update of 2008!

I want to do a post about our trip resolutions. For our last trip, I had list after list of things we didn't miss, didn't want to do, wanted to try to do etc, etc. It worked for us on our first trip. On previous trips, I was overwhelmed by all of the choices of rides, food and entertainment. My lists were able to help me keep focused and not get discouraged and just go back to the hotel when the parks were frustrating. That being said, we were able to be flexible and make changes on how were feeling and what we wanted to do. Thus, I am not going to have as many lists as before. You know me, I can't have no lists that's just not possible for me! ;)

May 2009 Trip Resolutions.

*Bring my tripod into the parks at night at least once.
For some reason I am very apprehensive about "lugging" in my tripod and then setting it up and using it. I know it's silly but I have this feeling people will think I am rude if I try to take up more space with a tripod. I think I need to promise myself to do it at least one night and then decide if I want to do it more.

*Don't overpack.
I packed waaaaaaaay too much last trip. I want to cut down on our luggage. I had outfits that I didn't even touch last trip, in fact we washed the clothes we were most comfortable in to wear again. So, I will bring less clothes and do laundry if needed.

*Take midday breaks again.
Here's a little secret, LL gets cranky if she's tired. It's good for our vacation and marriage to take a midday break. I am up for trying a relaxing break visiting WL or take a boat ride to one of the resorts if we don't want to go back to POR.

*Don't buy as many souvenirs.
I have never bought so much STUFF as I did on our September trip. I think we both went a little souvie crazy. There are very few things that I would like to buy in May, which will be listed in a future update. ;)

*Take pictures of out of the ordinary things.

Who would have thunk that this simple picture on our first afternoon at Club Cool would spawn a Light Fixture obsession?
2867752116_ddf6a19b13.jpg

Don't worry, I plan to take many, many, many pictures of light fixtures too.

*Enjoy a romantical evening or two.
I can't tell you how often I think about the night we went to Kona Cafe and watched the Electrical Water Pageant from the Poly Beach. It was just Marc & I enjoying each other and relaxing. I hope to have more of those moments on this trip.

*Don't rush, take our time.
A lot of Disney is hurry up and wait and for a person like me who likes to be early that means even more hurry upping and waiting. I don't need to be crazy early for our ADR's, if we miss them, we miss them. There is CS just around the corner.

*Catch a daytime parade.

I've never seen a daytime parade at Disney. I want to see ONE of them!

No matter how many lists....

...and must do's we have on our itinerary, EVERYTHING is subject to change and that is A-Okay. There's always next trip.

Only 143 more days until we if our trip resolutions are kept!!

What a great update, and very timely for those of us going really soon. Thanks for the perspective!

I wish you all the best in the New Year! :cheer2:

I can't believe your trip is almost here! It seems like the last few months have flown by, I don't know if it feels that way for you or not? Are you all ready?

Happy New Year! :scared1:

This was a terrific post LL!!! one of your best....really! Actually that said, and it being new years and all... those are all pretty good resolutions for me for 'real life' too:thumbsup2

happy new year!!

Paula

What great balance you have for the trip - it's bound to be great with that perspective! :goodvibes (Also a great reminder as I start to panic about my upcoming trip!)

I like your trip resolutions! That's a really good idea.

I hear you on the overpacking...I'm looking at my packing lists and thinking that I might have a little too much, but at the same time, I want to be covered if something gets dirty. In my experience, there's a fine line between "overpacking" and "being prepared," and I've always had a hard time staying on that line. :rotfl2:

Happy New Year to you and Marc!

You know, I noticed quite a few people with tripods in September, and more in December. I think you'd be fine. :goodvibes

You know how horrible I am about this, right? And I never quite realized how easy it is to do laundry there! This is a great trip resolution. :thumbsup2

That sounds wonderful, and relaxing.

I love the composition of this shot.

;) ;)

Good for you!

Sounds like you've got a great attitude about this trip, and it should be really enjoyable for both you and Marc.

Fantastic resolutions, LL! I love all of them.

I didn't remember that photo was the one that started it all (the light fixture obsession). I can see why... gorgeous photo.

I am right there with you on the overpacking. In fact it is CRIMINAL how much I lug there and don't even wear. In fact on my flight home in Dec I was so disgusted with myself that I started to make a core packing list. That will hopefully also help me avoid the last minute panicked packing that I seem to do.

How big/heavy is your tripod? I agree, I see lots of people with these. I don't think you'll have any worries. And remember everyone is so busy doing their thing they aren't even going to notice what you're doing.

Mid-day breaks are very important.

As are romantical moments. Not too much detail, please ;) , but are you going to try to plan romantical moments or let them happen?

LOVE your nightswimming tradition. I think that's soo cute (and romantical).

OH what great trip resolutions...I hope you and Marc are able to keep every single one of them!!! ONLY 143 days..it will fly by like nothing...I'm going to countdown with you cuz that means I'm getting really close to the end of school...LOL:rotfl:

If this semester was anything like last..you'll be in Disney before you know it and I'll have another great LL Trip report to read!!

Happy New Year my most wonderful friend...enjoy the next few days!! (Live them up LOL)

Trip resolutions??? I can't keep regular resolutions....trip resolutions would be way to much pressure.;)

I can't believe your trip is almost here! It seems like the last few months have flown by, I don't know if it feels that way for you or not? Are you all ready?

Happy New Year! :scared1:

Yes, these past few months have absolutely flown by...I can't believe we're under three weeks now! I kind of wish we'd be back at three months out. I want to look forward to it longer (weird, I know) and I feel totally unprepared. Clothing is the problem. At this point, I'll be the one wearing only 2 different pairs of pants the whole trip! I ordered all those clothes from Old Navy so long ago (like 8 shirts and 12 pairs of pants) and sent everything back except one shirt. So it was really nice to hear you say that you wore the comfy stuff more than once. I have no problem doing laundry while we're there. Good thing! :lmao:

Sorry about the whining. I'll just be doing lots of shopping after the girls are back in school. It'll all get done, it always does!

The rest of it is pretty much set. Our agenda is good, I'm trying to just have a basic plan, like which order to do things, because I just don't know what to expect, you know? We're gonna go with the flow a bit! pirate:

Thanks for asking! :flower3:
