Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

Thoughts of our Disney Trip have been running around in my head non-stop for the last few days. It's all I have been thinking about lately. Some would call it obsessed, I call it...dedicated. Yup, that's it. Dedicated to planning the best vacation possible for Marc & I. ;)

I promised you obsessing over ADR's in my first post of this PTR and I think I have lived up to that. The obsessing is on overdrive this week. I blame it on the 90 day window. There are a few ADR's I think I am getting rid of. Well, at least I am not going to book them because yeah, I don't have any yet. :rolleyes1 I'm not 100% on any of the "changes" yet so I am going to keep you in suspense a little longer. Just know that I have been glued to the food porn thread, dining reviews and of course the menus on allears. I swear that Marc groans every time he sees me on the allears website.

We've also been toying with our dates. :scared1: We've been thinking about leaving on a late flight on Thursday May 21st. We wouldn't land until 10:30 so it would be straight to POR and sleeping but I think I'm okay with that. I know that I don't want to book a cheaper night at Pop or another value. It's not worth switching resorts the next day. I also like the fact that we would have some dining credits from that night that could be used for later in our vacation.

Now if we arrive late on May 21st...when would we leave....:confused3

How about Friday May 29th? Yes, that would be adding an extra night, technically. If we take the late flight we have been scoping out on the 29th that adds up to more WDW time than our September trip. This makes me EXTREMELY happy.

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3:  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

We started talking about adding an extra night last week when I got the good news at work that our Profit Sharing Bonuses were approved and we are recieving them this week.

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :dancer: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. Now the amount varies, but I am hoping that it will pay for all if not most of our trip balance. So with that of course extra night scheming came into play.

Ooops! I forgot to inform of something very important, which helps to explain why we are thinking of adding an extra night. We officially canceled our December 2009 trip and applied the deposit to our May trip. We are not feeling the December trip as much as we had been a few months ago when we booked. We have some debt to pay down and we want to be smarter this year with money. When we do our December Holiday Trip we want to go all out, deluxe resort, deluxe dining, a Deluxe December if you will and we can't do that this year so we rather wait. That hasn't prevented me from scheming about possible bounceback offers for the fall but we don't need to tell Marc about that yet....

So between canceling December '09, Profit Sharing Bonus and cheaper flights on the 21st and 29th, we've been thinking about doing a little bit of switching. We're going to wait to see how the money situation ends up but I am hoping that we can add a night. Also, some great Trip Report news, I have the week after our Disney Trip off, Marc will have to go back to work so I should be able to get our pictures organized pretty quickly to start the actual Trip Report. I'm excited. :dance3:

I am wondering about how check in will work if we do go with a later flight. Does it matter how late you check in at Disney? Our maybe flight would land around 10:30PM, so I am thinking if we are lucky we could get to Disney a little after Midnight. I am also assuming ME is running that late. Does anyone know if that's true or not?

On a sad note, the beautiful Cotton Candy & Lavender Mickey Crocs I ordered for $17.99 do not fit! :headache: Don't worry I ordered them in December so I haven't broken my no internet shopping rule for January. I was wondering if they would be tight since they are a Woman's 10-11 and I usually wear a straight size 11. I think I might exchange them for my coveted black mary jane crocs. That doesn't count as online shopping if I just exchange, right?

I did some cleaning this past weekend and I as I was going through my clothes I found A LOT of shirts that are Disney worthy. I honestly don't think I need to buy anything except maybe some capri's. I also want to bring a few of the tee's I made for our September trip and maybe make ONE more. I am really trying not to over shop for this trip like I did last time because it was a condition we told ourselves when we booked it. It's so easy to get influenced on the DIS when you hear about others great shopping deals and such. I'm working on a shopping list for a future post which includes anything we need, including toiletries and such.

I feel like I have rambled for this entire update. :upsidedow

Hurrah for a bonus! For an extra night! For cheaper flights! For "extra" dining credits! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am intrigued by what restaurants are making the cut and which ones may be left in the dust. popcorn::

And :lmao: about the bounceback scheming... that bounceback is tempting. :rolleyes1

Oh I'm so excited about the bonus and the extra day for you!!!

I'm also happy that you cancelled December because I think it means good things will happen in 2009 ;)

I have arrived late at night and I actually prefer it. Yes, ME does run and check in works out just fine. I did have them note on my ressie that i was checking in late but I don't know that this was necessary. When you arrive at night, you don't have any wait at check in, your room is always ready, you have extra DDP credits, AND you get to start your first park day rested.

I can't believe you got your Crocs already...didn't I order mine before you??? Mine aren't supposed to come til tomorrow. Now you have me nervous that mine aren't going to fit!

So what ADRs are you changing?

Sad to hear about cancelling the Dec trip, but YEAH for all the good advantages that may lead to for this trip.

On our Nov 07 trip, we checked in late in the evening, but we drove in.......not sure how ME might be affected. Hoping for you that it will still be running. As far as check in at the resort, you will have no issues.....they are there all night! You will be able to go right in and check in too---no waiting in lines, because they (other guests) won't be there!!!

Keep us posted!

That's too bad about the December trip, but I understand completely! There are lots of pluses in your update -- bonus, extra nights, Disney in general!!!

I can't wait to start getting organized with clothes and such -- since I never know how much the kids will grow, I have to wait a little bit longer.

Extra day at Disney WOOOT...I'm all about that!!! I think my solo trip I actually added 2 extra days that weren't supposed to be there LOL!!!!

Congrats on the bonus...I'm so happy for you and Marc...you guys are going to have the best time ever!!!

I'm a victim of the overshopping...I'm promising for my next trip (whenever that might be....I'm seriously discussing with Phillip doing a birthday trip LOL) I'm not really going to buy too much unless I've dropped a few sizes (Working towards that too)!!

I'm sorry about your December trip...but you make sure to make this trip the most amazing thing ever!!! You guys really deserve it and I can't wait to hear more about all your details!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will make it through but that is exactly what I go through right before the trip. Then I start to doubt if we should even go, blah blah blah everything turns out in the end though so it's worth that crazy panic.

I really can't wait for your trip, I think you are going to have a fantastic time.

Thanks! :goodvibes I hope we do! I am pretty sure we will, thinking of all our plans (and lack thereof) makes me veryyyyy excited.

Some would call it obsessed, I call it...dedicated. Yup, that's it. Dedicated to planning the best vacation possible for Marc & I. ;)

I'm so stealing this line to use on DH. I'm DEDICATED honey! DEDICATED! Love it!

Ooooh, I'm looking forward to seeing who makes the cut and who doesn't.

THAT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO-ZERS!!! Extra night, more money - you can't beat it.

Ooops! I forgot to inform of something very important, which helps to explain why we are thinking of adding an extra night. We officially canceled our December 2009 trip and applied the deposit to our May trip.

That's a bummer - BUT I love your "Deluxe December" idea, and it really will pay off in the long run - saving the money, paying down debt, etc. Plus, it will make that "Deluxe December" trip all the more special.

That hasn't prevented me from scheming about possible bounceback offers for the fall but we don't need to tell Marc about that yet....

:rotfl:

I can't help you on the ME stuff....I would imagine it would still be running if flights are still coming in that late...:confused3

That stinks about your new Crocs, and NOPE an exchange does NOT count! :rolleyes1

Yeah for the extra money and the extras on your trip! You guys are going to have such a great time.

Sorry your crocs didn't fit. :sad1: I think I'm a bit in love with the new Alice crocs that I ordered. So comfy even standing for 8 hours at my part time job, and I can actually pull off wearing them at my real job. (with pants at any rate). I tried to go back and order another pair, but the black ones in my size are all gone.:sad1: This of course means they will be discontinued and I'll never find shoes as comfy again.

I know what you mean about over shopping for Disney....if I had to guess....I bet I spent $800 on stuff for the trip. Granted that included 3 pieces of very nice luggage but still.

I guess your Dec trip just wasn't meant to be....isn't this the second time you have canceled it?

Sorry about December - but I'm glad that means an extra day for this trip.

I know what you mean about Disney shopping! I'm trying to control myself too - what started as a budget trip is starting to grow and I don't want it to get out of control. I need to go down to the basement and go through the kids' summer clothes - Alex may need some new stuff since he's a growing boy, but hopefully the rest of us will be ok. Luckily Zachary doesn't mind hand me downs at this point. ;)

Ooooo I can't wait to hear which ADRs get the boot and any new ones that make the cut!

My VB bag came yesterday and its so cute! Hipster definately seems like a park-worthy bag to me! I'm breaking it in today and by breaking it in, I mean wearing it to work as the weather is snow, freezing rain and rain! :sad2:

I really like the idea of extra dining credits. It's quite the bonus in my eyes about staying for an extra night.

I am hoping to get a finalized list of ADR's posted this weekend by the latest. If I don't stop thinking about them I am going to drive MYSELF crazy.

We'll just have to wait and see about the bounceback.
Oh I'm so excited about the bonus and the extra day for you!!!

Good to know! I will have them note it too if that's what we end up doing. I just like to have the reassurance of others who have done what we will be doing if that makes sense.

You will have to wait to see about the ADR's!!

I'm not even really sad about December, which makes me feel like it was the right decision. I know we'll get there during that time of year someday!
A quick check in would be super nice, I just hope they save my mansion room for me!

Lots and lots of pluses!
I was trying to get Marc to pull out one of the suitcases just to set some of my clothes aside that I don't want to get all yucky before then. I am not disciplined enough to not wear them if I keep them in my closest. He rolled his eyes at me though, so I decided to just put them in a bag in my closet.

The over shopping is just ridiculous. I spent way too much money last trip. ANd I am trying to be good.
It seems like everyone is going next December!! That will be sad to miss.

I'm so stealing this line to use on DH. I'm DEDICATED honey! DEDICATED! Love it!

I think the Deluxe December is a good trip to work up too and who knows maybe if we can be really smart with Money it will be our first DVC trip. :lmao:
I think some of my ADR's are changing drastically!

Yeah for the extra money and the extras on your trip! You guys are going to have such a great time.

See, I tried the Alice Crocs and the 11's were too tight. They do sell them in 12's though so I could try though. They also made squeaking noises on my feet but maybe that was because they were too small. I could totally get away with wearing those with pants at work, in fact that was my hope!

I know what you mean about over shopping for Disney....if I had to guess....I bet I spent $800 on stuff for the trip. Granted that included 3 pieces of very nice luggage but still.

It adds up fast!
No, we canceled our bounceback for September, then we weren't going to go in 2009, then we booked December '09, then we booked May '09 and then we canceled December '09. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Hand me downs are great! I told Marc that I would need new crocs, a new bag and maybe some capris so I am trying to stick to that. It's hard though!

Isn't the weather, icky!? :headache: I have been brining my Picadilly Plum VB to work everyday now. I really love it. :lovestruc

I did the same thing awhile back! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Pulled out stuff that I want to make sure stays nice and put it in an empty drawer!

Check-in at a later time shouldn't be a problem. When we went last December and our early flight was cancelled, we didn't get to Orlando until 11:00 at night or so. We also took ME and it was still running. We did have to sit on the bus for 20 minutes I'd say (not too many people are arriving that late!). I don't think we got to the hotel until close to midnight. So you'd be OK. :)

Mine made noises for awhile, but have stopped. My Georgie crocs arrived today, but unfortunately they are going to have to go back. I usually wear a size 8 or 9. These are a size 10 and too small. Weird. I can feel my neuroma acting up just trying them on. They were so cute too.

Good to know that the noises stopped. Too bad about the Georgie Crocs. :sad2:

I was on the croc site last night... 1st time... I just had to see what all these different styles are you all keep talking about!!

I almost ended up buying a pair of Mickey mammoth ones:rolleyes1 but I really like the Brown with the pink fuzz, and they were out of my size. I've been wanting a pair of fuzzy ones anyway, and if the internet shopping conscience wasn't keeping an eye out for me, i'dhave bought them:rotfl2:
