Super Soap Weekend 2008?

Any news on the Susan Lucci breakfast? I can't seem to find any info on the web about it. I am so excited, only 160 days left til I leave for SSW.

OSBOURNE LITES WILL BE THE WEEK AFTER SSW!!! (NOV 28) APPARANTLEY DISNEY WANTS TO SAVE ENERGY BY RUNNING THEM LATER THIS YEAR!:mad:

For Susan's breakfast, go to her official website http://www.susanlucci.com/ and click on "news". I would start checking in August for Information. The tickets didn't go on sale until October last year. I hope you have a great time!

Thank you so much. I was afraid they would be sold out already. I've never been to it and didn't know when they started selling tickets. Have you gone before? What is it like? I hope I can get tickets, Susan is awesome at SSW and I think her breakfast sounds like a lot of fun.

Here is where I wrote in my trip report about Susan's breakfast. We went the last 2 years. It is about halfway down in this installment 2006 and 2007.

Quick question...for previous attendees...I have booked my ADRs at DHS for the 15th & 16th...and really do not want to change them...my question to you is...My family is not interested in any of the Soap Opera events......is the park completely crowded? I was told by a CM that the park may be crowded but the rides are fine because the people who come for SSW are not really riding rides and more likely at the SSW events. True? Should I change my ADR's and attend a different park that day? Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

I have never been but I understand (I have friends that have been and been doing a lot of reading) that many times the park is closed due to capacity by mid-afternoon...But yes, the lines tend to be very short...Getting there early would likely help....I don't know if your plans are for dinner but you may have a problem getting in later in the afternoon...

Anyone else have more information?

:confused3

We're banking on the same thing- ride lines being short or at least average. DH is looking forward to the SSW events- but the kids, not so much! :rotfl: We made our ADR for lunchtime that day, so we could sit down and relax after what might be a hectic morning! If it is going to be as crowded as they say, then counter service might be a mess. We'll probably head out of the park for dinner. This is our first SSW. We are so glad to hit both F&W at Epcot the first weekend of our trip and SSW the last!

As for Osborne Lights not being up until the 28th- well, since it's not on the WDW official website yet, I'd take that with a grain of salt. From what I understand, the TA website that lists it beginning on 11/28 also has Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade at AK starting the 28th... but the WDW website has it beginning the 10th. :confused3 I can't imagine that Disney would put Osborne Lights on AFTER Thanksgiving! Not when the other holiday festivities such as MVMCP and holiday parades are starting the second week of November.

You are right the lines for the rides are small. two years ago my husband and daughter rode the Rockn roller coaster,5 times in a row because nobody was in line . The lines for the soap events on the other hand are long ,long, long.I allways arrive at the park 3to4 a.m. I'm one of those crazy people Myself I love the thought of getting the fast pass that other wise you would'nt get to meet Im geared for General Hospital this yaer I go to the AMC,OLTL fan club luncheon in Aug. I'll be there early again this yr.I'm giong to try for 2 a.m. this year. Eveyone have a super time .pixiedust:

It's waaaaaaay too early to even *truly* do this, but does anyone want to speculate who will be in attendance? I hope they bring the big guns and not all young newbies ...

Or maybe we can do a "hopeful" list and update it every so often until September (when the list might come out, although it could be October, given the fact that the dates for the weekend are pushed back a week).

My HOPE (as well as who almost for sure will be there), picking 12 from each show (although it's never balanced):

ALL MY CHILDREN
* Susan Lucci (Erica) -- a given
* Cameron Mathison (Ryan) -- a given
* Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) -- a given (Bob Guiney, anyone?)
* Michael E. Knight (Tad) -- a given
* Alicia Minshew (Kendall) -- a given
* Thorsten Kaye (Zach) -- a given
* Aiden Turner (Aidan) -- a given (seems to come every year)
* Jacob Young (JR) -- a given (seems to come every year but I could see him not there this year)
* Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake) -- a given (I just see him there)
* Debbi Morgan (Angie) -- I HOPE
* Darnell Williams (Jesse) -- I HOPE

As for the "final" slot (remember, I'm giving each show 12, even though it's never balanced like that), I'd say Beth Ehlers (character tba) will be there, unless her character doesn't catch on. ABC would love to pimp out Goldin and Ehlers. I could also see Yaya DeCosta (Cassandra), or Amanda Baker (Babe) as an attempt to push her on us some more. I did leave off David Canary (Adam/Stuart). Kind of accidental, but you can swap him with Turner/Young. Hopefully he returns again but if they use both Morgan/Williams than it could be a stretch, which sucks, but I'm also trying to think how ABC would.

ONE LIFE TO LIVE
* Michael Easton (John) -- a given
* Kassie DePaiva (Blair) -- a given
* Trevor St. John (Todd) -- a given
* Kristen Alderson (Starr) -- probably a given
* Susan Haskell (Marty) -- I HOPE
* Brandon Buddy (Cole) -- probably a given
* Brittany Underwood (Langston) -- I HOPE
* Bree Williamson (Jessica) -- probably a given
* Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio) -- always seems to be there, meh
* Erika Slezak (Viki) -- BETTER be a given
* John Paul Lavoisier (Rex) -- a given
* Farah Fath (Gigi) -- probably going to be pimped out

I'd like to see Hillary B. Smith (Nora), Jerry verDorn (Clint), Robert S. Woods (Bo) make appearances but I think it's a big stretch which sucks big time. They should at least invite Jerry verDorn (Clint) ONCE.

GENERAL HOSPITAL
* Rebecca Herbst (Liz) -- a given
* Brandon Barash (Johnny) -- gotta pimp him out
* Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) -- probably a given
* Kirsten Storms (Maxie) -- hopefully
* Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) -- hopefully
* Jason Cook (whoever) -- gotta pimp him out
* Laura Wright (Carly) -- a given
* Jason Thompson (Patrick) -- a given
* Sarah Brown (Claudia) -- probably a given, gotta pimp her out
* Kelly Monaco (Sam) -- hopefully a given (she does draw the crowds)

Two slots left, I'd love to see Megan Ward (Kate) get invited. Maybe Ingo Rademacher (Jax). I'd also love to see Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) or Rick Hearst (Ric) but those are probably a stretch because they have to pimp out the newbies and I doubt they'd pass up inviting once mega popular Sarah Brown.

Not sure if anyone from Night Shift 2 will be invited. I know Antonio Sabato Jr. (Jagger) is coming to NS2 but who knows ... I'd love to see Jane Elliot (Tracy). Not sure if Kimberly McCullough (Robin) will be there because of the Rick Springfield cruise, or was that on the original weekend? What about the new dates?

So thoughts? What's YOUR list? And yes, I know, again, it's a LONG ways off, and people can come and go, etc. but this is just to generate some conversation, give it a try :)

I would bet that if Thorsten Kaye is there than Susan Haskell would be too since they are together IRL.

I am hoping/praying Kimberly McCullough stays home this year!!!!

I was going to say the same thing about Susan Haskell myself. I saw her in the lobby of the beach Club with Thorsten a few years ago when she was pregnant with their last child. It would be great to see her.
I saw on Sun. 16th they are going to have evening EMH @ HS. wonder if they are going to have events for SSW?

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet Erika Slezak. She is the most talented soap actress....EVER!

How about Robin Strasser (Dorian)?

This will be my first SSW and it's all by chance. We had our trip scheduled way before they announced the dates. I thought we'd miss it but now I'm excited.

That would be awesome Christine, if Kimberly STAYED HOME!!!!:banana: Would love to see thorston and Susan, and I had NO idea that they were married.....or maybe I forgot!:confused3

They have a concert with performances by the SSW stars. It's preceeded by a parade of them going up Hollywood Blvd. Just FYI - it's the same exact concert both nights (Sat & Sun night). My friend made me sit (or stand, actually!) both nights insisting that it would be different! I knew it wasn't, but I didn't want to make waves! ;)

It's never to early to speculate! :rotfl:

Let's see for AMC - I agree with all your choices except Alicia, Rebecca & Cameron can stay home. I'm just so sick of their story line and they seem to be on so darn much that I would rather NOT see them at SSW. David Canary might be there (he was last year).

For OLTL yep on all of them. I'd love to see Robin Strasser but I think I read somewhere that she doesn't do personal appearances like SSW for some reason. I wish I could remember exactly but can't. I'd also like to see Nash (just one last time!)

I don't usually watch GH so any of them would be fine with me. Spinelli was there last year and he had to have been the most popular! The women were at least 3 to 4 deep - I barely got a picture of him. Heck I couldn't even see who it was (just knew someone was there) so I stuck my camera up in the air, pointed and clicked hoping for a picture of whoever everyone was screaming for. I was lucky enough to get sort of a picture of him. :hyper:

If they announced that Angie & Jesse would be there - I think I will have to definitely make the trip! Right now I'm not planning it (too much going on) but I might try if I knew definitely they were going to be there.

I met Robert Woods about 2 years ago here in DC - he is the nicest guy! So sweet and friendly. I'd love to see him at SSW.

I know, it's a shame. But that doesn't mean that fans can't wish he were able to be more social. Even if he only went ever few years. Something to make us happy. LOL Oh well, a girl can dream.

It's not just the crowds. Maurice is extremely afraid to fly. He was supposed to speak before congress as he is the spokesperson for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. However, at the last minute, he freaked out, couldn't get on the flight and had to cancel. Additionally, if he does a talk show, it's usually via satelite. He will be at Fan Club Weekend for GH next month, so I plan on seeing him then :love:

I don't know if I would bank on Aiden Turner being there. He's on thin ice with Frons after something that he did last year in terms of some inappropriate comments he made to fans and stripping to his underwear. I'm sure he had a long talk about that. :laughing:

Team Stitch- Do you know what happened with Walt Willey? He used to go to SSW every year but he hasn't been in the last year or so.

Well, he used to do a Comedy show at one of the Local Comedy clubs off site of WDW. (I think it was FUNNIES) or something like that.:confused3 He is VERY Racy and uses strong language in his act, and I believe from what I heard, he said something in the act about the Disney Co. and someone high up heard about it, and they told him not to come back.:confused3 DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS ENTIRLEY TRUE< BUT ITS ONE OF THE STORY'S I HEARD!:confused:
