Super Hero Parade & transportation

I'm going to be doing Universal for the first time. I've read about a SuperoHero parade and meet and greet on this board. Does the SuperoHero parade take place everyday and is there a specific time for it?
Secondly, I'm thinking of staying on-site. How early should we plan on leaving the hotel to get to the parks for opening?

If you stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, you can walk to IOA in about 8-10 minutes. About 10-12 minutes from IOA. From Portofino Bay Hotel you would take the boat and then walk from City Walk to IOA.
Not sure of the time of the parade, but someone there can tell you.

I was there last April and never saw a parade...is this new....is it all the time....Am I out of luck because we are going the last week of August?

The Marvel Super Hero Parade happens daily.

Daily at the following times:

11a, 12p, 1p, 3p, 4p, 5p

Times are subject to change-depending on park hours-and the parade can be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Its not really a "parade"... theres just some loud music and the superheroes ride down the street in four-wheelers... i thought it was kinda hokey myself but my little brother had a fit.... he loved it... Its definatly nothing amazing.... no floats or people marching or catchy music.... just some "warning the superheroes are coming out onto the street" and some music that sounds like someone is having a heart attack or something.... then you see a bunch of charactors riding around in four-wheelers that are really loud... I would rather just be able to meet them... I wish we could get a real parade here... that would be awesome... they are completely capable of creating a awesome unique show... maybe something relating to the Port Of Entry theme.. I just see machine parts and all thise colors and that archetecture infused into a parade.... maybe something like the Tapestry of nations at Epcot.... I wish universal would do something like this.... it would help...

Maybe it has changed but when we were there after the "parade" at IOA we were able to meet most of the characters with no problem. Most of them got off of their vehicles and stood around for photo ops, etc. My kids liked it much better than just watching everyone go by on a float.

Yes much better for the little ones...they get to meet them and take pictures and talk to them. Our two nephews and our niece loved it.

They drive around, then park their ATVs, then go to various locations for pictures and autographs. They used to come out randomly during they day in addition to the parade, but that's not very common.

More often than not, if it's raining then the characters will go into the Toon Ampitheatre, which is generally NOT advertised, although someone goes out to try to get folks to come in. This also depends on whether the ampitheatre is empty (i.e., if the X-Treme show or Bill & Ted's is not set up).

The times above are currently correct, but will be changing once peak hits. Times usually shift to a bit later, and will be listed in the park map.

*sometimes* they'll announce that the superheroes have moved to the Ampitheater over the speakers. But as you said, it's only during rain. Not lightning.
