Super Goofs Flying into February team thread

Hey everybody! I guess I need to get caught up on the new spreadsheet process....hopefully it is easy, I am not so good with stuff like that! I will attempt to figure it out though! I will try tonight as I have some miles/time to enter.

I got in a workout yesterday and today. I am really trying to work on my speed for my upcoming half in May. Today, I did 1/4 mile intervals at an 8:49 pace. I felt great, and didn't really feel too tired, although I am not sure I would be able to keep that pace up for too long. I am following Hal Higdon's intermediate half marathon plan. It has a lot of speed work built into it, so we shall see how it goes!

Suzanne--I love the triple print! It looks great. I was thinking about ordering one, but gotta see if it fits in the budget right now!

I guess I should go try to figure out this spreadsheet thing!

Later, Goofs!!!

Suzanne--Just saw the pictures from the Universal 5k...looks like a fun race! Great job!

My training is going well. I ran 8 miles on Saturday. I've done 6 miles already this week. Saturday is my 6 mile day.

Morning all. Nice to see the thread carries on without me!! I took an actual semi-resty day yesterday!! :goodvibes Not something I do often but maybe something I do more of in the future.

Mike, sorry I deserted you the other day. We need monthly totals for the team and then a running yearly total also. I have to post these at the beginning of each month thread. Those are the really important totals for now. And, I am sure there will be added and subtracted members throughout the year, there were last year so this is another thing to consider. Try ScoJo15 for some consult on how he set the cells up last year.

Welcome to our new members Disnic (Nicole from FL) and Groovyguy (Lou from NH). Joanne, if DH has a WISH name I will change him in the lineup but I thought this one fit for now!! ::yes:: I hope to hear from both of our new members soon!!

I hope everyone is able to use the spreadsheet. Mike gets super yay for even attempting this for us. :cheer2: See I knew we kept him around for something...:lmao: I cannot wait to see those miles and minutes adding up!!

As for me today, I have 4-6 miles and I am going to ski. The other day was hard as a snowmobile (actually 5) had gotten onto our trails and apparently thought they were in heaven. They did a lot of damage to them and my FIL drag machine was in the shop being fixed. Needless to say "hard" was being nice. I fell a lot just because I couldn't snowplow to slow myself down. Today, they are freshly dragged and ready to rock and roll so I am aiming for the 4. My DS7 started peewee hockey last night and he has it again tonight so I will be freezing my rear view off at the rink (outside) again tonight. At least if I stay in my ski clothes, I will be better dressed than last night!! :rolleyes2

Have a great day everyone!! :flower3:

Lisa:

There are weekly, monthly and annual totals.

The weekly totals are on each months page, in blue, next to the lower section of the roster.

The monthly and annual totals are on the first page.

I'll work on putting extra slots for team additions later today or tomorrow.

Mike

Morning all.

Now that I have access to the spreadsheet, I can get in there and enter my weekly totals.

Today was XT for me--bike and a little weight work/stretching. Basically, I try to fit in my hip strengthening exercises and IT/butt stretching whenevr I can. I am hoping to keep any IT band issues at bay. So far, so good!

Suzanne Love your pictures and your race report/photos. You are really getting into the races! Seems like I'll have to wait until late March before I do anything. Unless, of course, I can make it down to Disney for one of the 5k!

Laurie I am liking th speedwork. It's good variety. Yesterday I did 2 x 1600 at 8:06 and 1x8 at 7:53. Who knows how they figure these sequences! I know what you mean about keeping it up for long distances, though. While I can do a mile that way, I don't know about 3.1. (which is the goal of this particular plan)

Maura

Good morning Goofs.

Welcome:welcome: to our new members! Glad to have you.

I have put my daily totals in and I guess it's working so far.....that's an accomplishment for me!

I got to the gym last night right before son #2 had a basketball game. I got in 50 minutes.....better than nothing. I always like to get at least an hour, but it could have easily been 0!

Beth

Morning Team!

Suzanne - I've got a triple print from the Minnie and love it! Plan on ordering one from the full as well. They look great once framed.

Lisa - does the drag machine make lines along the trail? When we were out Sunday the main ski tracks were down the sides of the trail but you could see spots where it looked like the entire trail had been "combed". Also, which form is better for beginners? Saw what I'd call single tracking (each ski making straight line) then couple folks doing more of a side motion with skis at angle.

Hit the gym last night - got in 2 miles on the TM, 1.2 on eliptical then spent 20 min on core work. Felt pretty good overall even though had little interest in going to start. Think most of us northerners are suffering from winter blahs.

Tonight is bike time! Nice long ride on the trainer before dinner.

Keep up the good work and have a great day!!

OMG Liz, you nailed it! I took out the garbage and recycling last night and looked around and said, "I wonder what San Diego's weather is like right now"?

and "Could I buy my house in SD"?

I'm so tired of being cold right now....5 degrees here in Downers grove....

Hi Cousins! I'm dropping in to congratulate Suzanne on her 5k. She reported in the race report thread to check here for her report. Smart idea!
Way to go! Have a great week Super Goofs!

Hey Mike, I just requested permission to access the spreadsheet. You may not "recognize" me, though. My Google name is MagicKimdom. (I really wish I'd have come up with that name before I registered on the DIS Boards!)

Off to the gym now!

slow day for me today- 60 minute spin class. Instructor encouraged us to come up and do some push ups after 'just one or two" she says. I ended up doing a quick.....80! I guess the personal trainer is working because it was not too long ago I could not even do 10! (pats self on back!) I am fierce!

HI Goofs,

Had a work out today and entered my miles on the sheet. Thanks so much Mike, makes life easier!

3 miles for me on the TM with also 50 sit ups.

I need to get more endurance.

Lynn

Happy Friday everyone!!

Mike, have I told you that you so totally rock lately??? With the teams growing as large as they are, the spreadsheet is an uber life saver. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! PS-how goes the Ironman training?

:wave2: To the Super Goof team!! It is getting to feel like this :crowded: around here. The teams are getting huge this time. I think our biggest group last year was 18 and we are now up to 20 members!! Here's hoping that everyone sticks with it this year...:flower3:

As for me, I got 4.17 miles skiing yesterday in 59:59 (I know, how annoying) and it was super fast going. I was having a great time until I hit the field and it had drifted. Of course, I did not see this until I was going DOWNhill...:scared: Thank goodness for my extremely few powder ski runs and remembering to keep the tips of my skis up. I didn't even kill the dog when he sunk to his shoulders in the snow (Irish Wolfhound mix who is taller than me practically)!! He had this helpless deer in the headlights look on his face, poor baby.

I have 5 miles today and the girly girls to the gym. Thank goodness it is Friday and I get another resty day tomorrow. Yeah, I will probably ski again but don't tell anyone!!! :upsidedow Then 9 miles on Sunday, once again. Field hockey all weekend long really interrupts my workout time. :scratchin

Have a super great Friday everyone!!!

I'm struggling to find time to get my runs in lately...when I can run outside, no one can bother me until I get home, but when I'm downstairs on the treadmill, it's too easy for them to find me...asking homework questions, wondering what's for dinner, telling me I have a phone call...sigh...cabin fever big time! It's supposed to warm up a little this weekend, I'm so hoping to get outside for a bit...

Howdy everyone!

way to go with keeping your workouts consistent...Its a huge struggle for me during this time of year...6 weeks in and 6 weeks of winter to go makes me want to

IM training is going reasonably well, but I will be knocked out of that for at least two weeks while recovering from knee surgery...I'm actually hoping thats all the time it is!

Got in a late night swim last night, and still have to squeeze in another hour long swim and a 30 minute run sometime today :crazy2:

Hang there folks...spring's getting closer

Hang there folks...spring's getting closer

Oh please let it come soon......

Good morning team!!
WTG to everyone for getting those workouts!

I got in bike ride last night - 14 miles in 43 min for an 18.8mph avg. Not bad but working toward the 20mph avg.

Tonight is gym time - TM :crazy2: and new weight routine. Have a 6 miler on tap for tomorrow and since it's going to be warmer will actually get outside. Won't be able to take advantage of the best temps as I have a baby shower from 11.30-2p (what the heck??) but I will get outside!

have a great day!

Happy Friday, all!

Temp run for me today--although I messed up and ran it slightly slower than I should have. Just as well-I was feeling a little heavy.

Tomorrow we are expecting 46 degrees. Yippee!

Will update the spreadsheet this weekend. Haven't looked at it yet.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Maura

Well, it is official. I am sick.

I was gonna run 6 or 7 miles today, but I barely managed a 3 miler. I'm not gonna run for a couple days. I feel totally wiped out.

On a better note, we're reaching 60 degree temps here after experiencing some weather in the teens. I'm ready for spring!!!

Have a nice weekend Goofs!:grouphug:
