Super Bowl at MK

People have asked this before about playoff games, and the only answers people came up with were bars, ESPN sites, or some restaurant that happens to have tvs. But I don't think anywhere in the actual parks will have it.

There isnt anywhere in the Mk, of couse not..Its a theme park. It is also a place that is meant to keep the :real" world out, therefore no tv.

You can bet that it will be on a few screens about 20 feet directly below MK, however. ;)

There is not. There are no public-accessible TVs in the Magic Kingdom (or any of the theme parks). If you want to watch the game, you'll need to head to a resort or the ESPN WWS. Keep in mind that any place broadcasting the game will be PACKED -- so plan on going early, staking your claim to a table, and keeping a running tab. As with any other sports bar, if you show up at 4pm to have a great seat for the game, but you just sit there with your iPad and don't spend any money, they will -- after a reasonable amount of time -- ask you to leave.

As I have read here, if you show up at ESPN at 4 PM on Super Bowl Sunday you wouldn't have worry about pulling out your iPad because you would still standing at the end of a very long line. :thumbsup2

BUT OP its also been posted that unless they are doing some special out big screen showing (which may only happen when ABC broadcasts it) the best, aka least crowded, place to watch it is your room.

If you're at MK and want to catch the super bowl for a bit, you could step out and take the monorail to the Poly lounge to watch it. We've watched sports from the Poly lounge a lot and it's one of our favorite spots for it.

I'm sure one of the lounges at a Monorail resort would have tv's showing it (maybe even one of the pool bars). Again, you probably will have to arrive early to get a good seat.

I would avoid ESPN restaurant no matter what. It will be a complete zoo. Polynesian lounge is a great suggestion. Many of the resort lounges have televisions (some are small though).

A few years ago we watched a couple of games of the NBA Finals at the resort lounge at SSR where we were staying.

I know, I know: NBA Finals is nowhere near as big a draw as the Superbowl. Still, it was high season (mid-late June) rather than low season (early February).

We were the only people in the lounge both nights we went. We basically had our own personal waiter bringing us food and drinks. It was fun.

Have the resorts stopped putting television sets in the hotel rooms? That would be my location of choice. Bag of chips, soda/beer, a pizza and you'd be set.

We were at Disney one year during the Super Bowl. We had a couple of drinks and watched a bit of it at the lounge in POR then we went to our room and watched the rest there. It was funny, when the Pats scored a touchdown, you could hear the people next door cheering!

Think of the WiFi bandwidth usage figures with THAT!!!

That ought to give their wireless infrastructure a stress test, eh?

:teacher:

and if Disney were smart they would charge that day for the wifi

That's a great suggestion, thanks! We are from MD so we're obviously Ravens fans. It never occurred to me that 1) we'd make it to the Super Bowl and 2) we'd be at Disney during the Super Bowl. My husband said he would just use his smartphone to check scores but I know he'd really like to see the game. I would too but I'm pretty sure my daughter would drive us nuts going stir crazy in the room while we tried to watch. And it IS Disney afterall so I also like to spend my time in the parks. He'll probably wind up going to the lounge or back to the resort to watch and my daughter and I will stay at the MK til close or at least Wishes.

Book your daughter into a Kids Club and you and your husband can enjoy watching the game.
