Sunrise Safari HERE WE COME!

Thank you all for your wonderful and informative insights into AKL. I've modified my trip in Feb from staying 11 nights at BWI to now spending only 8 nights at BWI Garden Suites and 3 nights at AKL concierge JUST SO we can go on the sunrise safari on the 21st. I made ressie's and confirmed my niece and my place on the sunrise safari and have decided to surprise her with this when we get there. It is her first visit to Disney World (well it is her 2nd really, but she was only 1.5yo on her first visit), and Saturday is her 16th B-Day! I hope I'm doing the right thing - I remember that I loved animals (and still do!) when I was 16 (25 years ago) but in this day and age with so much technology and Britney and Christina, I don't know.

My other question is, since this is my first stay at AKL concierge, is it possible to request an upgrade to a suite from the SPring Dream Maker Package? Otherwise, are these certain savannah room views that are better for viewing the animals than others?

The way others have described the process here is that IF a suite is available, the resort will usually allow you to upgrade. It sounds like the rate they charge for the upgrade is normally the difference in rack rate between your assigned room and the requested room.

So if they do have a suite available to upgrade to, the cost would be the rack rate of the suite MINUS the rack rate of your concierge room, on top of the rate you're actually paying.
