I was going to wait until I finished writing my trip report, but since I posted this on another list, I figured I should post it here, too, before I forget.

RAMBLING THOUGHTS:

For my last few trips, I ended up posting an “all 10’s” review about Sunray Transportation for each of them. Of course, each and every one of those times they have deserved it, and this time was no different.

It was kind of hard to come up with something new to make this review stand out from the others I had written. Why? Because their service was just as it always is . . . amazing and well worth the money I paid. So, instead, I thought I'd try to explain why I choose to pay for car service, rather than use the free Magical Express. However, that's almost just as hard as I really can’t express the feeling of “knowing” they give you.

I KNOW when I get off the airplane, they ARE going to be there waiting for me whether my flight is late or early or on time.

I KNOW they will be there, right at the bottom of the escalator waiting for me. And since I can read my name, I can find them easily.

I KNOW they will help me collect my luggage and take it out to their vehicle.

I KNOW the vehicles will be extrememly clean and comfortable.

I KNOW I will feel safe with them, even when traveling alone.

I KNOW the price they quoted me is all that I will pay, except for adding my own choice of gratuity. I KNOW there will be no unexpected extras like parking, tolls, or odd hour charges.

I KNOW when I am required to go home, they will be outside waiting to take me back to the airport. Even at 5am!! (Thanks Bob!!)

I KNOW I will always - always - get the same excellent service I've had in the past.

EXCERPT FROM MY TRIP REPORT:

So, it’s about 10:25am when my Southwest flight touches down at Orlando International. Soon as we can get off the plane, I hightail it over to the little girls room and then make my way to baggage claim. Without a doubt, I knew that Bob from Sunray Transportation would be at the bottom of the escalator waiting for me. And you’ll never guess what – he was there, greets me with a smile, and off we go to find my luggage. Patiently, Bob waits with me until my luggage finally appears. Cheerful conversation to Pop Century helps the time pass quickly. After checking in, I can either take my luggage straight to my room, which is ready now, or have luggage service deliver it when they can. Since my main objective was to get settled as soon as possible, I grab my luggage and head to my room and begin to settle in. I’m about 90% unpacked before I look at the clock again and it was just 11:25am!! One hour from when my flight landed, I’m all settled in for the next 6 nights and ready to go out. Even thought I didn't use the free grocery stop, it was more than worth it!

So, why is Sunray better than Magical Express? That’s an easy answer . . . I don’t have to mess around with luggage tags. I don’t have to wait to check-in. I don’t have to wait to fill a bus. I don’t have to stop at other resorts. I don’t have to wait for a room or wait for my luggage to appear there. With Sunray I can be in control and get worry-free, high quality service.

Any questions, please feel free to ask!

Cheers!

Nothing wrong with paying for the personalized service of a towncar company. For many guests it's a great way to begin a vacation

BUT

with DME you don't have to mess around with luggage tags but if you use them you don't have to wait at baggage claim. POP is generally the first stop. You don't have to wait in your room for your luggage. It will be dropped off in your room even if you're not there. The line at the check in desk is usually minutes.

DME is safe, will accommodate you even if your flight is late, will transport you for the agreed price FREE and the buses are clean and comfortable.

The normal time from landing at MCO to arrival at your resort is just over an hour. You probably saved 10 minutes using the towncar company. Most of the time spent waiting for your motor coach to leave would have otherwise been spent at baggage claim waiting for your luggage.

And there's nothing wrong for people who choose to use the free ME. Just wanted to give my personal review on what I have used and my opinion on why I think it's better.

Thanks for posting the other side of the coin.

Cheers!

I have been reading the reviews about Sunray and they have been very favorable. I have a couple of questions...We were quoted $90.00 for ten people....round trip...including a grocery stop....That is quite a bit less than Tiffany's....How can that be? Also...will Sunray's van's accomodate ten people and baggage? :sunny: :smooth:

If that is what they quoted you, that is what it will cost. I've never had them quote me a price and it not be true. And have never heard of that from anyone who uses them, either. I think they just try to make it less confusing. One price for everything, no extras, you choose the gratuity. Makes it easier.

Last January, my nephew and I booked with Sunray to go from Port Canaveral to WDW after a cruise. We ended up getting the same van we had the year before when there were 9 of us. There were 5 adults, 4 kids, 13 suitcases and 9 small carry ons, back packs, purses, etc. There was plenty of room for one more.

HTH!

I too just booked with Sunray, they were 15.00 cheaper for the transfers that we needed for our trip. I would of loved to use ME for our trip but since we are needing a three way transfer between MCO, POR and RPH I just thought it would just be easier to go with a towncar service. So it is good to hear positive things about Sunray, I appreciate the good report.
