I’ve heard from many that Monday is much busier than Sunday for a variety of reasons. Does your own experience match this and how? Tuesday is also an option. Thank you

Nothing to be concerned about.
Sometimes busier.
Sometimes less.

I think the theory is that a lot of people arrive on a Sunday and make MK their first park, on Monday. Personally I don’t pay much attention to which parks on which days but I do avoid Epcot on the weekends.

I asked the same questio n in one of my threads yesterday. Pre-pandemic, I felt I knew the answer from experience. These days, I am not so sure. I ended up booking MK for Monday

I would do MK on Tuesday if that’s an option. If not I would go Sunday.

We make our plans and do what we want to do on any given day. We have never been to WDW that it has not been crowded. It is an amusment park. We know before we go that crowds will be there. Having said the latter - I am not sure how this will go for us with no fast passes. No FPs could be a game changer for us. We do not desire to stand in long lines all day long. We are very content with three fastpasses and then doing other things where fastpasses are not a necessity. HOWEVER, we know this is our opinion and not that of others.

I would go Tuesday if it's an option. Many people arrive on the weekend and like MK to be their first park day.

Under current circumstances, is there still a difference in demand between days? I have heard/read that weekends may be busier as locals visit the Parks.

I mean, yes, weekends are much busier at MK. But that was also true pre-Covid. What is different is that on (non-holiday week) weekdays, the crowds are quite a bit lower than they used to because there are fewer out-of-town travelers and local APs can't visit as easily after school/work due to the shorter hours.

The exception is Mondays are still going to be busy on three day weekends because local APs can go then, or on other holiday weeks like around Easter because there will be a higher proportion of out of town guests then, and out of town guests go on weekends and weekdays..

With the park reservation system, I don't think it makes as much difference.
Weekends at any of the parks tend to be busier than weekdays. Holidays busier than non Holidays.
After that, there seems to be great daily variation and no specific trends yet.

Is that a chart of wait times or attendance? I have no idea how they would calculate an 'average' wait time for all of the rides in a park. Even when we are at Disney, the posted 'wait time' at the ride entrance is hardly ever correct. Not sure how any 3rd party would be able to accumulate such data. I think more locals with AP's tend to go when home on the weekends which tends to make it more crowded. Most people work M-F even if from home during covid.

Since Disney started that need to reserve a park due to covid, I think they have better data on expected attendance. However, I doubt they would make that available to the public and other parks like Universal would probably use it to their advantage.

It's like picking an aisle at the grocery store. Don't second guess it, lol.
We have arrived at parks before and just turned around. (not really an option if you don't have a pass) Enjoy it and roll with the flow, no matter what happens.

The best day we ever experienced was a Sunday, after Thanksgiving. Everyone went home, but we had just arrived after Thanksgiving. It was glorious!

As I understand it, the chart uses the official expected Disney wait times taken from MDE. They calculate the average by taking all the given wait times and divide by the number of attractions that have wait times, possibly adjusting for times when certain attractions are down or otherwise unavailable.

P.S. Even if the posted wait times do not truly match how long people wait in line, the margin of error should average out, meaning the days with longer averages should have had longer actual wait times.
