On the Sunday before Thanksgiving we plan on spending the day at MK. Spectro is at 8pm and Wishes at 9. Are we going to have to stake out a place really early that day to see these things? Is there any place we could walk up to (easily and not fight crowds to walk) and watch the parade just as it begins and then see the fireworks? I don't want to spend hours sitting on a piece of sidewalk if possible.

I'm bumping this up because we will be there also. I think that avoiding the MK on a weekend is the best advice, but that's my bday and I'm going to be there heck or high water :teeth: !!

Hopefully someone will know, but I'm afraid from what I've heard about crowds lately an early stakeout might be needed!

We will be there that same night. My understanding (my wife called WDW) is that the park will be open until 11 that night and they will run Spectro twice. I think our strategy will be to watch wishes and then stake out a spot for Spectro from those who watched it the first time.

Have a magical time,
JimmieD

Hi! We saw the Spectro Magic Parade and Wishes the same night. The best place to see both is from the second floor of the train station. We didn't get there before the parade, but as soon as the parade was over, a lot of people leave. We watched the parade from right in front of the train station, and once people started to leave the station after the parade, we made our way up to the second floor. We got there about 1/2 hour before the Wishes show, and were in the first row standing (there are seats up there that people had pushed up to the railing). The view was fantastic! If we had gotten there before the parade, we could have been one of the lucky few who were able to sit! Have a great time!:earsgirl:

Hi SnowWhite33,

Thats my Birthday Too!!!!

I'll be 39!! My birthday is usually lost around Thanksgiving. This year is MINE!!!!

1st trip in 20 years.

I am confused. The posted hours for that night are 9-9. Did the hours change?

Happy Birthday SeanaB!! I know what you mean about getting lost around Thanksgiving-I mean who feels like eating bday cake with all of that other food!?!

You are going to have a wonderful trip!! 2 years ago was my first trip in 20 years and was suppose to be our "trip of a lifetime" and here we are going for the 3rd year in a row :p !! Just be careful it can get addictive!!::yes::

I was wondering the same thing about the schedule-I've only seen it open until 9.

I just called Disney and used the automated line for FAQs and it said the hours for 11/23 and 11/24 for the MK are 9-11 both days:tongue:

Now I have a problem. My boss is paying for me and my family to go to the hoop-dee-doo on the 23rd. The only time I could get was the 9:30 show. I chose that day because MK closed at 9 and I would only miss 1/2 to 1 hour of the park. Now I don't know what to do. Thats over 2 hours I will miss at the park. Do you have any advice. Last time I checked all the 9:30 shows were available for the days I was there. We are going to MGM on 11/25. That park closes at 8:30. Should I switch the hoop-dee-doo to that day?

To me that means that they are expecting big crowds. That doesn't excite me at all.
