Just brought one tonight at Walmart. Been keeping the house a little cooler in the evenings and hoping this will help keep me warmer!

I've been eyeing those and dropping hints to DH but I think i'll have to actually buy my own if I want one. We keep our house cool too and I was thinking about it for the same reason.

As in "electric blanket" type things? If so, they scare me to death!
I would use one if I was just sitting around, but not sleep with it on..

Ironically, my mom always had an electric blanket on her bed (she was always cold) and slept with it on and nothing ever happened..

Still, one of my biggest fears in life is an electrical fire.. Goes back to when I was very, very young and my grandmother's apartment building caught on fire (she lived on the third floor and had to jump out a window).. It was caused by a woman on the first floor who fell asleep using an electric heating pad.. That left such a lasting impression on me - especially seeing the charred walls and smelling that acrid odor when we were able to go back inside with her to get some of her belongings that weren't destroyed.. I can smell it right now - just thinking about it..

If it is electric, just be very, very careful with it..:goodvibes

We used electric blankets as a child. We loved them, but one night my mom woke up (thank goodness) and the one on mine and my sisteres bed had caught on fire. No damage to us, and no more electric blankets.
