Summer Vacation: Where Are You Going?

But - we are going on a day tour that ends up in Kennebunkport, but we'll only have 2 hours. How far is the beach from the town? I believe there are trollies?

I was feeling pretty good when I saw the flights we got for Denver to Boston went up from the $236 RT we paid to way over $300 - yikes!

Have a great time in Boston! That's where we live and our vacation this summer is a cruise to Alaska. We've never been on a cruise as a family and I have been planning this trip for a long time....can't wait!!

We are doing a mini vacation in Chicago to attend the Taste of Chicago.

Our big vacation is WDW in August!

We're going to Jackson, WY for a week in August; WDW for a week in September. We both get a month of vacation time, but I can't ever use it all because of the nature of the legal business.

Puerto Rico the first week of August, can't wait!!

Will also be taking some shorter, close to home, weekend trips. Pittsburgh later this month, Syracuse to visit the in-laws next month.

We always go to Mexico Beach, Fl for a week, so we're going there again this summer.

We're going to Jackson, WY for a week in August

When are you going Quiksilver? And where are you staying? Just being nosy and seeing where other people like to stay!

We have a 3 bedroom condo rented at SnowKing Resort for the first weekend in August and have the King for the Day package - so the kids can play mini golf, bungee trampoline, take the chair lift to the top and ride the alpine slide - all day long!

We are going to tour Cody and Yellowstone after that - looking forward to wildlife and amazing scenery!

If you only have two hours, I imagine you'll have to spend it in and around Dock Square. Lots of restaurants and charming shops. Kennebunkport does have trolley tours that leave from Ocean Ave. They're narrated sightseeing trolleys, so I'm not sure if you can get off and on, or if you can, for how long.

There are no beaches right in Kennebunkport, but plenty in the towns right next to it. Kennebunk Beach is in one direction and Cape Porpoise (Goose Rocks Beach) is in the other. There is a small "beachy" area within walking distance from the center of Kennebunkport that has a breakwater and gorgeous views of the harbor and ocean.

Definitely try the Clam Shack. I've never heard anyone say they didn't like it. It sits practically in the water. Freshest seafood around!

WDW in a couple weeks- just me and DD to celebrate my birthday, Dh are sailing on RCI's Freedom of the Seas in mid-July, and a week on the cape with some good friends

HAWAII!!!

We are going to Oahu for a week, June 28 to July 4. It was a minor miracle we were able to get everything lined up - between all the kids' camps and activities and requesting our vacations, only about 1 1/2 months' before. We also lucked into being able to cash in Frequent Flyer miles, and found a very reasonable rental property.

We are planning to see Pearl Harbor, Dole Pineapple Plantation, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Diamond Head, Hanuama Bay, Bishop Museum, go to a luau, and take a catamaran snorkel/sail. We will be on Ewa Beach, and will go check out the DVC property under constrution at nearby Ko Olina. Too bad it is not ready in time for us this year!

Southbound Inside Passage Cruise (Alaska) in August Our first cruise ever

We are going to Virginia Beach for a week in July and Disney World for a week in August!

No annual WDW free-dining for us this August because we'll need to go down to Destin to see DS graduate from USAF tech school in the fall, bittersweet and we hope to visit him in Minot, ND over Christmas. DD and I have also decided to do a Mediterranean cruise this time in 2011 and hopefully spend another couple of weeks in Europe before/after... we REALLY need to start saving now

Several mini-trips scheduled though starting with two weekends in Provincetown, one with kids~ one without, four nights in Hampton Beach the last week of June, a weekend in Nantucket in July, and who knows what will happen after that

Saturday, we are taking a day trip to Carowinds(in Charlotte) to see some Christian ba.nds and ride the rides

We are going to Washington DC next week for 3 days! I am very excited!

In July we are going to Universal for 6 days. I won tickets and got a great deal on the Hyatt across the street. We also have pluses left, so we will be doing a water park and Disney Quest.

Probably will hit Great Wolf for a night sometime this summer as well.....

In July me and the kids are taking a trip with my mom, grandma, aunt, and uncle to Arizona and Utah. In October we (me, fiance, and kids) are taking my mom with us to Disney and Cocoa Beach (that part may change to St Pete since I've never been to Cocoa and I don't know anything about it). In August we always take a long weekend to Gatlinburg, TN to go school shopping too.

Jackson Hole & Cody, Wyoming and then Yellowstone Park and Mammoth Hot Springs.

Can't wait to see that area of the USA!

We did that last year! You will have a blast!

Our main vacation is Yellowstone in July ( with a stop in Zion along the way). We also have a couple of long weekends planned in San Diego and Phoenix.

Universal in a couple week, we took the kids to disney in april and so dh and i are going away for our anniversary without the kids!
