Summer ICP 2010

I got interviewed in Liverpool (not exactly the most convenient for me!!!) but at a guess (thinking back 15 months...:headache:) I'd say around 70 - 90 on my day.

According to one source, the typical ratio is ten candidates for every position :confused3. I'm not sure if this is underestimating as most of the people I talked to around the time of interviews actually got in, but since last summer, Disney has been reducing the number of CPers it takes and even laying off regular cast members. Pesky recession!

It looks as though its gonna be tough to get in to WDW, even tougher for me to get a job as a lifeguard! I never expected that kind of number on the day. Do you know how many interview centre things there are in the UK? Or where you find out where to go, because, YJ live in london, so I guessed it would be down there somewhere.

One of my economics teachers says things will start picking up in the US economy in Jan 10, or sometime next year. This won't mean that they will be employing as much as they were in 08, but they won't be laying anybody off! Heres some more good news as well, UK house prices will start rising in 2013, just in time for grads to buy cheap and sell high. Thats another source from my teacher.

Thanks again

There are several interview centres all around the country: London, Liverpool, Birmingham, there was one in Cardiff for '09, etc. Depending on demand, there's another round of interviews in March-ish.

According to the news board, Disney is undergoing an operational restructuring starting with merging management of WDW and DLR (i.e. paying off execs); who knows how far down the cast member food chain it will go? Attendance is quite poor atm. :confused3 I hope they don't start downsizing their customer facing workforce, it's hard enough as it is for CMs

Hopefully I'll be able to get a house by then  eech still got another 1 1/3 years of uni left... :scared:

As I've never asked... what you hoping to study and where?

Oh well I was hoping for somewhere a little closer to home, I'll end up having a road trip to london then!

It looks as though it could be 3-5 years until DW start taking full timed staff on again. They'll just be taking in less CPs because no ones going to DW atm...obviously ;) , hopefully summer 2010, this'll get better.

I'm going to do product/industrial design at either Northumbria or Nottingham Trent. Nthmba would be better as i can always nip home to get washing done! :thumbsup2 (will be living in halls, no matter what my folks say! although I want to move away, I think Notts is far enough.
