Summer Challenge...

Sorry I haven't updated but so far I have lost 3 lbs...this is VERY slow going!! :(
So 3/20.
 

I'm really sad today.

Yesterday morning I had gained back a whole pound and this morning I had gained back another 1/2 pound. So now my entire loss is only 3.5.

I am so discouraged. I'm on the South Beach diet, phase 1 and it is very strict. I haven't cheated on it at all and its been very hard.

You should be proud of yourself for not cheating!!!

Weighing every day drives me nutty.......
So many things factor into that....water, bloating, etc.
I would pick one day and weigh, and wait for a week to weigh again.
Also, are you working out, I am on my last 20 and it is VERY slow, stepping up my cardio is the only thing I have been able to do to take me over the "plateau".

aw, thanks for the pat on the back. it sure did feel good. I just can't stay off the scale - its a love/hate relationship. Seeing a loss really keeps me going - in fact, it is the ONLY thing that keeps me going.

I haven't started working out yet, although I do take a leisurely walk daily. On Phase I with the carb restriction, heavy exercising isn't recommended. Maybe when I start Phase II I can get back on the treadmill.

No I am not pregnant. I just missed the beginning of this challenge. I would like to join now and see what I can do before June 21. I think 20 pounds would be appropriate. Just over 2# a week.

Please add decaff38 0/20 as of 4-16.

I'll try to update in morning. Just not up to it tonight. I was running around allllllll day. Had a dr. appointment today to check on blood pressure its been running hight still is high so she's putting me on bp meds. I was about to go back on pill and was considering Yasmin since it has a mild diuertic and thought it might help with my weight loss. I've been increasing exercise and been doing more exercise in the last 6 months than I have since high school and not losing. I can say I haven't been really really strict but its crazy so she's checking out my thyroid and other issues. :) But I gotta be on this bp med so I can't do the pill now. I currently use fertility awareness method(charting temps and other female stuff) and know when I'm fertile and we basically avoid those times or use barrier methods of protection. Getting a diaphram that will be interesting never used one before. But I'm happy to be getting these health things taken care of. We had been without insurance since Oct so it was good to get this stuff taken care of. Got blood work Wednesday what fun that will be. I think I have to fast but it will be at 7am so not bad.

I worked out Monday and Wednesday better than nothing. :cheer2:
 
Oh Melissa, I'm so sorry to hear about your challenges! It's wonderful that you are able to get these things checked out instead of just not knowing. Keep us posted on what you find out!

I started at 175 on 4/14 and today I'm at 174.5, so I'm 1/2 pound closer to my 10 lb. weight loss goal by summer :-)

I am 3.5/20. I happened to catch Bob Greene on Oprah after the show on Saturday. He was saying the key is exercise and then you keep refining your eating. He was really talking to me. I have refined my eating but have not being doing anything in the execise department so today is the day. If I am going to loose this weight I have got to get to our YMCA. And the payoff will be I will have more stamina at Disney. Yippee.
Thanks for all your posts. They help keep me on track.
 
I have GOT to remember to post my updates regularly! :blush: Anyway, down another 6.4 pounds, bringing my total to 12.2 so far. :cheer2: Keep up the good work everyone!
 
This was a good week, but still don't think I'll be making that goal.

Lost 2.8 for a total of 6.8/25 pounds
