Summer Challenge...

We got a big dog last weekend. This week has been ALL about walking the dog, keeping her separated from the cat and making sure she doesn't growl at the kids. On the good side, I have been staying very active. The walks are shorter and less intense than a great workout but there are several of them through out the day. I'm hoping it equals out and I can still burn some calories until I get everything settled down and can get back to long, hard workouts.

I've been making smoothies in the mornings so i can get some good nutrition and walk around drinking it (LOL Mom on the Move.) I use a container low fat vanilla yogurt, a little milk, fresh strawberries and some instant breakfast chocolate powder. They are yummy.

ANYWAY, I'm down 3 pounds since the beginning....3/12

hey everyone! i haven't been able to post at all! things have been so crazy! anyways, i just wanted to update that i've lost 3 pounds :cool1:

I'm down 1 lb. for a total of 8/30.

Keep losing!!!

Is it too late to join in this challenge? I know that I could have lost more if I had started earlier, but I think I'd like to set a goal of 20 lbs by June 21st. Is this okay or did I miss out?

I think I'm going challenge crazy , but it sure seems to be working out really well for me. :)

Thanks! :flower:

I weighed in today and was down 4.2 lbs from last week. But since I was up last week. I'm at 2.2 lost total so 2.2/30 :)

I'll update everyone here in a few minutes just eating my cereal. :)

All updated now. :)

I may not be online much for a little while. My Internet may be getting disconnected later today. I dunno when we will have it back on. I'm interviewing for a new job sometime this week and we might get cable instead of DSL weve had it is supposed to be cheaper might even get cable for tv too tired of just basic channels. However dh watches tv more than me. I'm not a big tv person. I do enjoy movies from time to time though.

Anyway I'll still update once a week as I usually spend one of the weekend days at my moms and they have cable so I'll update there until we get Internet back at home.

Maybe time away from puter will get me moving. I don't know how but I like I said above I lost 4.2 lbs from last Monday. I didn't exercise much and ate junk but really not that much I've been tired earlier last week and then DH got sick and now I'm sick so I think my immune system was lowered and I was so sleepy. I feel like I ate so horribly last week cookies, candy and all that. But when I go to my moms I used to drink Mt. Dew and last few times I went I drank "A" Mt. Dew and switched to water the rest of the night. :) So I'm proud of that we don't buy soda at home usually so I don't have this soda issue while at home but there it is just what I used to grab. They have a water cooler just like me so its cold and at "tap" so to speak. :) We have nasty tap water here in Arizona so we buy our bottled water.

I am 2/20 - not bad since I had a bad 2 weeks of being sick with a cold and not exercising. :flower:

I gained .4 this week, so that puts me at 4/25

Better get my butt in gear if I want to make this challenge

I lost another 3.5 so I am at 7.5/25 lb goal. :cool1:

I've been quiet because I usually weigh on Mondays (that's when I used to weigh in at WW), but lately it's been movie night on Friday with popcorn, sushi for lunch on Saturday, and wine on Sunday. You get the picture, but Monday I'm bloat city! :scared1: Today, I decided to break with that tradition. SUCCESS!!!!!!! I am down 6.5 pounds!!!! So, mark me 6.5/15.

grammiegail - That is great! Way to go! Weekends can be SOOO hard!

BTW, I was just wondering how many of you "weigh-in" at home on your own, instead of going to a place like Weight Watchers.

I have passes that I bought at WW, and since I am a Lifetime member I only have to use 1 whenever I weigh in, and I have been going every 2-3 weeks to make them last. They will run out in a couple of months, and I have several months of "weighing-in" ahead of me. I am worried that it will be hard to stay motivated if I don't have someone check me. But it is nice having these WISH challenges to check in with.

So anyway, how many of you are doing this all on your own (with only the help of WISH to motivate you)? I really don't want to spend any more money to weigh in at WW, but I don't want to fall off track (I want to be at my ideal weight by next March when we go on our Disney Cruise!).

Thanks,
DJ

I just wanted to send out congrats and encouragement to everyone - I did not weigh in this week - currently 2/20 - due for next weigh in on Monday.

I weigh in at home - not sure how accurate my scale it....

I'm 3.5/21.5...need to start moving that scale!!! :) Atleast I can see a small dent in it! :) I'm at 180 and can't wait to jump into the 170's!!! :)

Keep the faith guys!!!
Tara

:smooth: I would love to take the challenge!!

I'd like to pledge to lose 10 lbs. by the first day of summer :-)

Kris

I had my weigh in tonight and I am down another .6lb. So my progress is:

14.4/30

Almost half way there!

Okay, I'm confused. (I've never been a Lifetime Member before, so my confusion is strictly due to ignorance.) I have always been under the impression that once you become a Lifetime Member you don't have to pay any longer. What gives?

To answer your question....I weigh in every Saturday at Weight Watchers, and I use these numbers when I report my progress for these WISH board challenges. I do not trust my bathroom scale.

DJ--You've got my support! I may attend WW meetings, but I get more support from the WISH team than I do from my WW meeting. My leader is a GREAT motivator, but no one (except me--lol) will say too much during the meeting or ask any questions. I feel like the WW class nerd. :tilt: I'm the only one who raises my hand to answer questions, and I answer ALL of them. The leader is SO perky and humorous, and I don't understand how she manages to enjoy herself with the wet-dishrag-gang as her audience. :rotfl: ( To be completely fair, I’ve only been to 2 Saturday meetings so far. Maybe things will “warm up” soon.)

Diane - That was my understanding too. Once you become Lifetime, you don't pay, but you do have to weigh in once a month and if you go up more than 2 pounds, you have to pay again.

Anyone else know??

Im in.............not sure how you got me down for 30 pounds though? was it my timeline thingy? ANyWhO.....
30 pounds is what I need to lose indeed. Ill keep posting!

Thanks for the YAHOOS!!!! In answer to your other question.....I stopped going to WW in July when I changed jobs and no longer had the option to going to my WW at Work program. I sorely miss being "in the chair". Until I found the DIS boards and the challenges, I have been floundering! I am VERY :bounce: :jumping2: :bounce: HAPPY to find this supportive outlet. Since then, I have been talking more about my weight loss and challenges with folks at work and have found one "confessor". However, if you are looking for a 1-on-1 relationship, I'm open. I lost 70 pounds on WW and am eternally grateful to the support I got from my fellow-WW. I am always open to continuing the relationship with others because it WORKS!!!!!
