Hi, we will be at IOA for just a day and a half after our cruise in March. I know this is a very busy time and was just hoping to get some pointers on our strategy for avoiding the longest lines.
We will arrive there on a Sunday morning and will not have special line passes. We have 3 kids and our 15 yo is a huge Harry Potter fan. Should we go straight back to this area and get right in line? I'm not sure if my 7 yo will do the Forbidden Journey ride. I have read that the park is very busy mid day....what rides , areas, shows, etc should we try to go to during this time? Is it better to experience the HP area later in the evening on a Sunday? We will also be here on Monday till 2:00, but it looks like those line pass prices are even more expensive that day?
Thanks!

Have you looked at staying onsite for one night? That would give you two full days of unlimited express passes and early admission. It might really be worth it.

If you can't stay onsite as Damo said, yes rushing first thing to Harry Potter is probably the best idea, for I imagine this is still the busiest area. After that you could take your time and just make your way around because I guess most of the main attractions will be equally packed and/or not packed depending on your day.

Few pointers if you do rush right to HP, after you do that area, come back the way you came and explore 2 of the best areas, Suess Landing and the Lost Continent. YOu will also most definitely want to eat lunch at Mythos in LC if you haven't already eaten inside HP.

After that, go through to Jurassic Park and do the main ride there (the boat ride, not to be missed) and explore that island. You can continue to make your way through past JP to Toon Lagoon, there are 2 good water rides there if you want to get wet. Last but not least when you are heading out whatever you do make sure you do Spiderman and the Hulk (Hulk only if you are a coaster fan) but spiderman is NOT to be missed.

OK, thank you for the information. Yes, I checked staying on site....it was $430 for one night with tax ( not including parking) and we can stay at the Doubletree for free. We have 3 kids and thought the extra space would be nice too. So, we just have to tough it out with the crowds;)

I will look into Mythos. I have a feeling my kiddos are going to want to try the place by Harry Potter too.

I haven't eaten at Three Broomsticks but I love Thunder Falls Terrace in Jurassic Park. Make sure you read through the food sticky for menus and comments.

If you haven't seen an IOA map, the park circles around a central lagoon, with HP on the opposite side of the entrance. The order of lands if you head right instead of left from Port of Entry are: Suess Landing, Lost Continent, HP, Jurassic Park, Toon Lagoon, and Marvel Island.
