Chapter 27- "How About...Snow White and the Seven Mushu's?"​

July 28th, 2011​

Hey all! This may be your last update for a week or so because it's officially TECH WEEK for Grease!!! AHH! Which means that I am barely going to have time to breathe, let alone update! But no worries, because the update after this is going to be WELL worth the wait. I have a feeling that there will be much drool on your keyboards by the time you're done reading...but more on that next time! For now...

We headed out of Pixar Place and past my favorite hat EVER.

And headed down Sunset Boulevard!

Now, at the end of this road lies two major thrills, but this time, we opted for the one that includes giant donuts, loop-de-loops and, of course, Aerosmith!

Rock n' Roller Coaster!!! YEAH!

Dave isn't big on this one, so Mike and I hopped in the Single Rider line and pretty soon we went in to see Aerosmith themselves!!

SHH...they're recording right now.

Then we ended up in the exact same car in the third row! Woohoo!

After we got to the concert JUST in time, we decided to head over to the Animation Building! (AKA Mike, the arteeest, BEGGED all morning to go.) He loved him some drawing class!

On the way over we saw some cool clouds,

A Cars 2 ad,

(What an adorable movie!)

And a Winnie the Pooh one as well! (Speak of adorable movies- just look at them!)

We decided to do the pre-show, because Dave and Mike didn't really remember it and I hadn't seen it in SUCH a long time.

And then I was reminded of how much I love Mushu. Seriously, he's so precious. And inspiring. And full of himself. But whatever! I mean Snow White and the Seven Mushus never fails to crack me up, as well as Mushu and the Beast. Too funny.

After the show we were directed into the main part of the building, where we could queue up for the drawing class.

Yes, all of you probably just said to yourselves: "Queue up? What is she, British?"

I am.

Be jealous.

Anyhooo...

So here we are:

Yes. Right.

And while we waited for aforementioned drawing class, I played along with all the 5-year-olds in the Guess the Character drawing game. Lemme tell ya, I got Flounder and this guy before those little ankle-biters could even open their mouths! Muahahah.

Pretty soon we were called in and we got seats in the second row. We had the same instructor that Jess, Vickie and I had for our class in January where we drew Winnie the Pooh! She's awesome!

Today she had a character all picked out for us, though, and it was Pluto! I was so happy as I've never drawn him before and he is adorable!!

I don't have pics of all of ours, but mine is coming up in a later update.

After that I decided to let Mike spend his sweet old time admiring all of the artwork in the Snow White gallery and the gift shop, which he did while I took some pics of my favorites.

Can I just say how much I still want these dolls, even though I'm 16 years old?!? They are so CUTE! I love dolls. I want to collect all of these. I just think they're fantastic.

What a winning combo. I want this. SO bad. It's like the artist made this specifically for me. All she needed was to be munchin' on some school bread and I would have snatched her RIGHHTTT up, lemme tell ya.

Here comes the onslaught of Thomas Kinkade! For those of you who don't know, he is about one of the most talented artists EVER and I am obsessed with his work. I was obsessed even before I know about all the Disney stuff, and now I am just head-over-heels in love with this guy. He is so awesome.

First up, Peter Pan!

AMAZING.

Next, Princess and the Frog! (sorry about the glare)

INCREDIBLE.

And my personal favourite thus far, Beauty and the Beast!!!

GORGEOUS.

Now onto some non-Kinkade but almost as impressive artwork:

I took that pic for Mike, as he loves to golf.

This one reminded me of Jess' parents, because they have these two chairs just like those in the painting and the sometimes sit out on them in the summer and watch the sunset. <3 Just like Mickey and Minnie! So precious.

Can ya tell I'm loving Beauty and the Beast lately??

Awesome. It brings fantasy and reality together in all that mist that just comes off as really mysterious and magical. LOVE it.

Nice update! Loved your RNRC pic!! I am going to have to try the Animation studio next trip. I don't think we've been in it in years and I really want to do a drawing. I LOVE the Thomas Kinkade Disney pictures. They are so beautiful. I got the 2012 calendar that has six of these pictures featured on it. I really want to get a Beauty and the Beast print. I think I'm going to ask for it for my birthday next year.

Ok, I was going to wait until I was all caught up to make comments, but I wanted to ask you...you keep mentioning that you were in a Music Man musical, and I wanted to tell you that I work at a high school. Our school did the Music Man last year too for their musical! We do one major musical a year and the kids always do a fanatastic job. I was so excited when I heard they were doing the Music Man because it is one of my favorite old classics and I was so lucky to see it on Broadway about 8 (or so) years ago.

Here's the thing. The kids didn't really care for it as much as some of the other musicals they have done in the past. I think they felt like it was too old fashioned and they didn't really connect with it as much as some other ones. What is your opinion? Did you like it or not? What is your favorite one you have done so far?

Also I loved your cropped picture with you & Aladdin. It really made me laugh. My husband coaches volleyball at the same school that I work at, and you totally remind me of the girls on his team. I am loving your TR!

Break-a-leg with your show! Hope it goes super well for you What is your part in the show just out of curiousity? the high school i went to did grease my sophmore year and i did some behind the scenes work for it with our school's theater club. I seriously do love that show!

Don't worry about the not having time to update thing, breathing is about 100,000,000 times more important!

That is a very pretty hat I always think of stacey trying on the hat in her videos when i see that hat. I also think of the pin store that is inside the hat Have you been to the store inside the hat? I remember them having ALOT of pins in their.

I love trying to take a picture on sunset boulevard pretending to look scared because of the tower of terror! I also am a big fan of the store in the picture you took! They have really good slushies that are great for the summer!

Yay Aerosmith! "Love rollercoasters, love aerosmith, helllll-llllloooo?!" (at least i think that is the quote, they have changed alot of the quotes in those video with the new version of the stacey video so i haven't seen the video that i love the quotes in since 2008 since they changed it when i went in 2009 )

Gotta love the single rider line! I didn't realize rockin roller coaster had a single rider line untill last year! Defintely is a good idea for those who don't want to get split up.

Lol Luckily they don't seem to mind that millions of people seem to be interrupting their recording sessions day after day.

Once again i love when that happens! That seems to happen with my mom and I a lot when we do the single rider lines.

Those are really cool clouds! Just out of curiousity how do you get your pictures edited in such a cool way! I tend to use my iphone to do that but it gets to be a pain trying to reorganize the pictures afterwords.

I just bought that movie the other day since i never got to see it in theaters due to a play i was in . Oh well, i'm excited to see it when i have the time now!

I just watched that movie friday, it really is a cute movie Once again i never got to see this one in theaters either. As you well know the movie had the unfortunate complication of coming out on the same day as harry potter and well, as much as i love disney harry potter won the battle each time i had enough time to see a movie. I know i've been a bad diser as far as movies go this summer but i'm sure it will improve! I'm hoping to go see the muppet movie when it comes out so at least disney is in my next movie plans!

I absolutely LOVE the preshow! I pretty much ALWAYS opt to see the preshow! It does take alot of time though so their have been a few times i went right on into the heart of the animation experience!

LOVE the drawing class! I usually end up in their a few times each trip, however, my drawings usually totally suck so i pretty much NEVER take a picture of them!

Hillarious! I am totally the same way when waiting for the class to begin! My mom and I like to play guess which character each time we take the class. you would think i have the order memorized by now, but i don't .

First of all good luck with the play! I totally get it, when I was in high school I was super busy myself, between plays, church, work, school activities, and oh yeah, HOMEWORK, so I basically know exactly how you feel. But I hope it calms down soon! I bet Grease will be awesome!

OK so I love that you sat on the turnstiles and chatted up the cast members. They were probably wondering where your name tag was.
YAY Toy Story Mania! LOVE IT. Mr. Potato Head! Wow now that I think about it, I've never seen him because I've always been in the fastpass line... this is what I'm missing out on! Shame on me.

She is doing well; she's wearing a brace and unfortunately had to cut herself from a couple of the dance numbers in the show because of her injury, but she was a real champ about it and is on the mend. The show ended up being a great success though!​

I personally loved the Music Man. The people involved and the story line were both humorous and fun. I definitely felt like I connected with Grease a lot more, because it's about a bunch of high school kids in a decade not that far off from the present one, but I also didn't have much more trouble getting into the character/setting of The Music Man. It may have been our particular directors that made it easier or everyone in the cast that made it more fun but overall that has been one of the most memorable and fun shows I've ever done.

Break-a-leg with your show! Hope it goes super well for you. What is your part in the show just out of curiousity? the high school i went to did grease my sophmore year and i did some behind the scenes work for it with our school's theater club. I seriously do love that show!

Gotta love the single rider line! I didn't realize rockin roller coaster had a single rider line untill last year! Defintely is a good idea for those who don't want to get split up.

Those are really cool clouds! Just out of curiousity how do you get your pictures edited in such a cool way! I tend to use my iphone to do that but it gets to be a pain trying to reorganize the pictures afterwords.

They are aren't they!? I use iPhoto, which is fantastic. I love it so much. The clouds were just already nicely arranged for me though. I didn't really edit that picture. There are a few good editing apps for the iPhone though, and you can always organize them into different folders.​

I just watched that movie friday, it really is a cute movie. Once again i never got to see this one in theaters either. As you well know the movie had the unfortunate complication of coming out on the same day as harry potter and well, as much as i love disney harry potter won the battle each time i had enough time to see a movie. I know i've been a bad diser as far as movies go this summer but i'm sure it will improve! I'm hoping to go see the muppet movie when it comes out so at least disney is in my next movie plans!

I absolutely LOVE the preshow! I pretty much ALWAYS opt to see the preshow! It does take alot of time though so their have been a few times i went right on into the heart of the animation experience!

Harry Potter won for me to, but then Jess, my sister and I went to see Winnie the Pooh at the drive-in. We're precious.

And I'm going to see the Muppets on Saturday!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!

I've never drawn pluto either. I also am hoping one day whoever is leading our class will let the class choose what to draw. I never get the ones that let you choose.

My drawings end up being (surprisingly) okay! I'm usually pretty proud of the end result.
