Chapter 28- "Yes, One of Everything Please?"​

July 28th, 2011​

Hello everyone! Well, Grease officially ended with our matinee show on Sunday, and it was AWESOME! Everyone went crazy for the show, and the energy the cast had was absolutely through the roof! We all had the time of our lives doing the show and I am now going through Rydell withdrawl. I miss it. ): I did actually get sick during tech week with this nasty cough/voice thing but I muddled through and I still had an amazing time doing the show. I can't wait for the next show, Guys and Dolls, to start up pretty soon!!

So here is that drool-worthy update that I promised you all so long ago! Enjoy! And please, refrain from trying to lick your computer screens, or attempt to grab the following delicious items out of the aforementioned computer screen (ahem-Jess-ahem). It will NOT work, sorry.

I had been dying to try a certain place for a certain famous delicacy since seeing pictures of it almost a year before on the DIS. And finally, the day had come! So I grabbed Dave and Mike and we frumped our way on over to...

The angels...the lights...can you hear the heavenly voices? I can.

Starring Rolls. This place is like the #1 most deceiving thing you will ever see in your life. I mean, from the outside it says to me "Yeah stop in and grab a coffee and maybe a stale doughnut," when what it should REALLY say to me is "WARNING: DIETERS BEWARE. You will lose all senses of judgement when you walk into these doors and see the illegal yet scrumptious food we have laid out for your eating pleasure."

So dangerous.

So I take a nice deeeeeepp breath and walk inside...and head straight for the dessert case, where I see cupcakes, and pastries, and...oh I'll just show you the pictures already, huh?

Chocolate Peanut Butter and Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcakes

M&M and White Chocolate Chip Cups

Banana Splits

Strawberry Parfaits

Marble and Butterfinger Cupcakes

Eclairs

Napoleons

Fruit Tarts

Despite all of these tempting treats, I had singled out my choice before I even walked in. I wanted this:

The Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcake. The DIS had been taunting me for months with pictures of it and I just HAD to try it.

Mike and Dave made their selections as well and we proceeded to the register, where the family in front of us didn't realize that they could not have candy apples as a dessert on the DDP, so it kinda took a while, but the scenery (food) was great so the time went quickly. LOL.

We went outside and got a table in the unseasonably non-scorching sun and sat down to our little pieces of Heaven.

Mike got a cinnamon roll.

Boring, I know, but he was really craving one and he said it was actually really good!

Dave got a Double Chocolate Muffin.

He's a huge chocolate fan so this was right up his alley.

This was AMAZING. Honestly the BEST cupcake I've ever eaten in my LIFE. The red velvet cake was super moist and yummy, the buttercream frosting was absolutely perfect, the cheesecake in the center on top was spectacular and the heath bar crumbled all over it just made it. It was completely magical and I ate every single bite of it right there, that's how delicious it was. I recommend this to anyone with a sweet tooth. It's just YUM. But enough of my rant.

After we finished eating, we said hello to some topiary friends:

And headed back to the Hat with a capital "H."

From there we decided to head to a thriller, and then possibly one of the frumpiest attractions of all time! Stay tuned!

When you showed the pictures inside Starring Rolls I was thinking to myself, "Oh I hope she didn't get the Butterfinger cupcake, it looks good, but it's so disappointing. She should get the Red Velvet..." And then you did. And I realized I was holding my breath.

That's not a problem! I would honestly do the same thing I think. I do want to try the Butterfinger just to say that I did though, although I have heard mixed reviews of it.​

I can't remember if I ever commented on this trip report but I've been reading since the beginning I'm so jealous of you doing Grease! My high school didn't do it until after I graduated... And we never did Guys and Dolls boo!

Chapter 29- The Chapter in Which Kristen Attends a Family Reunion.​

July 28th, 2011​

Hey all! I know, two updates in two days! Amazing. Don't get too used to it though, I don't usually have this kind of free time on my hands. But let me take this opportunity to say Happy Thanksgiving! A day early, I know, but I don't think I'll have a chance to update tomorrow, so I hope everyone has a great day and don't forget to EAT A LOT! Because this is the one day where you can just pack it in and no one will judge you. It's a gift is what it is. I just love it. So have a magical Thanksgiving and enjoy my gift to you all, this update!

After our fabulous snack at the Underrated Cafe, we decided to veer left at the Hat and see where it took us.

On the way we saw Tigger hopping around:

We also saw Stitch with no line at all, so we decided to stop and say hello!

From there we headed to Star Tours! I had told Dave and Mike about the renovations to the attraction and they were both really excited, being huge fans of the movies and everything. I never really was, but I still liked the ride and wanted to see what improvements they had made!

Unfortunately the line was a tad long for our taste, so we grabbed a fastpass for later instead.

So then we decided...okay well I decided...that we should go pay some of my long-lost relatives a visit.

And what better place to head to do that than...

MUPPET VISION!!!!

It's just so beautiful and inviting, with all of my very best pals living inside.

So after the photoshoot outside of my future retirement home, we headed inside to hear the 411 from Sam Eagle.

The best part is when Rizzo the Rat is dressed like Mickey and goes "Hello, welcome to my park," and then Sam Eagle is all "You are not Mickey Mouse!"

I love it. Too funny.

So we picked up our 3-D glasses and soon we were headed into the theater!!!!

We moved all the way down to the end of our row, because not doing so is "simply unpatriotic," and I snapped a somewhat crappy pic of the funniest animatronics I know.

Then the show started and I was transported into Muppet Land. I love this show. It never gets old, seriously. And I get really excited when Sweetums comes out to look for Bean because it's like I'm in the movie! Ahh it's so great.

Yes, I know.

Yes, I am sure I am not 6 years old.

I am also sure that I am completely sober.

Okay, then. Moving on!

After I saw what must be the most spectacular 3-D film ever made, Mike and Dave dragged me out of the theater.

Good news though!

There's a Muppet GIFT SHOP.

So yeah. That's where we went next.

I don't know how I didn't buy anything in here. Like really. I must have left my money at the hotel that day or something. I have no clue.

We also went into the cute little Christmas store next to it.

I always liked this snowman. Maybe it's because he doesn't melt. Do you know how depressed Frosty makes me?? Even though I know he comes back in the end, for that whole 2 minutes in the greenhouse, my heart shatters every time.

Anyways, while we were in there I saw some really cute character ornaments:

And little baby Christmas trees! Which I suggest that Jess' family gets for their villa when they go for Christmas, just to festivate things up a bit!

Yes I know that "festivate" isn't a word.

I am really getting on my nerves today with all these questions!

Once we were done in there we still had some time before our lunch reservation, so we decided to head to the Great Movie Ride!

On the way, I couldn't help but snap one more picture of my home sweet home.

Disney is so polite. Even when commanding you to waste things. They don't just say "HEY YOU, WASTE!"

They say "Oh waste, please. But only if you want. We won't force you."

How kind of them.

Anyhoo, the wait for the GMR was about 20 minutes, so we figured "What the heck, it's air conditioned," and got in line.

I saw my favorite carousel horse of all time in there:

If only I could have that. What a souvenir, right!?

The wait was still about 20 minutes, but we didn't really care. The ride was corny, as usual, but I got to visit Mary Poppins, so it was all good.

Then we headed back out and into the present, but not for long!

I want to see your drawings from the animation class! I just did that for the first time last week and I LOVED it. So fun. I got out of the class and headed right back to do it again. I love to draw and drawing at Disney is even better.
