Such a Big Miracle in Such a Little Girl! and Anniversary Celebration *Updated 3/19

Day 3

Day 3 will take to the the mother of all parks the Magic Kingdom! Now don't get me wrong, I love this park, but growing up at Disneyland, I find it just another disney theme park. The main difference between them, is that Disneyland, like everything else in southern California is jammed and packed into a small space. Everything at DL and DCA you will find at WDW, but it is more spread out at the World, which is why you can not compare DL to MK.

That being said, this is still the most coveted park for us and we plan to do it in 3 days. It has so much to offer for the little ones.

We start our day with reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table. My dd recieved an invitation in the mail from Cinderella (made by daddy) inviting her to come an dine with her and her family at the castle. The invitation stated she must dress for the occasion, so we went to the Disney Store to choose the perfect princess dress and what did she choose? Cinderella of Course! :)

We decided to skip the BBB. I don't feel that the price is something we can swing for something that I could do myself. So before heading out to the park I will give her a princess make over in our room, complete with the spray glitter.

Our ADR is for 8:20 am, before park opening. I am so excited to be able to see and walk down main street with out a crowd of people.

I have two different touring plans one in which 7DMT is operating and one in which it is not. I have her many conflicting reports as to opening time, but the last one was early Summer, which means we will just miss it :faint:

WE HOPE to do Winnie the Pooh, 7DMT, Mad Tea Party, Dumbo, Barnstomer, Little Mermaid, Peter Pan FP+, Small World, Haunted Mansion (we can skip this if line is too long, or we want to do something else. DL has this ride and it is take it or leave one for us), Enchanted tales FP+, Carrousel, Mickey's PhilharMagic. All before lunch :crowded:

I am hoping to snag a BOG fp+ for lunch at this time. Then after lunch we will ride the train around in hopes that it will get the baby down for a nap (this always worked for dd at DL ;) ) Then once he's down we will ride Splash Mountain FP+, Big Thunder Mountain FP+. My dd is super excited that she now meets the height requirement for these. The we will go watch the Country Bear Jamboree. THis was taken out at DL, so its nostalgic for us. Then we will have a dinner at Pecos Bills then back to AoA for the rest of the evening. We may leave my dad with the kiddos once they are asleep and either go to another park or to Downton Disney if we are up to it. SO thats our Day 3 plans.

Day 3 plans sound wonderful. I've always been glad I didn't have a girl when going to Disney because I didn't want to pay for the BBB. ;)

How sweet that your DD got an invitation from Cinderella. :goodvibes

I love most of your choice of attractions to do and it's always fun taking the train around the park. I hope your DS takes a nap for you.

:confused3 I have been to DL over 100 times (34 times in one year) so my husband and I do not consider our selves "tourists" at Disney. One of our favorite things to do is to people watch and we always laugh at the groups of families with the matching shirts...tourists for sure.

So what are we doing at WDW? We are going to be tourists. :teeth: I told dh he didnt have a choice. This was just another fun thing to plan for.

On the day we are going to Epcot this is mine, my Mom's will have Grammy, and then there's the Big sister and Lil Brother for dd and ds.

My dh and dad's (papa) version

What Else?

Well I made the kids each a shirt for the plane trip.

Then I wanted some coordinated outfits for the parks and for certain ADRs, so after searching through pintrest, blogs, and here I decided to make these:

The red dress is for MK and Chef Mickey's and the animal print is of course for Animal Kingdom

Also for Animal Kingdom I made:

For Me

My Mom

My ds

I also made this:

For Ohana

and this adorable Snow White cover up for the pool and water park.

I also purchased disney t-shirts for ds, dh and myself. Another dress or two for my dd. Swim suits for both kids and of course PJs.

AND for my dad I am wanting a shirt from the Disney Store. I just have to wait for it to come in his size, hopefully before his birthday in April. It has a picture of Grumpy an it says "I'm not Grumpy, I am SURROUNDED by people who are TOO happy" Every time I check they only have it in a small. I also found one that I could iron on with Grumpy and it says "I don't do matching T-shirts"

:offtopic: So this is a bit off topic...but I just want to share. My baby girl turned 5 a few days ago and yesterday was her birthday party. She wanted a Princess Tea Party. Her friends dressed up as princesses, they had their nails painted, they played tea party and princess games, there was a tea cup pinata, and of course a Tea Party. It was a mixture of tea party, princess and disney princess combined. She loved it, and I loved planning and decorating it for her. I just want to share some of the pictures.

This is the Royal Table. pixiedust:

The table with the Castle

Tables for manicures and the table that held the boas, tiaras, wands, bracelets, and rings. And the teacup pinata.

The birthday girl in her Cinderella dress that she picked out to wear to CRT.

Me and Kaylie...I of course had to dress up as well :goodvibes

Manicures!

The princesses, minus one (she wouldn't get in the picture) :cloud9:

Tea Time!

She's so happy :dance3:

Pin the Lips on the Frog Prince

Tea bag toss...we also did Pass Cinderella's Slipper (hot potato) but no pictures because my dh is my photographer and he ran the music during the game.

The Princess Sofia cake that I made

Happy Birthday to my Miracle Baby!!

Day 4
We are taking a bit of a break today! On Day 4 we are taking a break from the parks, at least until the evening.

We will sleep in and enjoy our resort. While the kids play in the pool, my mom and I will take of laundry. This of course isn't so exciting, but a necessary evil in order to avoid another checked bag fee just to bring enough clothes with us on vacation and have room for souvenirs :rolleyes2

We definitely want to walk around our resort. There are so many picture opportunities that we don't want to miss. We are going to sort of play this day by ear. My dd wants to ride the ponies, so we may go over to Ft. Wilderness to do that and while we are exploring and she's riding the ponies, my Dh and dad can do a little off shore fishing. We do not have any plans for lunch, so I guess that will be where ever we end up at the time. Nap time will be back at the resort.

We have dinner reservations for Chef Mickey at 5:00pm. I am so excited to see my DS reaction to Mickey Mouse. My dd watches Disney Junior every morning and recently I have noticed my ds tuning into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse when he comes on. He loves dancing to the Hot Dog song and when I ask him to point out Mickey Mouse, he does! :happytv: I am hoping that by the time we get there, he will recognize some of the characters. We recently took him to Knotts Berry Farm to see how he would react to characters. He loved Snoopy and Charlie Brown, had no problem going up to them. So fingers cross that nothing will change between now and then. :p

Since we are so close by, we figure we may as well go into MK ;) This allows me to keep my anniversary surprise a secret until the last moment. We will spend the evening in Tomorrowland. My plan is to visit/ride Monsters Inc, Stitch's Great Escape, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, PeopleMover (another ride that no longer exists at DL) Astro Orbiter and Tomorrowland Speedway.

At this time it should be time to check in to our surprise, the Wishes Dessert Party. (I realize that doing a buffet and the dessert party could be a bit too much food. With the baby however, I think that doing it this way, on our day off, is the only way to justify staying up so late with him. I'd also like him to meet the characters early in our week rather than later, so it works for us.) If it is still too early too check in to the party then we will have FP+ reservation for Space Mountain already saved for the grown ups. This is another take it or leave it ride for us, since we do have it at DL. My dd will need to grow 2 inches in the next 3 months in order for her to meet the requirement, so I don't think that is going to happen.

So there you have it our Partial Day Off day 4 plan..any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed :)

What a great day "off"! Fun for the girls (and DS) and fun for the boys! We've never had a relaxing day at the resort and will get it this coming trip... and I can't wait. I hear ya on the :laundy: ughhh... never fun to do laundry on vacation, but a necessary evil sometimes!

You guys will have so much fun at Chef Mickey's! Definitely a must do with my DD's! And a bit of Tomorrowland and the Dessert Party to top it all off... what could be better than that?!?

Great day 4!

Joining in!!

What an amazing story! Kaylie is such a brave, strong little princess!

Sounds like you all have a lot to celebrate! I'm also planning my DS's first WDW trip for this upcoming November (he'll be 26 months when we go), so it'll be nice to see how you plan for your family and get everyone excited!:yay:

And also, all the pictures of your Disney outfits, and DD's birthday party are great. You're so creative!!

Looking forward to following along! :cool1:

Great day 4!

yes...I remember reading that you will be spending some Wonderful Magical hours in the laundry mat :lmao: so sad that our trips have to be wasted for that little amount of time. It's the only way I can get away with only checking one bag for all four of us.

Thank you for you input on day 4:thumbsup2

Welcome and thank you for following along. My dd knows what we are doing and where we are going and is so excited, but the baby on the other had has no clue. I want him to have just as much fun as everyone else...even though he wont remember any of it. Its a challenge, but I am determined for him to have a fantastic time :)

Hi Nina! :wave2: Just catching up!

Today is my baby's 5th birthday! Such a milestone for her. We are going to her favorite Spaghetti Restaurant for dinner along with my Mom, my brother and his wife, my MIL and SIL. She's going to be so excited and this weekend is her party!

How cool! Jan. 15th is my birthday also! As I just learned this morning, it's also Kathy's husband's Mark's bday as well! So some special people are born on that day! :goodvibes

Day2

Day 2, our first full day at wdw will be spent at Epcot. I know, I know, I am going against the masses and NOT going to Magic Kingdom first. I have a very good reason for this. My parents really want to see Epcot, and I really enjoyed this park. My fear is that if we see MK first, then Epcot wont seam or feel as interesting to my dd. I know her and I know she will enjoy the different countries, but She will also want more rides like all day at MK. So Epcot on our first day it is.

We will begin our day by feeding the kids breakfast in room while the adults are getting ready. Then we will each grab a toast or bagel and head out the door. Our plan is to be at the bus stop by 8:00 to catch the bus to Epcot. We would like to be at the park for rope drop.

We will of course spend the morning in future world: Spaceship Earth, Test track with FP+( dh and I will get FP+, get swap pass for parents and dd, then they can go) The Seas with Nemo, Turtle Talk, Journey with Figment. By this time it will still be a bit too early for lunch, so we will head left into world showcase Ride Maelstrom and Grand Fiesta and visit China, Norway and Mexico.

We will then take a break and eat lunch at Sunshine Seasons, and then get the baby down for a nap. He sleeps really well in his stroller and my dd stopped taking naps at 2 years old. So we will continue on from here.

We will walk on over to Soarin using my parents' and dd's Fp+, then they will child swap with us. Next up is Circle of Life then we are done with future world and will spend the rest of the afternoon walking the world showcase pavillions. We'd like to try out Agent P's Adventure and we will definetly stop in Japan for the pick-a-pearl. Kaylie will be getting a Cinderella Carriage Necklace delivered from Tinkerbell so she can get her pearl. We will stroll and browse until dinner time at Teppan Edo at 5pm. After than if the kids are done we will head back to the hotel, or if they seem to still be going okay we may just head over to Ft. Wilderness for the Chip N Dale Campfire Sing-along.
Then its off to bed dream of what the next day will bring. :scratchin

We like doing Epcot on the first day also. That's our plan for our upcoming trip. We hope to make rope drop, head straight to test track, then mission space, and save FP+ until after lunch.

Another amazing day! LOVED the invitation from Cinderella....that's awesome! And I totally agree with you about BBB. My wife got our daughter all princessed up when they went. (I'm pretty sure princessed is not a word...but you know what I mean!) :)

We are soooooo hoping that 7DMT will be running when we are there at the first of June. Fingers crossed...and pixie dust! pixiedust:

Wow, we must think a lot alike! We are doing Epcot first full day, then MK, then a day off also! (Only our day off we are planning to go to Typhoon Lagoon and just chill in the lazy river!) I think you NEED a day off and there's plenty to do around the resort!

Thank you for sharing your story. I think your plans sound like fun!! It is funny that you are a Type A planner. I am too. My husband laughs at me, I have word docs, a spreadsheet and a notebook too!! Can't wait to hear the rest of your plans.

Happy birthday to both you and Mark. :yay:

Obviously great minds think alike...and something else that might be even a bit more unnerving, we were considering spending a couple of hours at Typhoon Lagoon that day up until dd started talking about the pony rides on the DVD. Its still on the table as far as I'm concerned.

Day 5

This brings us to Day 5 and my favorite park Animal Kingdom. You see when I was in college my major and course of study was Zoology. My life long dream is to work with conservation of wild life, which is exactly the goals of most of America's zoos, including Animal Kingdom. My dreams were put on hold when we decided to have a family, that and the fact that there is only one school on the west coast with an on campus zoo and they only except 50 students a year. I applied 7 years straight only making it on to the waiting list twice and never past that. So my dreams are on hold, but I am still doing what I love, working with animals. I have been a dog groomer for 15 years :)

Anyways a theme park and a zoo, what could be better than that?

According to everything I have read about the bus system, this park is the longest ride from AoA because it also makes stop at Typhoon Lagoon. SO our plan is to be at the bus stop at least 1 hr before rope drop. We will eat breakfast in room while getting ready, the joy of two bathrooms and 4 adults :yay:
We plan to start our day strolling through the oasis exhibits. Then head over to Expedition Everest before the line gets too long. We are debating whether or not to have the kids wait for us, or have Grammy and Papa take them over to ride Triceratop Spin. Then we will swap and my mom and dad can go while we ride triceratop spin again with the kids.

Next we will walk the Cretaceous Trail before ridind Dinosaur. We will let Brayden play in the boneyard while we are riding. Then Kaylie will join him there while we wait for our Finding Nemo FP+ reservation.
After the show we will walk the Maharajah Jungle trek. Then we should have FP+ for Kali River Rapids. This ride is availble at DCA but it is the only ride in DLR that I have never ridden. We typically do not go in the summer months because it is too hot an crowded and this will be the first time my dd has met the height requirement.:cool1:
Next we will have lunch at Flame Tree BBQ:cool2:
We will take the wild life express train to Rafiki's Planet Watch and explore over there for a bit. Then ride back and walk the Pangani Forest exploration trail. Our last FP+ for the the day is Kilimanjaro Safaris. Then we will walk through the discovery island trails.
We will stroll through the gift shops until it is time to leave for our ADR at Animal Kingdom Lodge...we are eating at Sanaa! We'll head back to the hotel after dinner and then see what the adults want to do for the rest of the evening.

Hi Nina, I’m just joining in and getting all caught up.

Your daughter’s story is so amazing and incredibly touching, I started crying just reading it, I can’t imagine having lived through it. You and your family are so strong. I’m so happy for you that you’re going to Disney World! My niece was Kaylie’s age when we took her last June for her first trip and it was the best experience of my life! Everything is so much better through a five year old’s eyes!

I absolutely love your movie nights and the food that accompanies them! If you haven’t seen Frozen you’ll definitely need to check that out when it comes out on DVD! It’s my new favorite movie. I love it so so so much!

Oh and I didn’t know that you could use FP+ at Be Our Guest! How does that work?! I’d love to know! That’s my number one-must eat at QS for our trip in May!

I love the “I don’t do matching T-Shrits” for your dad! I definitely want to make that for my dad haha!

Happy belated birthday Kaylie! I love her party! Looks like it was a blast! A

All of your plans sound great! Can’t wait to read more!
