stupid question,, flying southwest.

i purchased that early check in thing with southwest. cost $12.50 per person per way.

do i have to print my boarding pass myself prior to getting to airport or when i get to airport and and i give them my luggage, they will give me a boarding pass there?

You can either print it at home at 24 hours (or just view to see what # you got) or print it at the airport when you check your luggage (self kiosk).

We usually just get them at the airport when we check our luggage.

You can always "check-in" 24 hrs to get a good grouping to board and then at the airport you can print your boarding pass or if you have a smart phone and download the app you can checkin and then print your pass at the airport.

You will be automatically checked in 36 hours prior. You can print your boarding pass at home or just get it when you go to the counter to check your bag since you are already pre-checked in. You don't have to do any checking in at 24 because that's why you paid the money for early bird.

As other posters have said, you will be checked in automatically 36 hours out. At the 24 hour mark, your boarding position will be available for viewing and printing on SW's website.

To view/print your boarding pass, go through the online check-in procedure on southwest's website. It seems counter intuitive to do that since you are already checked in but that's what you need to do if you want to see what boarding position they assigned to you. You can also wait until you get to the airport and print out your boarding pass when you check your luggage.
