Stupid Commercials

I don't know what the ad agency or Bristol-Meyrs (?) is thinking but, I just saw the stupidest commercial for PeptoBismol. Maybe you have seen it as well; it has a dance line exhorting the maladies that the product will allieve. It doesn't make me want to purchase or use their product. I'm sure its a great product, but this commercial has got to go (so to speak ).

Any other stupid commercials out there?

Anyone see the commercial for Dairy Queen and the new flavor of Blizzard? The guy has a baby in a carrier hanging in front and he tells the baby that it is daddys Blizzard"....The baby headbutts him and kicks him and brings him to his knees.

I caught my 5 yr old DD doing that stupid pepto dance today and about died...she thought it was like the macarana...I think that commercial comes on way too much

I think all commercials for drugs (Wellbutrin, Celexa, Prozac, etc) are stupid. I work at a mental health agency and you wouldn't believe the number of people who call and say, "Yeah, I'd like to get some of that Prozac"!!

I think it's for Crest white strips. This lady meets her girlfriends for lunch with this big toothy smile. Her friends are all like "you have a man!" "You're glowing!" And she's obviously showing off her teeth, acting dumb as a fencepost!!!

Actually- the baby does both. He kicks him in the groin, he goes down to his knees- then baby headbutts him in the chin/mouth area.

Any of those drug commercials that say "Ask your doctor if this is right for you". Perhaps if the commercial would tell me what the drug does first so I don't embarrass myself when I ask for it to cure my poison ivy and it turns out it's a fertility drug

They took them off the air here but the Quiznos sub commercials with the weird hamster animals were just weird!!

Have to agree with others about the drug commercials.....we think way too much about what could be wrong and think a pill will fix all!

I have a pet peeve about local commercials....just because you own a company doesn't mean you HAVE to appear in your commercials!! Word to these guys....buy talent...you can afford it! You just embaress yourself when you appear in a commercial acting as animated as a block of wood! Let go of the ego and get out of the commercial!

Ok So I really hate that Pepto COmmersial that its awful... What were they Thinking!!! Who wants to have these problems themselves much less see a whole bunch of people dancing about them!!!!
O so anyway as far as LOCal commercials go I can't stand them expecially when they have thier Kids who ae in their commercials and not REAL ones for a reason!! Ummmmmmm Lack of talent maybe??? They even have one by me that is the kids as they are older and even less talented! Bad bad use of money it does not make me want to spend my money at their business!! ( They might use it to make more bad commercials!! HAHA)

OMG! I hate those. We have one for a car dealership here and the owner is all over the place. TV, the sides of busses....everywhere. He is so obnoxious and his commercials are so bad i would never buy a car from him...I turn them off!

I haven't ssen the Pepto one yet. I've seen the DQ one. I hate commercials for feminine products. we all know the products, i don't need it shown all the time.

Unfortunately, we still get the Quizno commercials...

I REALLY hate the commercial with the couple in the canoe that springs a leak, she reaches in her purse, pulls out a tampon and uses it to stop the leak in the boat. That was fun to explain to a 9 year old boy!

I hate commercials in general...I can't believe I have spent the last 2 years making commercials for a living!

I hate that PeptolBismol spot...yikes....

As for Quiznos, I think those things are creapily funny....I have a t-shirt with them on it "Eat Quizno's Subs...cuz the are good to us!"

For me, the worst are local commercials....I agree whole heartedly with Penny...Car dealers...small business owners...these people think they know how to sell their businesses but have no idea...I've been combating that for 2 years...its a endless battle...they all think they are creative genius'! They dont realize thats my job..to see their businesses....::sigh:: so sad.

The pepto one is DISGUSTING!

The quiznos rat looking things was just freakish.. it was a total turn off which I don't think they were aiming for -why spend all that money for a commercial that makes people want to NOT eat there? so stupid!

I also do NOT like the commercials for drugs without even giving you a hint what it's for. There's so many of them and they just say ask your dr. What person is going to call their dr and ask about all these meds? What would the dr think if you actually did? I assume they do this because there's some law that they can't advertise medication telling you what it will help- so they just tell you the name, make the commercial "feel good" but not related to the medication at all, then tell you to ask your dr about it. I think they are totally wasting their money... unless there is a huge market of people calling up their dr to ask everytime they see those commercials?

Another thing about medication commercials... the ones that DO tell you what they are for- then list out all the side effects that are much worse than the condition they are supposed to be helping with! LOL No thanks- I think I'll keep my heartburn and pass on the diarrhea, vomitting, headache, nausea, insomnia, etc. etc.

The local commercials here make me VOMIT, too.

When I was in radio we would just when a commercial was to be produced and the owner asked to make it. UGH... our production people just knew it would take hours to get this non-professional to spit out a 60 second commercial that was of air quality. But there was NO TALKING them out of it!!

There is a family dealership here in Georgia that makes me so sick. The creepy Dad, Maxie Price (can you BELIEVE he takes PRIDE in that name MAXIE price????) gets ALL of his wooden kids AND his untalented grandkids to make a commercial! THEY ARE SOOOOOOOO BAD... it's just embarrassing!!!

I really, really dislike commercials about feminine products and underware (either male or female). I especially dislike the infomercials (the 1 minute or so spot ones) where they make the person not using their product act so stupid. Like the one for the red pot for pasta or potatoes? Have you seen that one? The woman turns over a regular pot and everything falls out? HOLD THE LID!!! DUH!!! How hard is that. Those really annoy me.

Most car or truck commercials and I agree with other posters on the commercials made by non-talented owners and their families or for new drugs on the market. Thank goodness for the mute button!

I see very few commercials because I don't watch much Television, but I have to say I dislike most of them. Now the Dairy Queen commercial with the baby in the front carrier though, is a SCREAM! I LOVE that commercial! I have seen it several times, and it still makes me laugh out loud!

I hate the new KFC ad - the one with 'chicks for chicken' - it is *so* stupid! It makes me not want to go there ever again!
