Studio at Boardwalk Villas Question

I really want to stay at the Beach Club Villas as this is our favorite, but they don't have my first night of the second half of my trip after a Disney Cruise. We love the Epcot resort area in general though and are contemplating the Boardwalk Villas which we have never stayed in before. They have a preferred view studio available.

Has anyone stayed there recently? If so, what do you think of the Boardwalk villas and what type of requests should be made? There will be 2 adults, a near 3 year old girl and a 1 year old boy. We also will have a tandem double stroller. Will we be able to wheel it in and out without folding it every night? Any info and opinions anyone has will be great!

I am deeded at both Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas, and we prefer Boardwalk Villas hands down. There are elevators that go all the way down to boardwalk level so you'd never have to deal with stroller-on-stairs stuff. Plus I think you're closer to things at Boardwalk Villas. When we stayed at Beach Club everything - the restaurants, the pool, the bus stop - was like a 20-minute walk from our room. At Boardwalk Villas it seems much closer and easier to navigate. Hope that info is helpful, and I hope you enjoy what sounds like a wonderful vacation!

Another vote for BWV. We originally bought BWV and then did an add on at BCV so the grandchildren would have SAB. Turns out they prefer Boardwalk and as we didn't really need all the points we sold BCV.

I love having all the activity on the Boardwalk, not that it is hard to get over there from Beach Club.

We love both, but I think BWV's just a little bit more. We find that BWV's have a bit more storage space. That's handy with little ones.

As well, the Community Hall right next to the quiet pool is a good set up. Not sure about the ages of yours but ours loved to participate in the programs when we were there. We could relax by the pool and be just a 'shout' away if they needed us. Or we could head in a play a game of ping pong etc with them.

I think that you will enjoy it and now have another place to love.

I'll be the exception. BWV is my least favorite resort. I find it too noisy and busy. Plus the parking lot is SOOOOOO far from the villas. And the hallways seem endless. At BCV, you can park relatively close to the villas; so if you have a car, it makes it easy to get to the car. At the BW, you will need to valet park if you don't want to make that hike to and from the car.

To me, neither the BWV or BCV have handy dining areas, but SAB does have Hurricane Hannahs to get burgers, fries, etc and you can't get any of these at the pool bar at BWV. And they did add the Marketplace at BCV as a sort of counter service. The character meal at Cape May Cafe is excellent and usually not that crowded (you will need an ADR, but we find it a little less noisy). No character meal at the BWV.

I'm not a fan of either SAB or Luna Park and prefer the quiet pool at either.

BWV only has one bank of elevators for the entire villas. That's a lot of people using one set of elevators. At BCV, there are two elevator banks, one in the main lobby and one nearer the parking lot.

Another vote for BWV. We originally bought BWV and then did an add on at BCV .

same with us.....we figured that if we loved BWV, BCV would be very similar. it is a beautiful resort, but we find it waaaaaaaay too noisy for our tastes (the lobby & SAB can be downright scary at times lol).

your preferred view will be of pool or garden, both beautiful (even the lower poit standard view at BWVs is great tho). if you are going during 4/21-5/9, i would request to not be overlooking the quiet pool (it will be closed for rehab during that time).
in your situation, requesting "near the elevators" would make your lives much easier lol (fyi, we actually prefer away from the elevators, & mostly use the stairs ~ it gives us a chance to work off all that DDP food ).
there is so much to see & do at the BW: street performers (magician, fire eater, etc), hair braiding, surrey bikes, "carny" games (hoop toss, lobster pot thingie, water balloon game), have dinner at spoodles, ESPN, or big river, or grab a bite to eat from the (delicious) bakery or one of the stands, sit at the bistro tables in front of big river to have a few drinks & people watch, or just stroll along the BW, taking it all in.........

Okay, how far are we talking about? Can you compare it to parking at any other wdw resort, like say, Polynesian? Whether we drive down or fly down, we're renting a car either way as it's way too difficult to take a double stroller on a bus!

it's directly across from the bus stop.
btw, we always rent a car (for grocery & outlet shopping), & never considered it very far . it's not "at your doorstep" like OKW and some of the BCV rooms right by the lot (so no real "parking lot" views ~ both guest & valet lots are hidden by trees), but down a walkway & across a 2 lane internal street. if you're really tired tho, one person can get the car & just bring it up to the entrance, or you can valet park.

There is a large circular drive up to the BWI/BWV. The parking lot is beyond that. At least as far as GF, further than WL and AKL/AKV. Similar the main entrance to BC and YC.
