My aunt & uncle were at WDW last weekend. They were on Dinosour at AK when the ride broke. They had to be (in their words) "rescued" from the ride, using some type of ladder. My uncle was craking up telling us about it because he said a lady was leading them all down a walk way after they were rescued, and she had a whistle. She was whistling, "Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho, It's off to work we go..." while everyone was following her. He said it was one the funniest things he has ever seen.

Has anyone else ever had to be "rescued?" Was it a positive (or as much as it could be) experience?

DS and I had to be rescued from TOT on our last trip. It took a lot of time and it wasn't fun, but I can't say it was a negitive experience. These things happen.

We had to be "rescued" from POTC several years ago. The ride kept breaking down and we spent about 20 minutes in the boat waiting to be evacuated. The worst part of the experience was listening to "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirates life for me...." the whole time. I remember thinking "For the love of God, someone please shut off the music."

I got stuck on Splash mountain at the drop for 10 minutes

then we heard this SNAP, and went down...

My DH and I were also stuck on Splash Mountain for what seemed like an absolute eternity. Of course the fireworks were going off and we couldn't see them...that was what made it so irritating for me....but I survived.

We got stuck on Splash Mountain too! Right near the top of the drop. It was really uncomfortable on the neck sitting in that position, plus it spoiled the effect of the drop AND screwed up our EE touring!

A storm came through EPCOT one night. Lightening hit a few of the WS buildings and took out the electricity. The kids were riding the Mexico ride when the lights went out. They had to be rescued. It’s been awhile, but I think that the boat was pushed of pulled into a service corridor.

We got stuck on Dinasaur too before, but never had to be rescued. It stopped for a while during the middle of the ride. The lights came on. It really ruined the effect of the ride. It was strange to see that most of those birds and things flying at you are only the head part on metal mechanical arms that go back and forth.

We got stuck on TT during the speed test around the turn. Our car was sideways for about 10 minutes before they could get the ride going again. Needless to say, it ruined the experience, but we just rode it again later and had a great time.
ADP :D

Ok, my DH and DS were stuck for about 35 minutes on TT during the "cold" area...

wE also have been stuck in POTC. It was during the "We wants the redhead scene..."

Also, gotten stuck at IASW during the "white" area near the end...

Also stuck for a small time on Peter Pans...

We were stuck on SE for 5-10 mins. It was on the part near the end when you are going backwards down the steep hill. We didn't have to be rescued but it was kinda scary sitting in that position.

I rode Test Track about a week and a half ago. We just broke the barrier test and started looping around the course outside when the vehicle stopped dead and smoke started coming from it. I thought it was going to catch on fire. We were locked in our seats and couldn't move. Finally a mechanic came running out, hit a few things in the back and we started inching toward the curve around the front of the building. It was going slow and then all of a sudden went full speed to the curve. We all were screaming THEN AGAIN IT CAME TO A DEAD STOP RIGHT ON THE CURVE! I thought I was going to fall out of the vehicle. We all started screaming help! It was very uncomfortable being on such a high angle. Again we couldn't move. So yet again the mechanic comes running out and we inch our way back into the building. I thought it was impossible for the vehicle to go full speed on the curve and then stop dead. Man that was uncomfortable. We were hanging on to our seatbelts for dear life. I have been on Test Track when it has broken down before, but this was by far the worst experience. Not good when you smell smoke and burning.

On r&rrc in late March the take off seemed a little slow we only made it 3/4 of the way up the first loop and rolled back down. We sat in the dark for a few minutes listening to areosmith the lights came on and an anouncement to stay in the cars. Maintenance came and led you out.Got a front of the line pass but it was down again later in the afternoon.Unimpressive with the lights on.

During the Sat May 10th e-night we were riding Space Mountain - there was no line and all and we were too tired to walk all the way down and back up again - my friend Jacqui and I didn't feel like riding it again so we headed on to Buzz - DR and Jacqui's husband Rob decided to cut through the handicap entrance instead of walking all the way around. We said we'd meet up at Buzz when they were done.

Well this was about 12:30 - the park closed at 1am. We rode Buzz for a while and around 12:45 started to wonder where the guys were - we walked back over to SM and no sign of them. 12:55 and no hubands, SM had closed up and they had turned off the main lights at MK.

We honestly started to believe that they have gotten in trouble for breaking the line rules and we were going to have to bail them out. At 1:05 we started to worry when out of the arcade come both DR and Rob - smiling ear to ear. We were miffed to say the least - until they told us that they had gotten stuck on Space Mountain and had to be walked out. The lights were turned on and DR got all kinds of pictures. He loved every minutes of it! We were just mad - we could have been riding Buzz!

I had to be rescued from Test Track a few years ago. We were right at the part where the "truck" is approaching the vehicle. We were sitting there for a good fifteen minutes. A kid in the backseat had his seatbelt come off, so we were all frantically waving at the cameras because he couldn't relatch it, and we didn't know if the ride would start up again. Eventually, a cast member came, and had us get out of the vehicle. We had to walk down the hill section, and down a staircase. My niece touched the guardrails, and her hands were black by the time we got out of the building. They gave us tickets to get on the ride again without waiting.

Last December, I got stuck on Splash Mountain three seperate times, but never had to be rescued. The worst was during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party one night. It was pouring rain, and since we were already soaked from the rain, we decided we may as well go on Splash Mountain. We rode on it three times without getting off. It broke down on the third time. We were about six logs away from getting off the ride when it broke down. We were stuck for about a half hour with a blower blowing cold air on us. We were sooooooooo cold. We were really longing for that hot cocoa they hand out at MVMCP.

We had to be rescued from Spaceship Earth once. It suddenly stopped right in the Roman area. I was so glad that we weren't in the part where Rome had burned, that smell would have driven me crazy. I was rather hypnotized by that guy disappearing on his chariot after a while though.

After about 20 minutes, a CM came to let us out and directed us to walk to an exit sign. He told us that someone had apparently dropped a sweater or jacket on the track that had gotten under the car behind it and the ride had shut down. They were having trouble getting the thing out apparently.

The exit led to a real plain wooden stairway that seemed to go on forever and then a door that just led to the outside. Weird, since no CM was in sight on the stairs and there were other doors we could have entered. Not that we were tempted... ;)

In 1984, at my Grad Night, I got stuck on Space Mountain. They turned on all the lights and it was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen. We were almost at the very top and it took quite a while to get out, but it was worth it. It is such a great memory!

We got stuck on Dinosaur (back when it was Countdown to Extinction) right at the part where the T-Rex comes down at you and breathes air on you. The ride stopped and we were stuck there for about 15 minutes. After a few minutes, the lights came on and T-Rex didn't look very scary then.

Another time we were stuck on Splash Mountain for about 40 minutes at the end of the night. And yet another time stuck for about 15 minutes right after you go down the drop. You go around the bend and there is a waterfall right there on the right. Usually it backs up there and you can get wet, but this time we stopped right there for about 15 minutes and got soaking wet with all this water coming down on us.

My sister got stuck on Space Mountain once when it was a new ride right after it opened. They stopped at the top of a hill and after a few minutes the car behind them hit them. Finally a CM came, and they had to get out and walk down along the tracks. She said it was a very scary experience. To this day, she is leery about going on SM with me. I make her go anyways!! LOL!!

Got stuck on the ride in Norway. No big deal.

BUT!!!!

Can you imagine being stuck on Small World???

When my dd and I went to Disneyland - we got stuck on IASW! This was xmas time so the ride alternated between IT's a Small World and Xmas music. AAHHH!!!! Thank goodness they eventually stopped the music!

The boats stopped then inched backwards for a little while. Eventually it was fixed because we got going again-music came on and we finished the ride.

DD said she'll never ride it again!
